There are a number of online resources where you can get parts. Two big ones are amainhobbies.cöm and absolutehobbyz.cöm, or you can contact Kyosho America if you're in North America.
Send me a message with the part numbers you're wanting to replace, and I'll track them down at a source that's convenient for you, or we'll take care of it directly (we're only able to help within north America).
Yes, of course. That is exactly who this car is designed for. It's a nitro car so there a little more challenge to starting with this version than say the VE model, which is brushless electric powered.
I bought a Kyosho 1:10 FORD RS-200 in 1994, & the old bugger still runs,it has a .10 engine ,4 wd rally car ,I put a 2 speed gear setup when I 1st bought it. goes well,..I am going to buy one off these soon 2011,...Bloody reliable ....RC cars & buggys.
I haven't tried it, so I can't answer for sure if it's an easy conversion. Will it handle the power? Yes, but any time you add more power, it places more stress on the drivetrain, so it would take a more careful approach to driving to avoid any damage that might come from a combination of reckless driving and a more powerful engine.
We have a few people that run them at the local track with the full-blown 1/8 buggies, and they hold their own. I've seen them come off the track wounded, but the owners were beating them up pretty well. I guess durability is in the eye of the beholder. If you drive it hard and hit a lot of stuff, perhaps a little less durable. If you drive it smoothly and target quick laps and "normal" jumps, it's much more durable.
Scale is relative. There isn't a real version of this car, so 1/10 scale of what? ;o) As compared to other 1/10-scale cars, it IS a little bigger, and a little less than 1/8 scale. Somewhere in the middle.
@SPRCVIDEO i'd say that there is a real version of this car. it's an off road buggy. i was just saying that there really aren't any 1/10 scale nitro buggies aside from the no-name companies who dont produce top quality vehicles. i think kyosho used to make one, but not sure.
@SPRCVIDEO how could I make it a little bigger to make it a1/8 scale. I am asking because I have a old one(1.0 TRUGGY). Is it possible to make it so it is able to race 1/8 scales cars.
The original DBX truck and buggy share the exact same chassis. the only difference is the body and body mounts. You can convert that to a 2.0 buggy that is virtually 1/8 in size and it can run with 1/8 cars if your out bashing around, but there's still a significant weight advantage for the conventional 1/8 buggies, so you're not going to win in a crash. As far as racing competitively on a track, the DBX isn't intended to compete with cars like the Neo Race Spec and the MP9.
Is it ready to race

@SPRCVIDEO Ok, thanks. Is it easy to tune?

dose the percent of the nitro deference in the cars power ?
TheMm77mmdd 4 months ago
@TheMm77mmdd
Not really. This engine is designed for use with 20-25percent nitro. The difference between them is not really noticeable.
