So that's the infamous shark scene I've heard about. I have to say it looks like they really tried to make the stock footage work, but beating up Bruce was a really juvenile thing to do. Universal got them back with Jaws 2 though.

@MegaCountrygurl14 No the one with the curved dorsal fin is Nepo not Keiko. All the male killer whales currently held in captivity all have flopped dorsal fins due to spending to much time on the surface of the water and swimming around in circles. The muscles begin to weaken and the dorsal fin collapses like that. I hope this helps in your answer to your question..

i found myself in a lack of courage to watch this movie again... The first time i saw it, i was a child and by then, Orcas were (and still are) my favorite animals... To see the ruthless violence depicted in this tragic movie kinda marked me, somehow. To this day, i can't stand animal cruelty.
