I like it how some people are complaining how the GameCube version doesn't have these Hi Ougi and that Japan got "the good stuff". Frankly, the framerate and the loading times on the PS2 version were shit. The GCN version gameplay comes across as much smoother, I could do without the extra Hi Ougi.

YES, you can get him in the japanese version but it is not like the gamcube! Usually you can decline 3 people and kratos will appear will be the 4th person. They changed this in the Ps2 version. Kratos must be 1 of the 3 people that visit you in flainor (so one of the 3 people will be kratos voice) if you did not do the kratos side quests or anything to make kratos like you (always pick him with lloyd for battles where the team splits up say the right things to him during relationship scenes)

if you do not meet these requirements kratos will not join you. There is also another way. GET ZELOS THE LOWEST AFECTION IN YOUR PARTY! This is risky as presea and regal start off with a lower affection towards lloyd then him. To do this, pick presea and regal in affection scenes and do all their side quests before going to the tower of salvation after flainor. Do not do any zelos side missions (which means you will miss out on the last fencer on this playthrough) This means that if you did not

see kratos during the flainor scene ZELOS WILL STILL BETRAY YOU AS HE DOES NOT LIKE THE LLOYD OR THE REST OF THE GROUP! I do not suggest this method though as last fencer is the best weapon for Kratos/Zelos. If you are on your first playthrough i suggest ignore zelos, but keep him on your party (get last fencer for your first playthrough) and on your 2nd playthrough go for Kratos. However if Kratos does visit you in flainor.. might aswell go for it. :)

iv heard of two tricks to get last fencer for kratos, first is the obvious method of playing through with zelos and getting last fencer, then using the grade shop to get wepons back, the second is that you have done all celes related events before zelos dies, then play advanced mode as kratos twice, first you get excalabur, then celes shows up and says she will avange zelos by fighting you, when (not if) you win, you get last fencer, but i dont think you can fight Garr annd others.

Zelos doesn't betray you, he's acting to create a diversion. and it doesn't matter what the affection is for Flanoir, just dismiss everyone and Kratos will come!

then you have thier not read my comment about the ps2 version, or never played it. They changed it from 4 people to visit lloyd (3 highest affection and Kratos) to just 3 with the highest affection, So if you already have a good relationship with kratos chances are he will come. However if you have a bad one and still want him only way is to get zelos to lowest affection, in which he will betray your party.

I read up on it, GCN doesn't gave better specs, just different ones. While it's true that the graphics chip does more work for the programmers, it also limits potential for improvement. Which is where games such as Final Fantasy XII come from. The best graphics for any GCN game, or at least in my opinion, would be either Twilight Princess or Resident Evil 4. Both of which are graphically inferior to FFXII.

Only Lloyd Genis and Collete get their Hi-ougis is in the GC version. Lloyd's Falcon Crest/Divine Justice is activated by a special command when using Material Blade. Genis uses Indignation Judgement when using Indignation overlimit. Collete's holy judgement is holy song over limit, I think.
