how did u take the spring out of the fork and put it right back in to ride, iv tryin to figure out how to do it????

@furrybeans just remove the bolt that goes through the spring, position the spring with the wider end towards you and sit on the bike to hold it in place... if you pick up the front, it will fall out.

Why don't you tighten it? Is the Springer front end not compatible with the frame?

There is a bolt that goes through the spring and keeps it attached but I just like the bolt out for easier, lower parking.

Also known as the down crown, it lowers the bike too. It would work fine with 20" wheels but for mine, it would be too low (at least to ride it).

I remember them days of lowbiking, how many battles did we get with the skate boarder kids. We used to do that with the 20inchers, taking the spring out and it was still completel rideable. One of our buds threw these old tenspeed pedals on his bike and since it was so low, the pedals would produce a huge arc of sparks, I miss them days.

Hell yea!! We used to haul ass down hills, and lean over alittle, so our metal pedals would shower the ground with sparks!! With the spring in the forks, I learned to actually hop the bike's front while riding it. Kick-ass times!!!

It rides smoother (suspension) and makes the pedals higher from the ground. Taking it out makes it lower and easier to park.

Well, riding without the spring takes a perfectly smooth road because the pedals barely clear the ground. It's kind of like balancing in a straight line to keep the pedals from hitting, or raising the inside pedal to turn. Smooth with it though. Thanks for the compliments.
