You MEDIA guys are very dishonest to common men or to your people but honest to those who, sits in the offices on WALL STREET New York City..... HOW come you guys are not covering "Occupy Wall Street" protest which is going on in New york city on Walla street,,,, Its happening like happened in EGYPT, LIBIA, YEMEN,, you guys were very active when those protests occured,, SHAME ON YOU GUYS , be an HONEST RESPONSIBLE media or quit..
It has started on Sep 17th 2011, today is the 9th day of protest
YET AGAIN, this is A LOT of INCORRECT information from a doctor who seems very kind, but who is HARDLY LYME LITERATE. You could have been born with it. You can get it just walking to your car. This doctor might have good intentions, but if you were lucky enough to know you were bitten and went straight to her, "just one course" may very well not be enough-- just to fight a person's very first accute infection.
I have new for the lady talking to the newsman. She is full of bullshit also...The bull's eye is not the typical rash.
It can look like cellulitis, eczema, bruise, ringworm etc. etc. I guess she is a Dr? more BULLSHIT. plus the evil ID dr. we want to help people -yea we want to fill our pockets with ins. pay off money...wait till they get bitten or one of their family members as Dr. Jemsik said. evil evil
This is flawed. Though I had the symptoms many do NOT. Yes these are all symptoms but some people get lyme and never see the symptoms. Bogus interview. Totally bogus.
Johns Hopkin's finally admitted in their Nov. 2009 Newsletter that they found certain L-form bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. One of those bacteria is Borrelia Burgdorferi, the Lyme bacteria. This proves why Lymies have been telling the IDSA and CDC for 15 years. This is why LLMDs use a variety of antibiotics and why long-term is sometimes necessary. Time for the rest of the medical community to ante up the truth about Lyme disease.
There have been far more fatalities due to untreated Lyme disease than there have been due to long-term antibiotics. You can test positive for acute Lyme disease but if your symptoms started more than six months ago, the IDSA will tell you it's a false positive. This is absolutely ridiculous! At the same time, the IDSA won't explain why you are positive for acute infection if you don't have Lyme disease, especially when one of the bands is specific to Borrelia Burgdorferi.
Yes, Dr. Blaser is flat out lying. There is and has been medical evidence for years proving that Chronic Lyme does exist. The reason it does exist is because his organization, the Infectious Disease Society of America set up flawed guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme in the first place. The anti-trust investigation brought against the IDSA by the CT Attorney General was the first ever to be brought against medical guidelines. The IDSA settled the case.....hmmmm....liablity.
After a month of Suffering, we just found out my Little Sister had Lyme. She has seen three Doctors and a Hospital Doctor. The three Family Docs said it was nothing and that she was seeking attention. The 3rd even tried to put her on Anti-depression meds. Like WTF?! The Doctor at the Hospital was a East Indian man who right off the bat said it was Lyme and told her Anti-biotics would help. Like the fuck. I live in Ontario, Canada. And I now know nine people with Lyme I live 30mins from Toronto.
That Doctor who states 'better to do nothing than to do wrong" is being paid by the insurance companies. right? Any patient with Lyme would rather prefer to have a Doctor who at least try to help! I know someone who was seen by eight Doctors, who didn't do ANYTHING to help her, who survived and is not quadriplegic and lunatic because she SELF DIAGNOSED. Doctors don't know what to do with a multiple-symptom patient; they just want to treat simple symptoms, easy money!
Half of what this doctor is saying is not true unfortunately. What a mess. It takes years of treatment not "2 weeks or as much as a month". Its a shame that brought this women on the show, they need to get a doc that actually treats lyme
sources from doctors that actually know what they're talking about say most as in 60 to 70% never have the rash. This woman's a hot mess. I never got a rash and i know 12 others who never had one either.
I wonder if doxycycline CAUSES disease. Tetracyclines have been known to cause encephalitis and induce lupus. Why is doxy standard protocol? Doxy crosses the blood brain barrier far more so than amoxicillin. It could be chronic lupus (i.e., "Post-Lyme Syndrome") we're dealing with. Can someone refute that and not just give it a thumbs down like so often happens? It's simply a thought of mine as I was diagnosed w/Lyme 6/14/02 but am increasingly debilitated.
I was misdiagnosed for years also. Numerous neg titers but arthritis in every joint that never got better. My rheumatologist became very angry when I suggested that treatment shouldn't be complete till the Lyme is dead! A dermatologist I went to said "Unfortunately, when doctors can't find an answer they start blaming the patient not looking outside of the box!". I'm a nurse and the logic of long term ABT Rx makes sense. Make sure it's dead, duh!
my youngest at the age of 7 got Lymes. The tick bite was on his scalp, under the hairline, so we saw no bull's eye rash but he was SO sick. Luckily his doctor was avisionary and though the experts had said he tested negative for Lymes he explained that by the time your body produed enough antogins to show positive it was too late for treatment. He put him on a high antibiotic regimen which has made all the difference.
I want people to know it is possible to get better. It isn't easy or quick, but it can happen.
I was extremely ill, bedbound, no longer able to work or perform basic daily tasks.
Had lyme for 15 yrs. before diagnosis. It's been 3 years of treatment and I am about 85% better. I did a combo of things allopathic and natural. Now I am rifing.
There's hope. Bryan Rosner's book "The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments" is very helpful.
This infuriated me, too!! That Dr. Savard said 70 to 80% of people have the bulls eye rash. That is hogwash! And this misinformation is being broadcast across America and not being challenged here. Yes, thank you, Dr. Savard for all the pain that is going to cause. Like heiwalove said, most people never see a tick, never see a bite. May have a rash, but only 25 to 40% get a bulls eye and even then it isn't as plain as that Dr. makes it sound. INFURIATING!! That and the IDSA BS. UGH!
I was bit in 1992, then twice in 1996, and now get to stay home 24-7, becouse I cant do anything without collasping. Google Dar's Toy Story, I wrote it 1 year ago, to let others know what we go threw every day. Been downloaded 6 Mil. times. Its on Lyme-Net too. Dont look back@what ya did, see what ya can still do, it could be worse, like me. Were alone out here, and can, hope anybody will hear us.I eat a bulb of "Raw-Garlic a day.Only thing that helped Texas Dar
this doctor is spouting IDSA bullshit. so infuriating. most people in fact do NOT see a bullseye rash. ticks are so small that they may never be seen and their bite never felt. tests are inaccurate and inconclusive. and a single dose of abx after the bite?? please. what a magical pill it must be. you need at least a month of high-dose doxy, preferably six weeks, if you catch it immediately following the bite. after that, it gets much more complicated and odious. shame on ABC.
And in addition to my last comment, let me suggest that if you firmly beleive your statements, by all means share my blood with your family. Just be sure to keep them from doctors as well.
Sooner or later, someone you love is going to be loosing their life to this disease. Will you feel comfortable looking them in the eyes?
For the Dr.s arguing against the exgistance of Chronic Long Term Lyme Disease and the co-infections, I have a great offer for you. I've been on IV antibiotics for almost two years. So, according to you I should be cured from Lyme. And I certainly should not have any co-infections. So, why don't you inject a vile of my blood into your system, wait 26 years. Avoid medical treatment, no matter what, even if your dying. Treat yourself to that ONE dose and let us know how it works out for you.
Dear Dr.Savard:More IDSA pablum. Shame on ABC! One dose of antibiotic for an infected tick attachment? This based on an approx. 8 yr. old NIH study mysteriously truncated (utilizing very narrow definition of Lyme); stopped early under hushed suspicion then results written up as though all was as it should. Objective science/research DOESN'T truncate projects midway then write up results as though all were complete. EVER! Unless GROSSLY SPURIOUS. Dr.keep your single dose for you&yours. Marshall
As expected we can relie on a major media outlet-Good Morning America-ABC-Dr. Marie Savard-to dish up the odious, IDSA-shill stance; that Lyme and its co-infections, can be treated with a maximum of 28 days antibiotix. "[Ye all] are naught but simple [filth]", once said. My best guess of your experience with this complex disease-Savard, is approx. 10 of specious outcome, at best.
Crawl back under your IDSA rock and off the public airwaves, which you and ABC contaminate. I dismiss you. Dr. D.

@Meddy38 the one thing I've found that works fairly well at keeping it "down" is cat's claw. It's herbal. It works.
