hi nice vid!!!! i have a problem i did exatly what u did in the vid and when i click on the start the boxes just move pass the plane !!!! i tried several times and still !!! and one time i got luck and they didnt pass it but they stopped befor reaching it (if u put the view from the side u will see that they are falling but they hit an area above the plane and the shadows are like far on the plane!!!) need help?!

@bigboss20001 Sure, I might not be able to help but I think the problem might be that you don't have the required physx plugin you need physx 2.0 something (i dont know for sure) in order for it to work.
My blocks doesn't break when hitting the floor. The only way I can make them fall apart is by clicking "Fragment Impact Objects" under the Fragmentation tab. The only problem is that they start faling aprt before hitting anything...

Hmmm...Followed steps, boxes didn't break. A previous viewer seems to have the same problem. Also, everytime I click "preview animation", a separate window pops out; I noticed you see your preview on the main window. Can this be done? I'm using 3dsMax 2010. Thank you. @DesignerLukeFX 15005 I managed to get a ball to go through a wall and break it, but the broken pieces of wall didn't break again upon hitting the wall. Thanks for your fast reply!
@ottoelperro So, just to clarify. You got the wall to break when the ball hit it? but you want those broken wall pieces to break a second time into smaller pieces?

I cant open custom properties rollout, i have the demo and the text is white not black , i dont know if the demo is limited or if there is something wrong
@CrzayMazy To have an object wait until it is touched by another object before moving or breaking, you need to put them into the sleeping object (or inactive object) box rather than the impact object box
i had the same problem.. but i updated the nvidia drivers.. i myself have 8800 gt... and after i updated it completely installed the physx AND appeared a new tool bar in 3d max and now it works. :) so try updating... good luck!
@FinalEmnesty I don't believe there is yet, I don't think that the Physx plugin for 3DSmax 2012 supports it yet. But hopefully there will be an update soon :)
@FamilyFirstJ How do you mean lol. What parts do you want to destroy and how? If you mean a 2012 like destruction where the road comes up then thats quite difficult to do with rayfire, but there is a different way. Check out this tutorial! for road destruction.
If you want to destroy buildings then I have No idea how to do that sorta stuff yet :)

What if you want the objects to stay in the sky until something hits them (lets say you animated a sphere to hit them) and have them both fall apart?

I already found the problem
it has to do with physX.
if that has a bad instalation rayfire won't work
I couldn't fix it on my pc but it works on my laptop
