ASM is actually running pretty rough, now. After spending god knows how much tuning their N/A S2000 time attack car, (especially on N/A), not a lot of their high quality items are going as fast as anyone would like them to. The ASM operation is pretty limited.

haha ya dude the smoke is comin from the tires, its the sport of drifting, they have actual contest for it called Formula D, alot of big names in it if you watch it, forsberg, foust, nashida, etc. My cousin has an s2000 he drifts with, its to hard for me to do all the time but i do it once in a blue moon, its very very tasky

Shame they are taking the S2000 off the line for an entire year. BUT I saw the concept for the S3000 that will have a 3.0-3.5 liter V6. And they're hoping maybe a 4 cylinder. But it's not as sexy as the S2k

It looks too wide and the windshield looks too tilted. And it seems kinda taller too. That better not be the final design or I'll be pissed. Bad enough Mitsubishi made the Eclipse's rear bumper all round and stuff. But with the right bodykit it'll look better like the GT one.

I think the AP1/AP2 looks way better than the g35/350z/g35/g37. With the hard top...now that's what I've always wanted. The hard top S2000.

I'd probably end up with a 350z because I just love torque. EVO's are nice too but break too fast.

My dad owns a Honda and a Toyota. He's used to the Toyota so after a ride in that and we need to use the Honda next, my dad's so used to the Toyota's brakes that he brakes the same way on the Honda and it just jerks us forward.

Honda's have such good handling. I had a 05 Civic Si. The breaks felt so forgiving.

Now I drive the 03 Jetta base and the breaks feel like shit. I have to stop 5 car lengths from the line. In my Honda I could stop smoothly within 3 lengths.

I had it for 3 years. Got it with only 10k miles. It was stock breaks. Would have been better with the big break kit from Wilwood or Brembo.

Handling is amazing but nothing like the double wishbone suspension from earlier models.

Tell your parents you'll drive slow...lol. Get a sports car. =]

Well my dad comes from a family of mechanics and my uncle used to be like head mechanic for the Philippine branch for Mitsubishi so it'll be easy to convince him to get me an EVO. (we were looking for a new car and he said he liked the MR but it wasn't in our budget right now. lol) but my mom's a nurse so yeah I know a few medical things here and there but she's seen a lot of people in crashes and worries that might happen to me.

smoke is not apart of the show actually... you know nothing of drifting. maybe here in the states it is cause people are gay like that. but the this car is a Time Attack car and i guess they converted it to a drift car for a day. so it does run a high amount of boost and does have a jizzload of hp

any tire will make a lot of smoke, it has more to do with the torque and power of the car, the faster you spin tires the hotter they get the more smoke they make

What kind of tire compound do drifters use? I assume it's much harder than a racing slick.

you would think so but when you have a really high hp car and you need to make high speed corrections you need something that will grip and it becomes about finesse so you use something that is close to a racing tire. than again on most ametuer guys street tires are good because they are not going that fast and dont really have the power to sustain a very long drift.

in short though it depends on the car/driver combo
