If you haven't made your choice yet. GET BF BAD COMPANY!!!!! It is not that that game is the best thing on earth but Alone in the Dark 5 is possably the biggest dissapointment of this year. Horrible controls, slow rendering, shitty driving missions...the list goes on and on. I say that this game is not even worth a rent. I was so disappointed because I had such high hopes for this game but it turned out to be a big shitload of fuck.

Everything I said is true. Just play that hunk of shit called Alone in the Dark. I wanted to love this game I did but it was just a horrific letdown. Just try it go on try and get through the sloppy driving sequences or the odd controls or the near useless weapons. Ya I said it. Nothing in this game is useful unless fire is involved making some of the funnest parts of the game act like shit! Just take the first monster. You have a sword but it only hurts the monster you need fire to kill it. -_-

This game is poor for the 360, it has amazing visuals but thats about it. The controls are awful and the real time inventory makes it difficult to mix your items for the desired effects when your in combat. The game say the word "fuck" or "fucking" wayyy to much aswell. Canaby is voiced by the same dude as Max Payne why would be great if they gave him a decent script to read. I give it 6/10 below par to the likes of resident evil 4.

Have a bit of fun now. Pikmin,Zelda,Eternal darkness,Oddworld strangers Wrath,Metroid Mario,Sniper elite,Ico, Luigis Mansion, Gta IV,Killer 7, Forza 2, God of war,Halo, Mario,F zero,Psy ops,R S Vegas,Manhunt....etc All great games in my opinion but there are probably a few that make you go hmmmmm! I suppose thats the point that we all have different tastes. It still amazes me when I say great my friend says rubbish! I still see flawed games which people rave about so I give up.

There will always be flawed games. Always has and always will be. Even the great games you have mentioned there have some major flaws, but they're still great games. We'll just have to see with this one. In response to the email its good to see someone who appreciates games and the industry in general. Most people my age only care about the next hyped up title to appear on Xbox 360. So the conversation is limited.

Again you are spot on!There are flaws in all of them really and its just a case of whether they are acceptable given the limitations of the hardware/software.They are making steady progress(well some are!) and I would love to know what another 5,10,20 years of development will do. Just comparing games from the early 90's to late 90's the games have changed so much. im 17 so with abit of luck i've got plenty of future titles to look forward to. GTA 10? a VR Zelda? hurrah for green screens, cassettes and command scripts! Tried programming its just not for me. Have alot of respect for the devs because Its something i'll probably never be able to do. The Best I could do was a shitty sides-scroller. I remember when 16bit was all the rage :P Nevermind there will be a time sooner rather than later when we all get to play VR...though I hope its not like Tron VR. If it is, I dont want it :P

They only threatened to sue because sites had reviewed leaked beta/alpha versions of the game and said it was basically shit. I'd be pretty pissed off if a game i was publishing was reviewed and given negative reviews before it was no where near finished. That said, I do agree people should make up their minds about games, Reviews give a rough guide but never trust them 100% because everyones taste is different.

Ok but there seems to be some debate whether it was beta code or a store copy leaked early.I am aware of the growing trend for PR to oversee the reviewing process and as a gamer I am not happy with that! I read every review then base my decision and my hard earned money on that.I tend to know which are best but we are entitled to the truth no matter how much a company has spent developing the game!

This is true,(This is going to get me a load of reply coments, but in my opinion Gears Of War is shit,and look at all the great reviews and all the fanboy it has). Yes you speak with consideration and sense. I agree there are quite a few games that I thought were highly overrated.I made the mistake of neg commenting on one particular game on YT.The response from fanboys was bitter so I suppose each to their own.However there must be a benchmark for developers to work to.When an outstanding game comes out I would like to see the bar raised to that level.Surely the review process is there to move games forward and reward the extra effort!Resi 4? Agreed. Though again I wasnt much for Bioshock though there were good features implimented. With modern engines things such as destructable environments etc are becoming a necessity in games today as much as graphical improvements, Seeing the fire and certain object physics on this game looks to me like a revolutionary thing. Should this game turn out to be true to reviews and be a poor game. There is still certain things from this which can be used to raise the bar for future releases.
