i am debating between this camp and dolphin lab at dolphin reasearch center... I am working towards becoming a dolphin and killer whale trainer.. suggestions anyone????

I went to the same camp in Orlando but I went in June 2008! I was also in the Manatees group! :)

The shark dive and being in the killer whales tank was by far the best bits of the camp! :'D

& the killer whale was RIGHT up next to the gate watching us, which made it even more amazing! :'D <3

it was in orlando florida, and the program was called "career camp"! it seriously was the best week of my life =]

i went to the ocean explorers one it was in orlando we got to snorkel with the shark and u were right the orlando one deals with sharks and dolphins

Awesome video... I went to career camp this year and had Dave ad my counsellor was he yours too??? He was soo much fun and extremely funny. I have so many stories of him... I had an awesome time...

Yeah, he was my counsellor along with Bobbie & Leah. Dave was cool, until he dropped my digital camera in a puddle in the Shamu stadium, and ended up breaking it.

I just got back from Career Camp in Florida and it was aweful! We barely did any behind the scenes tours and animal interactions at all besides Discovery Cove, the shark dive and the penguin touch on the last day.

Sucks for you. We did so much that I can't even begin to describe. Did you feed the puffin? Did you go to the animal care center? Did you go inside the Penguin Encounter?

The only behind the scenes/animal interactions we got was the regular stuff at Discovery Cove, the rescue and rehab center, the shark dive and got to pet a penguin the day we left. We also went on a safari at Busch Gardens, and a "private" animal presentation with like 3 or 4 animals. We went on more roller coasters than we went behind the scenes and had animal encounters..

That sucks! We barely got to ride the rides. And we didn't go to Busch Gardens.

I just got done with career camp in San Antonio, But my question is, At the one in San Diego, What do you do with the killer whales? Do you get to kind of interact with one?

I believe that you get to feed them and hug them, from what I've seen in the San Diego videos. In the Orlando camp you don't get to directly interact with the whales, but you get to swim in one of their pools. It's cold! I would recommend the San Diego camp if you are more interested in animals such as the belugas, killer whales, or seals. If you are more interested in dolphins, sharks, and penguins, go to the Orlando one.
