Yea its the player that counts. Put the best player in some really bad shoes for example. Layups and goes down, shoes slide, lands on ankle(happened to me with really bad shoes). Free throw, tip toe, heel to sole breaks. If your shoes are good, u aint good!. Remember that....

Wow shoes aren't the BIGGEST factor in playing, you can depend on them completely. But let's be honest, shoes matter in a sense; not a great one, but in an addition. Shoes help in certain areas like jumping, grip, quickness, etc. while skill depends on whether or not you will make the shot. It all boils down to what kind of basketball player you are. I know people who ball horrible without their stuff and like a god with their stuff and vice versa.
