  • Awesome! But I could never afford one on what I get..

  • Ride a bike?

  • You have to replace the calories you burn riding something like that. By the time you eat the extra 500 calories worth of food, you could have produced enough ethanol to power that thing.

  • I think this is a pretty brilliant idea, bravo.

  • let me introduce you to the newer and sleeker design: The electric bicycle - With its standard design, it can fit into all preexisting bike racks and comes fully equipped with a 4 horsepower engine that charges as you petal, offering a consistently smooth ride both up and down hill. All this is offered at only a fraction of the cost of our previous models!

  • I like where your head is at but it's too slow and too big to ever be practical. And if it is fast then it's open and unsafe. Cars are inclosed with crumple zones, roofs, roll bars, windows air bags etc. I don't see this as a step forward, i see it as several steps back to early bicycle prototypes. :-/ I mean, why does it have to be a circle? Why not just be an electric bicycle since you have to pedal it anyway?

  • ...it's a kid. no brainer...

  • Dear Santa....

  • what happens if you get a little bit of grit stuck in between your wheel and frame? your fucked! espesialy going down hill doing a high speed human cart wheel!

  • ur moms a battery

  • The problem is that the person riding this is creating co2 to run it. The actual energy saving transport technology would use regenerative braking and would create less drag per passenger per mile or recover the drag energy.

  • Don't care for the name but the only reason I don't ride an electric assist recumbent or road bike daily to work is the lack if height making my being visible to other drivers a problem. This is stable and highly visible. Got any prototypes four sale?

  • the synthesised voice... damnit, what is wrong with you?!

  • a big wheel chair

  • Why make it look like that when you could just modify a bicycle? Oh, right. Because it has already been done!

  • Microsoft sam finally found his soulmate.

  • how can this break without you "hamstering" ie spinning inside the wheel.. i own a human hybrid vehicle its called a bike

  • I like concepts that can not even be excuted on a one stupid prototype, I like greens I hate Dreams.

  • Heck, I'd buy it. Pull out the electric motors, put in a gas engine, put razorblades on the wheels, attach mechanical arms, and SHAZAM. You now have General Grievous's vehicle. :)

    (hint: Star Wars)

  • This hybrid would not be able to climb especially steep hills without something preventing it from starting to roll backwards ^^

  • Great video, No wonder so many Liked it. Subscribe to my channel if you like SOLAR ENERGY. Happy Holidays Everybody.

  • is this like a joke or something?

  • What a gimmick. Hit the brakes too hard and roll over.... pure genius. what the hell do people have against 2 freaking wheels - and not side by side like the silly Segway. Designers - listen up- ELECTRIC, RECUMBENT. 2 friggin' wheels, OR 3, but the pair go in the BACK. This one-wheel stuff is just silly, and we all know it...Wanna sit in the big wheel? - fine but put another wheel in front for stability. Try it.... you'll like it . Then get back to me....

  • Feminists are gonna have a shit when they collectively realize the abbreviation for hybrid electric is HE.

  • Este invento es una porqueria ...

  • i gyess it could catch on. but why not ride a bike?

  • i own a bike

  • Do I have to stick it in my mouth and asshole and jerk it off with my hands in order to controll it?

  • @leirgauk No, but that does sound like something poeple would watch you do...

  • We need green jobs!!! We need to invest in the Green sector

We are coming out with videos regarding prop 23

    - prop23FAIL

  • a system such as this would require too much weight to actually pull off... the mechanical and electrical systems are still pretty heavy, but I figure once silicon carbide switches and supercapacitors come out designs such as this may be viable.

  • Do i get cake now?

  • Remind me of "IT" made by Mr. Garrison from South Park

  • @jackyliem Yeah Same xD

  • plz dont charge yourself with electricity its dsangerous

  • If the HEH was cheap enough people could afford one or two and then more people would have them. I wonder how Cheap the will be up on release, or will they be so expensive that it will be a Rich persons toy.

  • and the brakes are where?

  • @maphantom LOL

  • I wonder what happens when you have to break hard...

    Rolling it would seem.

  • @AnonCaptainAwesome yes or rapid acceleration

  • first hybrid bike type thing? NNNOOOO!!!!!!!!!! MOPED

  • sweet. It just needs a television and a cup holder.

  • Because 4 wheels on the ground will obviously never catch on.

    Dumb.

  • I want one!!!

  • what if ur handy caped? lol, u cant run far in a wheelchair

  • the voice is creepy

  • how do you stop without rolling over?

  • @yami926B

the thing ur in is probble spiral locked with a gyro?

  • HELLO MICROSOFT ANNA!

  • twentieth first century? when's that? but really, cool concept

  • Grate thing i can"t wait to jump in ! The future has arrived most people don't

    realizes that !

  • how can i turn this "thing"?

  • hope they dont go to the ones on south park... lol

  • not going to work. No suspension and I don't see a drive train. What's wrong with the regular bicycle? Look up other working models. They all suck.

  • This is NEVER going to happen.

    I'd rather walk.

  • @PoWerExcesS well, she said twentieth-first century, which i'm pretty sure doesn't exist, so you may be right...

  • @PoWerExcesS or yah know have a giant hamster ball :P

  • Desventaja: no puedes llevar a tu familia en eso

  • Comment removed

  • useless ...

  • Is it from Aperture Laboratories...NOT?

  • freemicrosoftpoint[DOT]com is the best!

  • ya man so true haha

  • Definitely not for North Americans, because it doesn't look safe at all.

  • First I want my jet pack, silver unisex jumpsuit and monorail. Then we'll talk.

  • I hate the future.. Some thing are good But like The RObot's And these stupid things , Everything can go wrong..

  • just like on south park hahaha

  • xD except the ones on south park gives you a better "ride" then these ones hahaha

  • @4444mongo hahahaa yes what is......the lols

  • excelent,creator humans of energy,excelent...

    sr jss......

  • listen to my boring monotomic voice... bla bla bla

  • This reminds me of South Park, a episode about the airport that Mr. Garrison got pissed so he made his own transportation veichle.. xD

  • @BlockerOfBlocks I MEMBER THAT XDDDDDD

  • why do this remide me about portal

  • me 2 . great game!

  • can i just have a free test model? XD

  • what a lame designe. now we are going to have hybrid bike thieves. yep, park the fucker in one of those chargers, come back and it's gone. **thumbs up**

  • oh and plz get rid of the robo lady voice. That shit kills me.

  • high speed turning = death. so no swerving to miss animals or potholes. Also no suspension means that potholes will eat your ass, and thats no bueno.

i do like that youre trying to think outside of the box but this thing needs some serious work to it before reposting or youll just get laughed at. Perhaps stronger angling of the wheels so its more stable and have a strong counterbalanace in the back so you can brake and not flip.

  • It'd be cheaper to add this stuff to a bike.

  • yeah, to bad people like to get complicated...

  • So mega *FAIL* !!!!

If you brake in an emergency it will roll over forward, end of design, bin it and move on.

  • yeah right.

  • Reminds me of the one off southpark, without the stuff in your mouth and ass..

  • 0:25 in the "twentieth first" century?

  • why dont these mono pod like vechicles ever have any supension..these just look like the make a ride thats too hard and bumpy...

  • Everything works on 3D...

Aerodynamically, it's a nightmare, and the disabled, those that are too tired after a long day's WORK, and old people, are left out. But I guess the UNFIT are to be sacrificed, huh?

Try to stop it, it would roll, and how about bad weather?

UTOPIA... Pandering to rich kid's guilt complexes...

    And filling Mass Graves.

  • buy a convertible if u have bad weather, and to stop it i have no idea

  • you should add the handle that is inserted in the ass and another one for the mouth. that construction proved to be most efficient one

  • so.... how do you turn it? oO

  • I could see myself head-nodding in this shit listening to music and the whole thing rocking back n fourth.

  • if you leaned too far forward the wheels would spin towards each other causing the wheels to seize and would not be fun.

  • haha, well this should be great exercise. Don't travel to much for over 2 hours...

  • ya right , the first human electric hybrid... its called a moped.

  • WIN!

  • Nice if you live in Florida or Texas where there isn't a winter....

  • wtf am i watching?

  • lol. in the description you say you don't think people will notice that the voice is synthesized. I figured it out when the first thing it said was: He, the world's first human electric HYBRID VEHICLE!!! lol

  • It's definately NOT the first human-electric-hybrid, but it's still a neat idea. I wouldn't mind getting one when they come out.

  • nah, aint worth it

  • dont step too hard in the brakes.

  • Pretty good idea

  • thank you

  • wuacala de pollo esta horrible mejor un pinche pedal con llantas

  • who is he?

  • lol

  • i would add a solar panel on the top (the dark spot on top)

  • if you listened you'd see that they already added solar panels to the design.

  • i agree with medeviltimes. I WANT IT NOW.

  • it betah be he not she

  • The speech synthesizer says "twentieth-first century" - sounds funny

  • I would like to see a real prototype and not this computer generated stuff. I'm trying to imagine the wheel, brake, and bearing systems in such a small profile wheel.

  • thats simple, try to imagine the cost not just to buy it but to use it.

  • stop fucking posting vids that can work when u never god dam let them go on sale, stop talking ok? shut up and start selling the god damn things already we cant wait i bet these cars and stuff wont go on sale because of greedy car dealerships. what a world we live in

  • So... ever think about what happens when you try to stop?

  • I'm more impressed with this speech synthesizer. Pretty cool.

  • Looks kina similar to the South Park vehicle of MrGarrison

    I lol'd so hard :D

  • if they made it wider. or a 360 sphere. then it would bue safer and a true atb

  • you couldn't make it spherical, no windows, unless it was all transparent

the entrance would be bulky and cumbersome.

giro's would have to be made to work with it to allow people to sit properly, which would be expensive, time consuming and heavy providing poor fuel economy.

Imagine the size it would need to be to fit say a family of 7 (big i know but becoming ever more common)

    sorry to ruin that :P

but i was thinking of that a very long time ago and figured it wouldn't work for those reasons.

  • the new bike

  • can u plug it in to a house plug ?

like we do in the north to keep our car batteries warm in the winter so theyll start

  • ugh... bike?

  • The whole is considerably less than the sum of its parts. It's an impractical design which is a step down from the same elements in more conventional applications. I really want to see a video of a full scale working prototype.

EnderEye thought most people wouldn't notice the electronic narration? Every other comment mentions it. It is VERY obvious, distracting, and just plain unpleasant.

  • this makes you not fat ;)

  • What about fat people? They cant fit! gay gay gay gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha true!!! lolz

  • That was the most annoying computer generated voice I have ever heard. X.x

  • GlaDOS begs to differ

  • Lmao

  • heh

  • If your battery input is human power alone, then this doesn't work efficiently. Also, both the generator and then motor cut down efficiency - one unit of energy in and something less than 1 out. Going up and down hills only provides a net gain with considerable braking against considerable mass in motion on the down side like a city bus. That's not done with bike-type vehicles. I would be surprised if a disabled person told you this is a good idea. Did you? If not, ask one.

  • Bah! I hate when videos have crappy computer voices. Is it really THAT hard to just find somone who will read 2 or 3 paragraphs aloud....Anyway I agree with other comments, this seems to just be a gimmick, If we want to save man kind then we cant go around slapping PV cells on everything, Does anyone realise how much energy it takes to extract and refine silicone for those things. Better to just use a bike, and yes you can get bikes for disabled people.

  • it looks like those inventions showed in the early 20th century supposedly to revolutiontthe transport for that century....

  • Well, the obvious problem being the inefficiency of the motor and generator.

If this was just a bicycle with an electric boost it would be fine.

Also you are going to need a 3rd and possibly 4th wheels for accel/decel, unless you like landing on your head.

(The voice wasn't bad, but it had some severe clipping problems at the ends of words)

  • How do you go sideways in a slope?

  • I'd like to see it take a sporty corner...

  • How fast does it go?

  • I don't see any decent advantages over a traditional bike either, at least not for the larger public...

  • nice Utopian style car but we all don't live in a small nit community of socialists where we produce our means and share as a community. Good idea, wrong setting

  • I have a better idea. It's called a bike.

  • Not everybody can use a bike; thats why the narrator included disabled people to the narration 1:13

    Peace be with you!

  • But most people can. And there are already tricycles for disabled poeple. I would prefer a recumbent bicycle, also available as tricycle. This thing in the video is to dangerous.

Imagine driving down a hill/mountainn a little bit to fast and need to brake!

  • Nice, but whats with the narrator weird voice thing?

  • dumb. Unstable, no cargo room, unable to make quick turns, stops, or acceleration. Vehicle could be easily totaled rolling into.. anything warping the wheel(entire vehicle). Your marketing campaign blows. Your target market should be as a rec vehicle as it is unable to do anything useful.

  • i think the wheels bent inward keeps it balenced and keeps it from roling forward as easy

  • add lights and a horn

  • how exactly does this stop quickly without "hamster balling" out of control. It would seem to me that the weight alone would not be enough to keep you from going head over heels, especially when the toe angle of wheels would seem to perpetuate the effect of stammering? Not trying to critique, just asking.

  • nice, but the cost of those giant bearing are a problem. Also, the forward view is obstructed. A quadracycle would make a better base.

  • It's certainly cool looking. I have to wonder though if this whole side-by-side big wheels thing is practical. You'd think you'd see more of them around (side-by-side big wheel motorcycles, bicycles, Mopeds...) if it were.

Then again, it took a long time for anybody to come up with something as obvious as the rice cooker, and those are wonderful. So maybe you've got the right idea after all.

    I admit I just don't know.

  • umm... Where's the radio?

    =P

  • in your i-pod, mp3-player or cell phone... not the 20th century any more...

  • I don't think Clear Channel likes you very much right now! LOL

  • yea i ahve seen south parck they have a verson where you suck it is pretty much a gay verson

  • Actually I saw that episode of Southpark AFTER I did this design and I was pretty amused by the obvious resemblance. :-]

  • Has anyone seen south park?? haha

  • haha ye just thought the same xD

  • get a mountain bike

  • ever heard of a "SPARTA-ION" its a bicycle with power assist, it is also a "hybrid" and it's already big succes in the netherlands,

its like you always cycle downwind!

  • Regenerative breaking and solar panels... I wonder how much torque you could get from the battery... I guess as the Estor system gets better, the amount of storage and power will get better.

  • neat, this looks like one of those round attack vehicles in the ground battle in STar Wars II. Can you mount missiles on the side of this thing?

  • I think people should relax a bit and read the description before you start to comment. The animation was made in less than two days, just for fun and no "money was spent" on this project.

I perfectly know that a monowheel is not the most reasonable idea in the world, but it just looks cool. ;) That's it. So I don't see a point in criticizing this video like it's some multimillion secret project from BMW, or Audi.

  • I am glad that someone is thinking but before spending more money I suggest doing more research online. I don't think there is another design that I have looked at that has more negative response that this. weather, storage, speed, battery storage, parking, theft, are just a few unsolved issues as I see it.

  • all vision and no practicality. How about focusing our energy on an electric CAR for TODAY.

  • put some glass on it to keep me dry in the rain and id buy it

  • safety and capacity. next time put your engineering skills to a design worthwhile and stop wasting time with this.0 safety, 0 capacity, 0 performance, 0 style points and 0 fun.

  • id give it a 10 for fun, this thing looks KIKASS!!!, not bad for an entertainment vehicle even if there are other problems with long term/commercial/transportation use

  • put a small electric engine on a motorcycle and give it the same human pedaling charging power system. with only 2 wheels there is less resistance and you can use a smaller engine. who would buy this junk? It has 0 safety, 0 cargo capacity... might as well drive a motor cycle, they use hardly any gas and can accelerate as fast as you want and have the same inconvenience factor as this backwards design. whats the only reason for a vehicle with 4 wheels....

  • HE, has no idea of the first principle of developement and I ain't gona tell you. Where is this fantastic machine. I have seen better idea's in back yards wher ther is no computer generate imagery. Take a history lesson son you might just get smart and save waisting your time.

  • its good someone's thinking and all, but electric in-wheel motors and capacitators seem effective in retaining the comforts of the modern car.

the power required to rotate those giant wheels seems wasted, and the pedals look very awkward; if youre going to be pedaling the conventional 'bike' posture is far more comfortable.

  • Oh come on... This shit is so far fetched.

HOW ABOUT JUST CREATING AN ELECTRIC CAR THAT RECHARGES IT'S OWN BATTERIES WHILE IT RUNS. There, now you have a vehicle that is totally clean for the environment, yet still runs on all the twisted concrete roadways we've built our entire country around.

Stop living in BLADE RUNNER land, and start promoting "feasible" ideas.

  • staph, An electric car that recharges its own batteries while it runs is unfeasible... photovoltaics alone aren't enough, and if it uses a generator to recharge the batteries while the car is running, the additional resistance will cancel out the net energy gain (law of conservation of energy.) However, George Monbiot's idea of replacing gas stations with recharging stations is an exciting one to me. But, there's nothing wrong with a multiplicity of concepts. that's what we need.

  • did anybody else notice that she said 20th1st century ? ? ? . . . :dies: u.u

  • wow that looks safe! Id feel safer in a G-Wiz / REVA.

  • Wow that looks awesome!

  • i see a problem. i mean liek really, pedaling a electric generator to a motor isnt verypractical. plus solar panels are extremely inefficent. using that and regenerative breaking even wont help power it enough. id say ahev one for youngins and one for the elderly. but really, human lectric is kinda not possible.
