I live in BC, i consider myself an environmentalist and i fully approve this competition.

Props to all involved .This looks next level.

I appreciate company's that would finance this level of creativity and take the risk.

Hopefully the weather is good and there is a ton of snow and we see some of the worlds best live the dream all snowboarders have had before.

So you are indeed correct that they do inject much funding into monetary takeovers, however it depends on the context of which industry and what it's contributed. For example i'm a bboy and red bull sponsor the world finals which has televised break dancers, thus giving them more publicity and consequently more jobs and prize money for competitions etc. It's all relative, growth has it's benefits/drawbacks, same as any company.
