we are startin to lunge our 8 month old gelding and it has not been a problem. Our vet told us it was fine to lunge him for 10-15 minutes in each direction. We do put splint type boots on his front legs to protect his joints.

i thought they arent sopused ro be lunged until theyre 4yrs old because theyre hocks are un developed :\
yeah, but he has only been lunged twice each time for about 10 minutes or so. mostly he just gets to play in the field with his buddies

Is Hayden only 6 months old? looks too big for that age. Lovely horse though - can you ride him? It's cold there isn't it!

he was born June 26 and this video was taken at the end of december. you're right, it was pretty cold and he is big for his age!
