this phone was awesome.

It's cheapest and better spec's than any other low-end android. I've owned the following:

htc snap < cliq

tmobile g1 (dream) < cliq

motorola spice < cliq

You can buy the phone unlocked and it'll work with most providers, and it's really good 5mp camera and good speed (no lagg). If you update the OS it's basically equal to new model phones. The phone is AWESOME FOR GAMES, including gameboid/other emu's. If you can buy this for under $130 you're getting an A+ phone!

OMG I HAD THIS PHONE IT IS SHIIIIITTTTTT! SO MANY DEFECTIVE PROBLEMS! i had to return phone 7 times and get another 1 with insurance problems such as t key wont work, touch screen will auto tap anything it wants, it wont respond, screen flickers at home screen, turns of on its own, side ringer/vibrate slider wont do a thing, phone book being wiped out. i had to factory reset so many times on this phone as well good thing i moved on to G2x :D

I'm not a huge Blackberry fan even though I used to own one. I used to have a G1 but now I have the Mytouch. The Motocliq from what I am gathering is pretty similar to the G1 as far as running Android and having a keyboard, but the battery life is better and I think it's smaller (pretty sure that it is).

Based on that, I would get the Cliq but that is just my preference. However, I like the G1's keyboard more than I do the Cliq's. Just go to the store and see for yourself :). Good luck.

I bought this phone on the spot as my first phone, I've had it since Thursday. I'm enjoying it so far. But some things I'm not too happy with is, there's not flash for the camera, I HAVE to have Internet on my bill, which costs and extra $30 a month, and you can't save images to the phone through the browser(at least, I haven't found out yet). As for the keyboard, you can't type a number without holding the "alt" ket, which gets annoying at times, but all in all, it's an alright phone.

@iizanthonybuck If you double tap the alt key prior to typing numbers it will start num-lock mode.  Also as far as saving images simply long hold the image and the option will appear.

Every demo video about this phone shows social networking usage, which is fine if you are into that type of thing, but what about practical use such as web browsing and call quality?

It's getting pretty close to the release and my T-Mobile contract is up on Nov 3rd. I most likely will get this phone for school but I would like to see a demo with more productive use to be sure.

Is the phone or the software Android capable of doing anything more than just exchanging some gestures with people on-line? Is there ANYTHING which the phone or the software can do off-line?

What if tomorrow all these social-net sites changed their way of communication or...got shut down? What about the software expandability options.

all those social nets are the most pop downloads from the android store. There are tons of apps for offline use. these just come pre-installed on this phone and moto has designed them to function together. like the palm pre. look at vids from any other android phone and you will see how much more there is. Software expandability options are what the android OS is all about, and this phone is a prime example of just that.

because it's the same thing as the G1 and all other Android phones. Motorola has built onto the android os and what you keep seeing over and over is the only differences.

hardware from what i get is the same thing as g1 except they added the headphone jack.

it will have the same camera and browser as g1, and all the same apps from the app store.

IIt actually looks like a cheaper version of the Palm Pre's Synergy system and as for Social Networking, I do mostly what he's showing with Palringo and mobile Yahoo's Social Pulse. I wouldn't pay more than $free.99 on contract for it though, Monk....
