  • I'm sorry but Laura Marling is shit.

  • So beautiful

  • Love, love, love, love, LOVE this song (:

  • Man, I need to learn how to play the guitar so I can pay some homage to this woman. If I could be 1/100th as talented as her, I'd be happy.

  • Is this song about Charlie fink

  • @mayea84 Oh my goodness, she was in Toronto?! I cannot believe I missed her!

  • @97cassy AWW :( i wanted to see her!!

  • I just love these lyrics. I wanted to quote them because they're great, but I couldn't figure out what lines to quote so they're all too good.

  • Amazing!

  • I love this.

  • I love you, Laura marling helped me get throught the loss of my grandad she's amazing. And far too under rated.

  • see what happens when you hurt Laura? she writes & sings with such conviction it will hollow your soul into a distant refrain like the tolling bell of sunday morn

  • Well maybe not exactly but it lead 2 my current situation..i guess u could say..still love the song

    amen.

  • @moviejunkie9212 Same here :D

  • Just saw her on Last Call and i instantly fell in love with her sound :)

  • Hello Laura, I just saw you on Carson Daly!! I was searchin' for ya before the show was over. I love your sound and voice and everything! Great Songs! I will sub you now. Thank you

  • Shes 16/17 here. intense. shes genius. poetic genius.

  • don't normally do this, but for god's sake!!!!!! 10/10 for pretense!!!! can't we just write songs without trying to be either deep, cool, obscure or worried about how it's perceived from the the outside. let's bet on how long before she DOES love another man.

  • @johnnyrequiem Yes you can write a song like that but you'd end up with completely souless, emotion free song that sounded the same as all the others, much like pop music.

  • @BroccoliBomber Apologies. My comment wasn't very clear. I have no problem with emotion and/or depth in a song ( I don't want to end up with world domination by Katie Perry;-) ). I just think that too many artists sometimes make statements in a song that just only sound good, and sounding good isn't enough. Take as (possibly poor) example Adele with Set fire fire to rain. Did she REALLY hear it screaming out his name? It sounds great, but that's it.I will never love another man?

  • @johnnyrequiem See This is why I don't do comments. I'm rubbish at it, but maybe you get the picture.

  • please check out my channel recently made more will be up soon

  • I can't find this on itunes

  • What album is this on?

  • I am always inspired to find that there is new music worth a listen. Thank you Laura. The background to my youth was the Classic Rock of the Boomer generation.

  • Get the soap, your shadow is getting away!

  • She has a great voice! The tone deaf monkey who compared her to Taylor swift is having a giraffe????!

She reminds me more of bill Callahan, Joanna newsom and Beth orton!

    In a good way

  • this is a song about Charlie Frink, the main singer of Noah and the Whale, she left him for a singer in Mumford and sons, she broke his heart and he became a complete disaster. I love her voice and her music, but I don't think I can ever forgive her for what she did to Charlie.

  • @ThugPotato Having your heart broken totally sucks, but it happens to nearly everyone, it's life. It's his responsibility to bring himself out of his despair. I don't think the person who broke up with him is to be blamed for the state of his life. I could spend my life in a tailspin blaming my husband for leaving me and crying about it forever, but I just had to get out there and make life good again. He will have to do that too, and if he doesn't, he has no one to blame but himself.

  • <3

  • and marcus mumford is 24... what the fuck?

  • Did not know she's 21... and she's freaking amazing, it's people like her that make you think of what the hell you're doing with your life.

  • She's a beautiful, fascinating artist who seems to be evolving so rapidly that first- you have to check out the body of work before you pass judgement, and second- it's gonna be a hell of a ride. She's great, and "getting better all the time."

  • holy shit she is wonderful

  • No matter how long they actually are, Laura Marling's songs all seem way too short. It's saddening, hearing something so beautiful end.

  • @jaqalvord to be more specific you should say "Laura Marling > Dirt > Taylor Swift"

  • @BalanceecnalaB All of which > You.

  • Not sure,,,loved her then saw her on the Cathedral tour & so cold but still very good. Not played my CDs since.

  • so uh, my boyfriend just told me that he falls asleep to Laura Marling's voice every night... should i be worried? haha. her voice is amazing! love her!

  • @bridgyoto I don't like you. Not one bit.

  • I will never love a man because love and pain go hand and hand.

  • @lola43275 It goes for the other way too.

  • @lola43275 and I can't do it. Again.

  • "When they perfect human cloning im gonna order twelve of those"

  • what a good song i think it relates to every girl its so beatyfull

  • great ending to this vid, where the shadow gets up!

  • @iamweasel..yes your right,"overbearing and a arse"...whats in a name?

  • love this song.... cant get it out of my head:-)

  • She reminds me of an older version of Dakota Fanning

  • MUMFORD BITCHES!!!!!

  • @bcfcpker & what does that mean?

  • @iamaweasel It means Mumford & Sons is the best band in the world. fact.

  • @bcfcpker erudite - you have a wonderful way with words. & grammar. Determined by evidence.

  • @iamaweasel don't get Mr. philosophical and articulate with me, you are just trying to be profound and use words the kids on here can''t comprehend, not cool.

  • @bcfcpker Who's trying or indeed want's to be 'cool' - whatever that might be.

  • @iamaweasel You are trying portray yourself as some sort of intellectual superior, pathetic.

  • @bcfcpker I thank you for your perspicacity in identifying my short-comings, and your ability to do so on the basis of a meagre few sentences from myself is nothing less than remarkable. I feel suitably chastened by your comments, and will go away now and reflect on what you’ve identified in me. I may well seek to mitigate the negative impact of my wretchedness by helping the poor and needy and will probably do so in less developed countries…….

  • @iamaweasel Oh so many complex words my mind can't yet comprehend. u suck ass br0

  • @bcfcpker Apologies but, as I’m terribly old, I didn’t understand the ersatz street patois of this comment. Is it a compliment or just an inane, mono-syllabic micro-insult? Please advise.

  • @iamaweasel It was neither a compliment nor insult, you are just confused in old age.

  • @bcfcpker Not actually confused in old (well not that old actually) age: it was just incomprehensible. Is 'ass' as in donkey, or as in Americanised 'Arse'? Or as in a stupid or foolish person?

  • @iamaweasel This is a fruitless protest.. why are you adamant on replying? I really don't understand the logic behind this ridiculous quarrel.. I think I'm going to block you now.

  • @bcfcpker Lordy, Lordy Miss Scarlet gutted at the rejection. You started the 'quarrel', and then the unthinking abuse. I merely commented on ‘Mumford Bitches’. Blocked by you is a mark of progress. Firing simplistic abuse is easy now for 'Youffs'. I don’t use ‘big words’, I use the words I use everyday. Luke, think before you post. Yes I am educated, and I’ve been around the block. But this is the way I communicate: no pretension, seen it all, done most of it. Goodbye. & frankly good luck.

  • @iamaweasel Given I may not not be as well educated as yourself, but pointing that out with full intention of causing embarrassment is pretty spiteful for a older gentleman like yourself.. really think that was a mature thing to do? Not everyone is as articulate and quite frankly as smart as you, no need to rub it in, and I guarantee you do not speak like this in person, you have time to think out your replies, just as I do.. I hope God frowns upon you.

  • @bcfcpker your original contention was that I was being pretentious. But I do speak/write this way. It’s my bloody job to do so, and in a considered not childlike way. I originally just commented on 'Mumford Bitches'. My job/life is such that I have to be clear/precise in my use of language(s) and consequently this is how I write/speak. You were being chippy and ‘smart’ and were caught out. & yes I do work in less-developed countries helping the poor and needy. Fact btw. Grow some.

  • @bcfcpker & now I'm sure I've been overbearing and possibly an arse: it's just that when I come across some moronic ('Mumford Bitches') comment I'm irked. The InterWeb is a place where it's possible to splurge random unthinking bollocks seemingly without recourse. I rarely venture out into this world, for allsorts of reasons, but the apparent anonimity of the web leads people (you in this case) to post palpable nonesense. Just think before you post - from an old codger (aged 53)

  • @iamaweasel So why the fuck comment on something so irrelevant to you and what you are doing.. you picked this fight. And I'm far from moronic, I'm competent and coherent, you'd see if we met in real life.

  • @iamaweasel You're awesome. (I don't mean that in as sarcastic way).

  • @FromHundredAcreWood

    For why?

  • Holding my gig in the place this vid was filmed next year :P

  • Wooooooow♥

  • Laura Marling > Taylor Swift

  • @jaqalvord no shit

  • Comment removed

  • @jaqalvord Laura is worlds away from taylor and her lyrics don't compare to lauras for a second

  • @jaqalvord amen

  • @jaqalvord If that really is an intentional 'greater then' sign, then that's an awesome comment.

  • @jaqalvord THey are completely different artists. Why would you compare them?

  • This get better every time i hear it. Love your music Laura

  • @Stayroxy it is on itunes...

  • I know your probably not going to read this but I hope you do.I'm a singer/songwriter from Ireland,I know I'm one of millions out there but as Ireland is such a small place the talent that comes from here is rarely recognised.I feel I'm writing real songs from my own personal experiences. So if you just take a minute out of your day to view my videos and maybe subscribe, you really dont understand how much this could help me. All I want is for honest music to be recognised! Thanks :)

  • @JohnnyPet88 I did read this and i totally get where you're coming from. I've checked out a couple of your songs. You're really good! Keep it up, and remember you should keep writing and singing for yourself regardless of whether you find fame and fortune. Otherwise you might go insane.. x

  • @JohnnyPet88 Hi hun, I just read your message and I am happy to have a look at your channel. I have a weakness for the Irish I was married to a Dublin man and now I live with somebody who claims to be Irish.

  • @MrMisfortunes :) im an english A level graduate, i can more than spell, its was your petulance that infuriated me to the point of practically combusting at my keyboard and thus not hesitating to ensure the correct annunciation. So we find ourselves, 7months down the line, a new album out, a massive push from virgin music right now concerning her cascade of accolades from NME, mercury nominations and brits, still no change in style.

But alot more money in good old lauras pocket. Well done Laura

  • @ferrethull yes I was simply just worried she would go mainstream. Sorry if this annoyed you but I do not believe that it would be good for her to go mainstream (lots of artists get messed up when they do). Mainstream doesn't mean to buy a lot of CD's it means it's a style of music lots of people listen too. I'm really happy with her new album, and i'm sure you are too. But she herself said she didn't want to get involved in mainstream music, I still stand by my point but I agree with you more.

  • @MrMisfortunes i agree, pop music has become a genre in itself, it represents the more rubbish parts of music, just look at the x factor and how that changes people...*shivers*

  • @JordexAndCo I know haha! i hate the x factor!!

  • I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT ANYONES OPINION. I DIDNT ASK FOR IT. I MERELY STATED MINE. PELASE STOP MESSAGING ME. THANK YOU.

  • @INTERPOLFAN17 eat a dick faggot

  • @AlexH794 you have a good day now.

  • @INTERPOLFAN17 I don't even know the context, but this made me laugh so hard.

  • @LordMooseifer well i few months ago i wrote that in my opinion laura marling is a genius for being able to write a song like this at the age of 16...and i received many replies saying...oh this is far from genius...blah blah blah...someone mentioned beethoven debuting at six so she's far from being a genius...and so i was quite irked that these people were writing to me, telling me that my opinion...was wrong...opinions are opinions haha...and thus came that comment...

  • Can't get enough of this song

  • Come one Laura, 240p?

  • the awkward moment when you watch a video with your jaw dropped to the floor because the lyrics describe the last six months of your life.

  • MrPencilcup get lost then if you think it's gay if you don't like it don't comment or watch it simple

  • Guitar shadow box is awesome!

  • insipid.

  • Gay

  • I want this song on iTunes! <3!
