It's interesting that they got Sean Connery for King Arthur. He starts by being James Bond who is sorta working for the British king, and now he is the King
This movie was cheesy, derrivative and inaccurate as all hell with the Arthurian myth, yet somehow I still found it immensely entertaining, not as good as Excalibur though. On a side note, why do movie trailers use theme songs from other movies in their trailers? The Conan theme playing in the background, while as epic as ever, seems a little out of place in an Arthurian film :P
@squii28 My darling: Guinevere is a name that is hundreds of years old. It's Welsh and its meaning has significance to the centuries old legends of King Arthur. Just think, people may very well assume your name is "retarded" in a few 100 years!
@exellan123 thanks a lot. aren't you just lovely? for you information, i am NOT mentally challenged. thats also discrimination against mentally challenged people and just in case you were wondering. I AM 12!
@exellan123 yes, and i admit that. it would be exactly the same as saying "thats so gay" towards homosexuals, which there is nothing wrong with of course, and no i am not stupid, i'm actually quite bright, and i go to a really great school which i had to wait for 2 years to get into.

A very underated movie, For me it's work of art in mixing moderization with medeval times and culter, I mean it's no masterpiece like "King Kong", "Jaws", or "The Shawshank Redemption", but a good movie notheless.
they completely miscasted on the King .... My reason being that i dont belive that King Arthur would me that old and in other words its pedophila if you look at it she cant be more then 17 - 18 in the movie dont get me wrong its a good movie i think they should have hade some one younger as the King
@738kathleena that may be true now, but times were different then. And you also have to think about the reasons for her marrying him. My great grandmother was only about 12 when she was married to an older man. She had at least 8 brothers and sisters take care of because her parents were already sick and dieing and eventually she loved him. Back then women were practically considered women by the ages of 12-14. I think the Kings ages was well suited, and I enjoyed the movie.
I cant make it past the scene where Lancelot comes to tell Guineverer that he is leaving and they kiss, because it sucks, cause she really is in love with Arthur and I hate to know that Stupid Lancelot ruins everything! Cheers for Arthur and Guinevere!
it was on tv about 3 days ago i lv it! ps. im really interested in the arthurian ledgends look at my user name merlin2247 i like merlin the bbc program and my favourite characer is arthur.
is there a link to the scene where i think lancelot remebers either a dream or has a flashback of some people breaking into a church and burning it? i was hoping there wud be a clip on youtube that has that part
totally fake tho, if that bitch really did that, in those times, the king would of just had her head cut off and been fine with the rest of his 20 wives.
Agreed. Hate the way Hollywood Americanized this English legend. Worse than what they did to Robin Hood with Kevin Costner(ugh!). THEN they have the nerve to use Poledouris' Conan theme in the trailer. They have no shame.
Arthur is a Celtic legend, if anything a Welsh legend. English Christians stole the legend first, adding the Holy Grail mythos etc. Ask me it's up for grabs.
...am I the only one that thinks this is the gayest movie ever!!??? I mean seriously...c'mon...have any of you seen Braveheart? This movie pales in comparison. Richard Gere looks sooo gay and cheesy playhing this role....AND he's constantly over-acting the part. The fight scenes are sooo mocked.
...I agree that Braveheart is a little predictable and I thought his being motivational speech before the big battle could have been more passionate..HOWEVER, compared to the THE FIRST KNIGHT....OMG!!!! This movie reminds me of a show made for TV on the disney channel....rated G. SOOOOOOOOO GAAAAYYY!
I own this movie, but something is weird, On the version I have, I never seen the part where lancelot is talking to guinevere and he says "He doesn't know...We met before?"
I noticed that also in Lord of the Rings; That is, a short bit of dialog in the previews that wasn't in the movie. They put stuff like that in there to help showcase the plot to the audience without actually showing them the story and at the same time avoiding becoming too Narrative.
thumbs up for using score from Conan the Barbarian for this trailer!

@dil007britt It was actually a great case of perfect casting. Nothing's come as close except Andy Serkis as...well, any of his motion capture roles.
Since this, I've never pictured anybody else as King Arthur.

UK/American versions?? I noticed that with Braveheart trailers on YouTube as well.
Versions differ to suit the tastes of different countries. Outtakes in one country might not be outtakes in another.
Trainspotting's a good example... The yanks couldn't possibly understand the broad scottish accents. The film's totally different as a result.
