I always thought it was funny that they just put an Atlas chassis over an Urban Mech to represent a Damaged Atlas. They did the same thing on one of the single month contracts where you had to destroy a Pirate Atlas. Just put an Atlas chassis over a Centurion.
I didn't even know that until I was able to cause the pilot to eject, and the dynamic salvage gave me a Centurion instead. I just thought it was interesting that the programmers chose to do it that way.
@InfraredCentipede yeah, i think they got lazy or ran out of funds and decided to do it that way. It is one of my major turnoffs to the normal damage view that they never represent the right mech in mercs or some of the titanium versions.
how did you play this game without running MS-DOS

@jurassicparkboy I used vmware for the 95 version of mercs. I'd recommend DOSBOX and the DOS version of the game over this though.
