@Vampiricgargoyle Back in he 70's there was a bass that I could have sworn that Gene used often by the name of the "Black Widow" orignally designed by Paul Barth, of Rickenbacker fame for his comp' Bartel Guitars, later made by ACC and Moserite. The reason being was that I had never seen any guitar with a padded backside till Gene's bass in alot of pics and always wondered what the pad was for. Then Gene started customizing after that.
