Absolutely adore what you have done with this song! I have had it stuck in my head for weeks and listen to it every day! I really do wish you the best of luck with your music career!
@mpatituc I'm happy to hear you are staying positive! I really feel that yours is a talent that should be heard! Good luck! I will work on converting the people I know into fans!
hey, i really like this version!!! Would it be asking to much if i asked for the tab or chords you used?? Im looking to learn this for someone and it would be greatly appreciated!;)
@dyhig Of course you can use the audio, that would be great. And yes, I'm still waiting for the right person to hear my music, but it's been 40 videos now so I'm not counting on it. I'm just doing what I love to do. Thanks for picking my version!
I so love your version of this song. I am doing a slide show for my grandma's 100 birthday party and I want this song. The ones on Itunes just don't seem to fit nice. I wish you were on there so I could include it!! So fantastic

This song is American. Eben E Rexford who wrote the words was born in 1848 in Johnsburg NY. He was the son of Jabez Burrows Rexford from Hartford, NY. and Rebecah Wilcox. It appears the family can be traced back to Devon in England in 1677. The original tune was written by Hart Pease Danks, born in New Haven, CT on April 6, 1834. There is no reference to Ireland in the song and John McCormack is only one of thousands of people who have performed it. Be proud of your American heritage!
as an open minded irishman great job love what you did with one of the greatest irish folk songs ever written. great version but the original will always be my fav
Nothing really, just not a fit for me. I had a copy of the lyrics and just started messing around on my guitar until I found something that I thought matched the mood of the song for me.
I heard this song for the first time yesterday. It was a cowboy version from a re-broadcast of a 1930's radio show called The Sixshooter. I must say that I really do love your version of this classic. Could you send me the chords of the picking you did? If you can I would greatly appreciate it.

@1297Jasminer Thank you so much, it's hard to make music when you feel like you aren't being heard; the positive comments I get keep me making music.

Well, I don't have the picking tabbed out, but it's G, D, Am, C throughout the whole song, pretty sure I had it capo'd in the 3rd.

hi again,
Can I use the audio from this in my slide show? The more people hear you the better right? You never know when the right person will hear it. Thanks!
