I did Eldin, Faron and Lanayru, and nothing wrong happened to me. I heard that if you went to Lanayru first, talked to Golo and... a sequence sorta like that... then your game would glitch. Maybe it's because you landed on the Temple and not the Volcano Entry? (or close to that)

no. im pretty sure that they ment to make it so that u can do it in any order. they either forgot to do watever they did to make doing faron woods and eldin volcano at the same time they forgot to do with lanaryu gorge or they made it so that when u do lanaryu, everything is closed so that u just go and get the triforce.

The game is not giving me options to do the trials. I was asked to do the one in the forest and then I to go the desert and did the trial. I got the claws and asked to go to places I wasn't able to go to. I went to the volcano to see if I could complete a trial there and be able to collect the flame. in the desert the only way I can go to is where Golo is braking some rocks that are blocking the way. How to go further w/o talking to him. If you get close to him an autotalk is triggered.

@mastersword12345 . I just downloaded the channel and did the save data update. Went back to the cave and once the autotalk with golo was completed he gave me the key he didn't give me the first time I talked to him.

Does it only mess up if you do the Thunder Dragon first? I did Faron first, went to the Desert to get tumbleweeds and ancient flowers, and when I was about to leave, Golo talked to me. Now, I can't get the volcano to erupt. Can I do something to make the volcano erupt?

@Twixchan If you talked to Golo you started the Lanayru part of the quest, and need to finish it before you can get the Eldin part to trigger.

@SirRoadHazard I think they're talking about the Isle of Songs. If you go back there, it automatically gives you Naryu's Wisdom song to send you to the desert, not something to send you to Eldin, thus keeping you from 'breaking the game.'

If you come near him, he automatically speaks with you. So where/how can I decide to go for the Fire Dragon's quest then?

Is it okay at this point to safely talk with him?

@unoJustAJ Yes, you're still doing the flames sub-quest. The part where the glitch can occur doesn't happen for some time (after you've got all the flames and some other stuff has happened).

After the water dragon, I had to go back to the temple under the parabolic clouds, where I automatically learned the tune for the thunder quest. And unfortunately, my last save is from RIGHT AFTER I learned the tune for the thunder quest.

Just don't do thunder dragon first.

Start by going to the bird statue next to the sealed temple(the first one that you go to at the beginning). Groose will run up and tell you that the imprisoned(Demise) is breaking free again and you go from there.

@haxorus313 I think Lanayru should go last because talking to the goron at any point after completing Thunder Dragon and before meeting the final Dragon (I say this because I actually glitched my game after the Groose cutscene and before the Imprisoned battle b/c I went back up to talk to the goron). However, Lanayru can go anywhere if you do not talk to the goron. The goron is the trigger for the glitch.

The correct order is Faron, Eldin, Lanayru. But what triggers the glitch is talking to Golo the Goron AFTER getting the song from the thunder dragon. so do it any way you choose, just don't talk to goron.

I did it in this order: Faron Lanayru and Eldin and didn't trigger this glitch. However after I first talked to Golo and entered the Gorge, I got stuck (overlooking the stupid key in the pit) and decided to head to Eldin, but the event didn't trigger just like yours, so I went back to the gorge and completed it BUT didn't talk to Golo again. So I think the talk with Golo triggers the Thunder Dragon part, cutting off the other dragon events (even after completing said part from the looks of it)

@ReaperStalfo It's not weird, since just doing Faron or Eldin last doesn't break the game. It only breaks if you perform a certain sequence of actions in Lanayru, which you obviously didn't.

Anyway, you should do Lanayru (Thunder Dragon) last to be on the safe side.

Basically you have to get the thunder dragons song last. If you get the song from lanayru before any of the other two parts then your game will break and if you save game it will be stuck broken and you'll have to do the entire game all over again.

According to a post on I think it was Gamefaqs, the cause of this glitch was expained.

Apparently, if you beat the Thunder Dragon's quest and then talk to the Goron that mined open the path to the Thunder Dragon again afterwards, you will reset a flag that starts the Thunder Dragon miniquest. But because the Thunder Dragon is already saved and game progress is prevented until you complete the Dragon quest you started...

Game Over.

I heard about this glitch before starting the hero song quest, so I did it in order of when you discover the locations: Faron, Eldin, Lanayru. Just to be safe.

It's a huge fault on Nintendo's part to miss this. It's made even worse because the Wii doesn't support game patches.

I did Eldin, Lanayru, Faron in my game, and you cannot progress in Faron unless you trigger specific events to start the third Imprisoned fight. But I hear of other people getting into Faron without doing this fight somehow.

I did Faron first, and got all the events there (the Imprisoned fight, the flooded woods, etc), but then I got the glitch in Eldin (after doing Lanayru). It seems to always be the last one you do that breaks (unless you do Lanayru last, which doesn't seem to be affected by the glitch).

I've finally managed to get a save from another person at the exact same point in the story. He only had the Eldin dragon left to meet, just like I did. With my save, the event at Eldin didn't trigger, and I couldn't finish the game. With his save, it works perfectly. I get the event I'm supposed to get, and can finally progress through the game.

@Tyrasibion No, there is no cutscene when you land in Lanayru, so you should be fine. It's if the cutscene fails to trigger when you land in Faron or Eldin that it's game over.

Oh yes, I too suffered this glitch. Luckily, I had a save file backed up because I wanted to fight the second Ghirahim battle again. The second time I went through this, I did two things different. First, I didn't do the fortune teller side-quest. Secondly, I dropped down in the beginning of the desert area and talked to the Goron. I don't know which one was necessary (probably not doing the side-quest), but the game worked again after that.
