  • Great gun, unbeatable accuracy and reliability. I cannot say enough good things about this weapon, Beretta design and build quality at a superb price. All handgun purchases should be this easily recommended.

  • is the mag release reversible?

  • beretta 92fs mags?

  • Everyone says they sold to stoeger which is true but stoeger is owned by beretta. So it actually is a rebadged beretta cougar. I an gettin one tomorrow can't eait

  • Isn't the px4 a striker fire. I can't remember I could be mistaken

  • I am surprised that you say this is a perfect gun for a person with small hands. It has a thisk grip. Every article I have read about this gun says it perfect for a person with large hands. I just bought this gun. I have large hands. I have never held a more comfortable gun. I love it! Nice job on the video by the way. Thanks!

  • /Anybody else see the PX4 storm in this?

  • @Indogyearsimdead The Storm is Berretta's new version of this Gun. Thats why Stoeger got the rights to build it. The gun is so good, that it could not be scrapped.

  • Awesome gun, looks like the Beretta PX4 Storm, but over $100 cheaper.

  • In my opinion, the most gorgeous gun on the market.

  • Just picked up the 8040 from academy. Mine came with 4 mags have'nt got a chance to fire it though. I really liked this gun because it's easy to field strip too plus it fires without a mag (never know might come in handy) Plus you can't beat the price.

  • have you tried Hornady critical defense bullets? i've always wondered about those

  • @jwheeler13 No, I haven't. Although, I have tried the Winchester Ranger T Series. I believe they are 147 gr HP

(not the +P version). Fed them with no problems. I will see about getting a box of the Hornady and trying them out. I will post the results.

  • @commanderklank Well, stoger is owned by Beretta!

  • the blue circle is just a spacer

  • I bought one today myself. I also was looking at the Ruger P95. I wanted an economical but reliable 9mm. I gave $399 for mine but the wild thing was it come supplied with 4 (yes I said FOUR) magazines. Wow I said!

  • to answer your question about the arrow. The old baretta cougars had them (i have one) and then when stoeger started making them, they started to make them without them

  • i have the beretta 8000 and its nice

  • I have been told the little puck is nothing more than a piece used for shipping to maintain the cases integrity.

  • I just bought a new Stoeger Cougar 8000 (9mm) yesterday, and there's no arrow on my cam block either. The guide rod is metal too. I've found that when reassembling it after a field strip, that it is impossible to put the cam on backwards. It only goes on one way, just like the PX4. My only complaints about the gun is there's still no rail on the 9mm version, and the magazines only have 3 witness holes. They're also hard as hell to load brand new.

  • @alvagoldbook2 stoeger began producing the 8000 with rails not long ago. Check their website for more details. Also, they've come up with a newer model called the cougar compact. It's pretty cool so i suggest you check that out too.

  • @gunmaster1119 I'm pretty sure they only put the rail on the .45acp model, which I believe is the 8045 f. I thought about getting that, but 9mm ammo is all I can afford right now.

  • @alvagoldbook2 the rail on the 45 is pretty old news. Stoeger just released the cougar 9mm with rails. I don't know about whether or not they are available in america but here in pakistan, they are!

  • @gunmaster1119 I did not know this!

  • @alvagoldbook2 I suggest you check their website. Hope this helps!

  • that gun really has like one size fits all grips, my hands are very large and my fingers are long and the grip feels so good. i bought mine in 2004 and its still my favorite gun. good vid.

  • Does anyone know if it is California approved?

  • @spydermojo If I remember correctly California only allows 10 round magazines, right? If so, I believe Midway USA carry's 10 round Stoeger Cougar magazines in 9mm. Now the Cougar in .45acp is a 8+1 gun. So you could look into that, if you like the way a Cougar feels?

  • @spydermojo If it's got anything larger than 10 round magazine then no, everyone of these I've seen either online or in the stores has 15 round magazines. You can purchase 10 round mags for these pistols, but I doubt you'd be able to find an online reseller that as the Cougar with 10 rounds, haven't seen it anywhere. I have the Stoeger Cougar myself & it's an excellent pistol, very smooth and accurate, very much a Beretta, just got a different name badge.

  • @spydermojo

The Stoeger is not on the CA roster, the Beretta Cougar is on the roster until early 2012 I believe so you can buy those used from out of state still but if you want the Stoeger you have to use the single shot exemption route.

  • @spydermojo no, it is not.

  • @spydermojo, the gun does not have loaded chamber indicators, in the state of California, you have to be able to see, and feel a loaded chamber indicator, this gun you are reguired to to retract the slide to check and see if it loaded. So if you see one that does not have a loaded chamber indicator, then it is not California friendly, Claifornia has the most fudged up laws on the book. The only good thing that comes out of california, is the porno companys.

  • I have the 9mm model of the Stoegar cougar & it is very accurate & smooth action. Very much the same function as the PX4, not the same fit & finish as the Beretta but man it shoots just the same as the PX4. I had a PX4 & traded it & wanted to get it back, so instead of paying the extra $100, got the Cougar & never looked back. Oh by the way, the cup is for your bullets/cartridges when your loading/reloading. Great product, very good quality for the money.

  • The plastic cup is placed inside to prevent the pistol and accessories from moving around, also keeps the case from crushing.

  • haha i bought the gun and i went out and bought a whole cleaning kit because i couldnt find it. then a year later i finaly did HAHAHAHAH. nice vid.

  • Wow! Have you ever held a pistol that felt better in the hand? I haven't. Shoots fantastic too. Great video man. Very good job.

  • @469Shooter Thanks! Only thing I have found that comes close to fitting my hand just as good. Is the Smith and Wesson M&P. Probably will be a future purchase.

  • I love it. I carry it most days and have finally used to the slide mounted safety again. I am a huge Beretta fan (hense my handle) This is my second favorite Beretta. I call it a Beretta. Sane quality as my 96 Vertec and 92fs! Good buy and great choise for a first pistol. Safariland has a ALS concealment holster. Comes with paddle and belt loop

  • I love it. I carry it most days and have finally uses to the slide mounted safety again. I am a huge Beretta name (hense my handle) This is my second favorite Beretta. I call it a Beretta. Sane quality as my 96 Vertec and 92fs! Good buy and great choise for a first pistol.

  • nice vid. probably the best review on youtube. I dropped mine in mud, water, snow, dust etc. Some accidentally but some just for the hell of it. It did a stove pipe ONCE when I took it out of mud. NEVER malfunctioned with other "tests". And as a result, I bought another one in .40. :)

  • I bought this gun few days back .. but mine didnt come with the cleaning kit ... why is that ..

well that plastic cup u were talking about ..its there so that if anything/anyone sits on ur stoeger case it wont damage whats inside by acting as a bar inside the box, my perception :)

  • Correction Beretta bought Stoeger and shipped the manufacturing tools to them to produce the pistol. Great gun too. The reason why there is no arrow is bc you could not possibly put it in backwards. They changed the block and went back to the metal guide rod. I have one in 40 and love it. I have the same holster too lol.

  • @tjaydatnugga You been able to find a factory magazine that fits yours? I'm hesitant to buy one, not knowing if it will work or not.

  • @commanderklank Yeah I have two actually. A uncle mikes I think size number 15 for open carry (took the tag off but im pretty sure) and a blackhawk size number 6 for concealed inside the pants. I like the blackhawk a lot! People cant even tell its there!

  • @commanderklank Yeah I have two. I have the uncle mikes rh size number 15 for open carry and a blackhawk size 6 for inside the pants concealed. I love the blackhawk! People cant even tell its there!

  • @commanderklank You could check the Beretta USA website they have them. Midway USA also. Good luck.

  • @tjaydatnugga do you have any idea when they took the arrow off? or replaced the guide rod with a metal one? i have the 8000 and it has the arrow and the plastic guide rod.

  • @TheRGreviews Prolly an older gun thats all. Idk why they did it. Maybe to make it easier. Thats my guess.

  • @TheRGreviews they took off the arrow shortly after stoeger started building them (on baretta machinery) and the steel GR started in 2009
