John Kricfalusi finds the animation of Family Guy to be lazy. And in a lot of ways, it is. Writing and comedy aside--which could be very well great--the animation style and -cartooning- is pretty lax and doesn't bring anything new to the table. Kricfalusi made new ways to draw and peppered his cartoons with amazing (sometimes disturbingly so) visuals.

I think one of the few modern cartoons that was good was Chowder. i absolutely loved the combination of stop-motion and animation. it was also very cool how the patterns on the charachter's clothes never moved and the charachters moved over them. Ren and Stimpy was the best though. ESPECIALLY when John K. and Spumco were there
