He sounds stupidly like Bob Dylan sometimes, especially his voice and his lyrics. To deny he does makes you quite stupid really. One major difference between the two is that TTMOE uses completely different tunings to Dylan. He uses open D with a capo on all the time, Dylan pretty much used standard with some drop D every so often.
@NattySupertramp there is a similarity, it has been established... Good, bad or irrelevant? You decide, in my eyes he has shown that he is not a simple copy cat but a performer with his own voice and story to tell. If you can't hear it then don't try listening. If you can, you are blessed.
to be honest if anybody thinks this man sounds like bob dylan i am blown away... because i think they sound completely different! i don't even know dylan can compare to matsson! tmoe is amazing end of...
We produced this show in Saratoga Springs... I offered him 6 US dates, two of my own--which brought him ti USA for 1st time, This was the 2nd one; the 1st was earlier that day in Albany. Over 100 degrees;when we got to the P-Glass, he was spent. But he came to life @ showtime...My biggest regrets was l not getting my usual soundboard mix....Great set. I think there are 500 people now claiming they were there that night. Funny, but I only counted about 100!
i´m sure dylan would love him. maybe he will never be that big, probably he never will be but he is almost as gifted and talented as bob. i love them both. amazing poets and musicians!
well he does mention somewhere that dylan's one of his favorites. the music you grow up loving is bound to influence the songs you make. definitely nothing wrong with that.
Dylan borrowed melodies, too -- and lyrics, and chord progressions, and entire song structures. Nothing wrong with it; at least, if you're asking the right person...
@tylermbussey this is very true, dylans first album was almost entirely covers. there is nothing wrong with taking songs that influenced you and playing them. thats the joy of music.

This is "when the ship comes in" by dylan, but the words aren't the same ^^
So it's not.
But **** : it's so nice to listen to this, I don't really care if it's a stolen melody or not

Definitely. I was there too and it was just beautiful...
(except the dude sitting directly behind me threw up... Kind of put a crimp in the night.. It was still amazing nonetheless!)
