  • I think the signal for ARCH should be changed... the thumbs down signal i think induces the student to get nervous... like: "you're fucking it up son"... i also think that when possible, tunnel time should be included as a first step in skydiving... it's just asking for trouble to leave an aircraft with a student that has no idea how to fucking ARCH...

  • seemed like the instructor sketched out and pulled for the student early without getting him stable or checking his airspace and as result almost deployed into the other instructor. very sketchy stuff errr maybe a newbie AFF instructor?. notice the pilot chute also gets deployed on the wrong side of the students body. total goat fuck. i want that instructor to take my ex wife on a skydive.

  • The lack of arch was caused by weak legs (floppy, and knees bent too much). The first thing the guy needed was legs out. For many people, it's very hard or impossible to arch with bent knees.

Oh, and never, ever, get above a student.

  • que hermoso salto todo se puede en el nombre del señor jesus

  • @fredy32581 jesus aqui no pinta una mierda. que le den a jesus, y confiemos en la habilidad de las personas y la tecnologia que usan.

  • Why did that instructor pull that student out, without stabilizing fist???? Skill level??? Panic??? Hello!!!! RW suit???? Hello!!!! WTF!!! Some people should not be instructors... just danger others!!!!

  • i'm sorry but I couldn't help but burst out laughing at how utterly helpless he looked

  • AFF level 1s... Stop the insanity!! Have 'em do a few tandems, first. That jump went exactly to plan. It went to sh*t, just like level ones usually do. They're a controlled car crash, at best.

  • @neomuttley Hey my lvl 1 wasn't bad at all. I didn't mess around with tandems. A little squirely on exit but good overall.

  • @MaHoNeY760,

Glad it went well for you. A whole lot of 'em don't. My first three jumps were tandems. I learned a good deal from them before doing it myself.

  • @neomuttley lol "glad it went well for you?" what skydive did you watch. yukyukyuk.

  • @neomuttley Level ones aren't bad where I did mine. there should just be mandatory tunnel time first. and the skydiver should be mentally prepared to follow instructions

  • @lucaschristenson,

I did three teaching tandems to start. Most of these AFF 1s seem to go to sh*t. IMHO, the tandems are better. I think you learn more during those three.

  • @neom

I don't know if you are an instructor of any kind or not, but for your information; Tandems only make things worse. When someone does a bunch of tandems, all they do is build bad habits, that the tandem instructor can't notice, and when the person goes to do AFF... this happens, and takes for ever to get them out of those bad habits, or sometimes like this student, you wont be able to do it. One tandem at the most is the best way to do it....

  • @PetairB,

I'm no instructor. I am licensed, though not a C, yet. A number of DZs around the country use a few training tandems prior to their AFF courses. I normally like to do everything for myself. Especially if it's being responsible for my life & limb. I must say, though. I didn't mind having someone right there on my shoulder to show me some of the nuances (as well as basics) of canopy survival. I knew I'd pull. Beyond that, there's a lot of ways to get hurt.

  • Probably saved that student's life. AAD doesn't always do it.

  • what part of the students canopy hit the instructor? was it only the pilot chute?

  • @SamuelKroell11 just the pod

  • @SamuelKroell11 looked like the D-Bag got him

  • Looks like the student tried to pull at 0:36

  • @carabela125

he have to do this lol ;D you do this 3 times or like something ;)

  • Fucking ARCH!!!!!

  • pelvis down bro

  • AFF Istructor waring RW SUIT ....!? .....WTF

No iT IS Not A DRAMA ! Its a **ing Tragic COMEDY !!!

  • @vadimuskoro

Well said bro, I agree!!!! These guys suck!

  • I can't see any drama, sorry...

  • my aff sequence went pretty much uneventful. one of the lucky ones who was a natural from jump 1. it is funny seeing others who just can not fly!! lol

  • Every one is wise behind the computer....

  • LOL@ 1:21

  • How do we know this isn't a training video?

  • @Bisnarty The truth is out there!!!.....Only known to these secretive AFF instructors seeking to trick you tube viewers for kicks. We are through the looking glass here people, all is not what it seems.

  • Wow. Need a third person to film him. That was sketchy!

  • that could have been ugly

  • see, this is why we can't have nice things, this is also why i'm petrified of ever becoming an AFF instructor

  • after sunset in days like that beer taste great

  • Wow. As an experienced skydiver, I see this video and knew that it was a close call, but seeing the stills at the end - that was a VERY close call. The scenario I immediately imagined is the instructor's hand getting caught in the lines and being ripped off. Not an accident report that any of us want to ever have to read again. Glad they made it out alright.

  • 0:37 he goes for the dummy pull at a bad moment and it seems to flip him over on his back.

  • The student was performing a fairly typical level one. The secondary instructor should have never let go. Letting go was the incorrect action. The reserve side instructor should have quit giving signals, held him in place, and let the main side do their job. No disrespect intended, but in this case, the instructor caused the issue.

  • Thnaks for posting - great learning material - and some great comments are already posted here!

  • Man that's just wild. Glad you didn't lose your thumb !

  • I've seen something similar to this(believe or not) before where the primary ended up having to do an upside-down rodeo on the out of control student in order to deploy.

You know what? Shit happens and sometimes you just can't avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Remember one of the first things you learn as a student jumper? "Never sacrifice altitude for stability." The instructor did what he/she had to do. End of story.

  • Those pictures of the lines runing 'through' your fingers and around the student's arms are scary scay. Glad it ll ended well.

  • Needs to have extra drill on the importance of the look up, arch when exiting the plane. That aint funny.

  • the shot at 1:17 may be the scariest pic I've seen jumping! Holy Crap!! Glad everyone made it OK! Blue Skies..

  • Wow that was a little too close to a double fatality. That student really blew it.

  • He did check in, check out, then jumped, no up/down.

Looks like he didnt notice arch but was giving primary the alti reading. The secondary gets wacked in the head, so breaks away.

He then does a practice pull, without both instructors, loses the arch, which causes the spin.

The camera man attempts to rejoin after the spin stops, but doesnt quite make it when the canopy is opened.

  • at 0:22 the instructor gave the student the signal for 'arch' but... lol... i did not registered.

i remember my 1st AFF jump lol. shitty as hell.

in my opinion skydiving is the most fun during the first 25 jumps toward your A license because that's where you do most of your fuck-ups and tried to play it off at briefing time on the ground :)))

  • I have to give it to the student........he's still trying to hold that arch on his back....HAHAHAHAHA

  • Holy...LUCKY MOTHER EFFER!!!! Like zymurdoo says...save the commentary and just appreciate it for what it is...a day in the life of an AFF instructor. Blue Skies.

  • in most of these aff1 the two instructors are holding the student entire time until deployment, but it looks here as if that didnt happen, was that the cause of the spin out or what ? id appreciate some insight cause i dont know anything about this stuff thank you

  • yep, thats really gotta be the closest look at someone else's lines in freefall you ever wanna see !

  • what's a wuffo? sounds like a cereal. (inevitably someone is going to say "you're a wuffo!")

  • @sweatykev01

wuffo -A person who is not a skydiver and can't understand why some people skydive. Said to come from the phrase "what for you jump out of that airplane?"

  • @AdeptusMechan1cus thanks!!

  • WHo or what is blue skies?

  • blue skies .....means blue skies and is a greeting among skydivers

  • ostroooo!!!

  • he still tries to do his three practice touches as he is falling and spinning 0:36 haha. for all the people out there its harder than it looks...but not as hard as this guy makes it look =]

  • this one is lucky he didnt horseshoe

  • Thanks for posting. Great learning material. Too bad most of the comments here are from wuffos.

    Blue Skies.

  • @zymurdoo whats wuffos? is it like noob but for skydiving?

  • @HeyItzaMeMario "there are two kinds of people: those who jump out of the planes and those who wonder what possesses them to jump out of planes. The latter are called "Wuffos", i.e. "Wuffo (what for) you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?"

  • @zymurdoo Im not sure if you are aware of yourself but that made NO sense,,, ZERO sense, btw I am a skydiver and not some hater but that doesnt make any sense nor have i heard of it until now. try reading your comment again and you will see what i mean

  • @HeyItzaMeMario i was compelled to google "wuffos"... and turns out that guy did the same thing.. clicked on the link i clicked on.. and copied and pasted it directly from wikitionary.. what a scrub.

  • @HeyItzaMeMario no im sorry not wikitionary... this website... hahaha vanity-plates(dot)com/what/whatW29.htm

  • @zymurdoo three types the third is the person who flies the airplane instead. I myself am the 3rd type.

  • to fat for skydiving ^^

  • TUG

  • some people shouldnt skydive. im pretty sure that guy sat through a course of at least 4 hours where the instructor drilled him on how to arch...not ddrop his knees. what a dumbass

  • Of the 2 dropzones I've been to, none of the instructors properly trained me

  • then the training that you went through wasnt AFF now was it. this guy was going through level 1 where he did get training unless they really arent doing their job

  • why do you say that?

  • ups... lucky guy second instructor

  • hahahah holy shit, that was dicey

It looked likes the student, not the primary instructor, activates at 0:37. Did the primary give the pull sign?

  • That was almost really bad.Forget a line over! What do you do when your instructor is tangled up in your main.

AFF level I reserve ride I guess.

I guess you should get the real bad shit out of the way early. LOL.

    Thank God it wasn't worse.

  • fucking shit holly cow

  • all instructor around world have balls for put there life in hands of fake like this guys

RESPECT FOR ALL nice jumps brothers

  • Did you pass???

  • Advancement criteria for Cat A is reasonable freefall stability and pull (w/ or w/o assist) within 1000ft of planned altitude.

    ...so no :)

  • Holy fucking shit indeed!!!!!!! God I love this sport. Each day a gift.

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT DUDE !!! :-/

  • Spaghetti hell!

  • noch nie was vom briefing gehört?

normaler weise darf sowas nicht passieren... hoffentlich sind alle heil davon gekomm

  • baš bi kerful :D

  • How about some more GROUND training before you go up next time.

  • wtf? he dont arch well and hes kickin with his legs lol im at level 4 now and my instructors alway wait for me to open (@ 5000 ft) tjhen they open so they never get below me.. very nice vid!

  • What band is this? like the riff....so if anyone can help???

  • Paul Weller - Blink and you'll miss it

  • Thanks alot, Paul....

  • everyone did their job except the student.....maybe should have compulsory tandems before AFF training like they do in new zealand

  • Look at the fear on his face at 0:16. Theres the problem.

  • what song is this?

  • Interesting to read various comments.. In reply to hristosky: You are correct that the secondary (or anyone else) should fly directly over the student. As the secondary on the jump do you think i thought otherwise?? the "large" student once unstable was not only falling with increasing speed, enough for me to have to swoop to stay with them, but also was moving very rapidly on the horizontal. My job was wait and anticipate the rollover to be there, the primary dumped him as it slid underneath me

  • @infiniteskydiving well done!! :) it couldv'e been a lot worse!

  • @infiniteskydiving, i just saw this video and to my surprise i found out that i've not only seen it before, but even have commented on it two years ago. Damn, i must be getting old!

Even more - i do not agree with my own comment, hah! :o)

  • @infiniteskydiving did he ever jump again?

  • Giftwrap.

  • xaxaxaxaxaxaxaxxax

  • Second AFFI seems to have let go for the video. I hope it wasn't really level 1. Then after it goes to shit he gets above the student's deploying main. IMHO the second AFFI needs to decide whether he wants to be an AFFI or a cameraman on level 1 jumps. Pick one, not both.

  • Ha ha ha ha ha I love it!

  • Such accident could lead to serious problems.

In my opinion, secondary instructor had no place right on top of student, side approach is always better. Primary instructor could've tried to turn the student on belly a few seconds more, instead of opening his chute while student is back-flying.

  • That was funny.

  • stupid fuck.could killed him self and the instructor as well...

  • Whoa. That was a close one. I hope everyone walked away alright. Those stills are priceless.
