  • i was in 7th playin 4 the drumline

  • haha its a good thing this is eighth grade. thats embaracing

  • Stay together snaress!!!! D:

  • PLAYING ZONES DAMMIT

  • If the tenors werent so high up she wud be more comfortable playing.. She looks tense and not able to play correctly

  • i have in idea! wait till high school like i did and do traditional!

  • 1:12....if youre gunna add visuals get the trash cleaned first...lol

  • This was your one and only attempt. you failed.

  • I think to play a cadence, you actually need to learn it... (yಠ,ಠ)y

  • he messes up and he doesn't even use traditional grip. WTF

  • um. ok......

  • Lol those quads are like 30 pounds!!!

  • Yo, stop hating on some 13 year olds. When I was in 8th grade, we didn't have a drumline or marching band, and I didn't know traditional. At least they're decent for that young. That's a really old tenor set btw. My instructor has that same model laying up in the storage room! At least yours are in ok condition! Lol

  • Tenor player....geez...um...haha...zones,

  • Hey man im in 8th grade but i gotta agree with them at least we use traditional grip and don't just like move your arms when you mess up keep goin 1:20

  • yall niqqaz is wack do da right trandiitional sticking fuxcking retardz

  • Epic Fail

  • And now let's play the rolls without crunching the living shit out of them?

  • thumbs up for a harness that keeps your tenors at your chest -.-

  • Meh. They're okay I guess. I'm in seventh grade, and I can hold trad (I suck shit when playing with it compared to matched) and can play the Hero Lick pretty clean at around 110 - 118 bpm. But I suck asshole at tenors so I'm not gonna say someone sucks at that. But I still think these kids could be better. And I would also bet that I sound like a cocky douchebag in this comment.

  • arent u suposed to know how to play the snare part

  • These kids are doing well. And they should learn match grip before messing with trad grip. GOOD JOB GUYS!!!

  • u guys are foucus on the level that you all play on but one thing to keep in mind............. It's middle school dumb asses. one of my percussion couldnt even do a damn drum roll in 7th grade. and he got better. so much better in fact that hes goin to try out for blue devils.

  • they r just 8th graders ffs i know none of yall were better at yalls age and if so u probobly no lifed drums since u were 5=p

  • hell, the guy NOT on drums is looking better then the guy ON drums haha

  • when u think about it could sound better..... there playing to loudly and not with enough finesse and also on quads your supposed to play closer to the rim and not in the center and try to use snare sticks next time.....

  • wow way to use snare sticks on quads

  • Sorry but, ew that sounded like shit. And what was up with the tenors being so high? adjust that! lol

  • We all gotta start somewhere, right? Would've sounded better if they had some more bass drums. I was in 8th grade in 2007 too so I'm sure they're rocking their HS bands by now. :)

  • These "excuses for a drumline" are now juniors and could beast easily. This was what, 3 years ago? 4? Our school didn't decide to teach traditional till this year because "it's the same thing as matched grip". Don't blame us? But we are beast now so smd and stuffs. Kthnxbaii.

  • it does suck but idk why ppl are tlkin shit...

its stupid... these kids like like 11 ... its stupid to even strt tlkn smack...

  • god a lot of assholes commented on this video

  • Well since you're an idiot, I'll tell you too. Everyone in my line can play traditional. AND play well. We have 7th grade kids. They're a lot better than this sorry excuse for a drumline.

  • ...so the girls tenor is maybe a foot too high on her...just sayin....no wonder she can't play all that well......it's like she's a dinosaur

  • Why is everyone bagging on eight graders? Really?.

  • this is my alma mater so screw all you guys

  • the tenor player has her drum up too high

  • this really sucks.

oh and for the 225 bpm dude, thats not that big of a deal to play paradiddles at that speed.

  • sounds like crap

  • I vote no drum line for this school district at all...... next year I'm leading the 8th grade percussion section and I'm making sure we learn double beat and at least SCV Electric wheel chair. VERY easy music. But this drum line really F'in sucks

  • @Firedrumma123

how is scv electric wheelchair easy. 32nd note singles and hertas? but yeah this video sucks

  • the guy that commented on me for doing paradiddles at 225 bpm yeah im positive no exaggeration ill add a fucking video im in 8th grade doing paradiddles at 225bpm

  • off beat mark time

  • @javon2013 Mark time in the stands? .. Who does that? Perhaps it's because they don't have a conductor? I mean, the damn snare drummer is faced the wrong way. Think of that?

  • we do traditional and i can do my paradidles at 225 bpm and them tenors are a little high mine sit around my waste hers are like at her boobs...>.>

  • Comment removed

  • kinda a lame cadence....

  • buzz rolls suck

  • it was better than mine, shit my 8th grade percussion section couldnt even do paradiddles at 100 bpm

  • dude. loganville middle owns this shit. u guys suck. and im in 8th grade

  • i could drum circles around u in 8th grade

  • i live in seminole texas and we play stuff like spider, thunderbox stuff like that this crap sucks

  • Spyder is badass....I'm practicin my snare part right now....

what other stuff does ur line play?

  • learn something harder

  • who's the rude dude on the balck tee shirt? just jerk the drum around. needs anger mang. class or continue being a dick!

  • theres nothing cool about 16th notes and buzz rolls. learn double strokes!

  • i was better than this in 8th grade

  • but i am in 8th grade

  • fuckin bashing 16th notes, this cadance is beat

  • dirtyyyyyyy

  • Okay so its 8th grade but come on can it really be THIS dirty! Dirty bag! I understand its 8th grade but come on! And whats up with the matchgrip!?! If your playing snare its GOT to be traditional!

  • 1 - Traditional grip was made so you can play on a tilted snare.

2 - I'm guessing you're not they're director, you don't decide how they have to play.

  • Yea...it's a bit dirty....but you can tell they're jackin around....and what u do u mean it HAS to be traditional....

My line tilted our drums so we play traditional....but when we went to contest, we were 1 of maybe 5 drumlines in the whole competition that played traditional....and the judges dont care either way.....

so no, it doesn't HAVE to be traditional...

  • Yeah that's true. I play traditional. . . but what matters is how clean the parts are and to some extent, the difficulty. So I strongly agree with you.

  • Aww come on you guys. This is Middle school! Still learning!

  • i just started 8th grade and i've been using traditional for a year now, i play tenors for my pep band and im in my school's AAA marching band, this is just dirty, all drummers should know traditional at around their age :l its dirty and sad, sorry :]

  • ok ur saying u just started 8th grade well so did i... these same ppl that are in the vid, are 10th/11th graders that kick ass... but yeah back then they sucked... im pretty good but im not saying im the best.. and our band director hates traditional sticking (stupid i know) and he thinks its crap... so yeah dont get mad at us... yes its dirty but they sucked... :]

  • I was never getting my mad, i was just speaking what i thought...sorry if it offended you in some way :l...and yes im pretty sure that they kick ass now, if drummers continue to drum they can get really good really fast :]

  • OMFG this drumline sucks!!!!!

    go look at our

type in RMS purple pie sunday waaaaay batter im the one that starts it off :P

  • DUDE ITS 8TH GRADE GIVE THEM A BREAK!!!! u no u weret this good wen u were in 8th grade.

  • Hey. In my eighth grade year we had a band director from Albany State University and we was playing cadences that most HBCU colleges play. We were MUCH better than them and whatever they are playing is boring as hell. Da only one on this video who is choppin is dat girl playin dem quints and even she looks BORED

  • I vote no middle school drumlines

  • lol!

  • @ConklingDrums but if there weren't middle school drumlines then the high school drumlines would suck, because they wouldnt know what to expect

  • @gibsonfirebird5 My middle school didn't have a drumline. And my high school's drumline has always been one of the best in the state... and in some years the country.

  • @ConklingDrums wow. you guys must be really good then. and have really good band directors. Idk. i agree with you most middle schoold drumlines suck. i mean, im ashamed of some of the people in my middle school drumline, but a few players in it and i play at a highschool level. like i made indoor drumline on tenors and this is my first year, but if the school i go to didnt have a middle school drumline then the drummers that got to tthe high school would be horrible.

  • @ConklingDrums well not all middle school drumlines suck im in7th grade and a high school director said he was gonna put me in their band because i was better than some of the people who played in the high school.

  • to be honest guys... im in eighth grade and this skool... i wuz there... most of them are good its just that our band director makes us put the sucky people on snare drum so they can get used to it... besides them, we have a wonderful jr. high drum line so please dont make rude comments.

  • yes! a girl on tenor!

  • okay for all you people out there bashing these guys, its eighth grade. they're in MIDDLE SCHOOL, no it is not at all clean but honestly do you really expect it to be? these kids are just figuring it out. everyone starts somewhere.

  • wow thats gonna be a good tenor player in high school but snares need to clean up alot

  • yall suck

  • im just glad to see kids this young out there doing their thing!

  • this really sucks...try using traditional grip sticking...???

  • @Breazeale93 Hey dueche shit, they're 8th graders. I'm pretty sure matched would be a better fit for them, don't you?

  • @Breazeale93

Traditional Grip doesnt make a difference! its just there for the showing and to make it easier to do tricks thts all IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!

  • @THETCMSDRUMLINE i knw tht but u can tell tht there r a lot of mistkes but all im sayin yall probly better thn me now

  • @THETCMSDRUMLINE Which do you use? Ignorance is what you have.

  • I don't mean to bash this, because my school's drumline isn't very good...yet.

The tenors sound great, that's good playing. Snare on the other hand...I can't tell if those were supposed to be rolls, or if it was really that messy. Practice staying together!

What were the cymbals doing at the beginning? Sounded random.

  • dude not fare i wasnt on drumline til high school

  • holy shit no offense but now i kno why my district doesnt allow drumline till high school

  • Great tenors! That girl is gooood!

The snares are actually a little off tempo.

  • the tenors good the snare sux

  • dude i hate my school. somerset just plain sucks dick. boo dumberset.

  • Wow. That was messy, snares. Very very very sloppy.

A bit more practice wouldn't hurt.

  • 1:32 waste of my life

ill pay u to teach u how to play snare

i dont think a pig could be dirtier

and just because ur in eighth grade doesnt mean u have 2 suck practice THE RIGHT WAY

    -concerned 10th grade percusionist

  • tell the snare dummer to try to play tradition it's allot better and funnyer lol but good job

  • I'm sick, what's up with the snare player, really????????? not using wrists at all doesn't know how to roll, etc. jesus christ that was horrible

  • come on now

    get a life

  • i need to take a shower now. gotta get rid of all the dirt i just heard.

  • haha dang

    nice accent tap

with like 2 measures of rolls

  • Good lord!

I was taught matched grip in sixth grade, I taught myself traditional left hand grip

  • LMAO THAT SOUNDS BETTER THAN MY DRUMLINE but NOT ME!!!

  • they say that you should play traditional on concert music but im a tenor player and i play traditional fine i dont c how u cant when your on a drumline when u have to sit their and watch the snare play it.

  • garbage

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...OMG I AM FALLING OUT OF MY CHAIR LAUGHING.....those quads look MASSIVELY high up on her...for gods sake, clean it up

  • ughh.....

    clean up everything

  • GET A LIFE

  • i taught myself how to play traditional since our director didn't really know how (he was a tenor player). now my snare line uses it for rpretty much everything except stand music when we play more relaxed (unless one of our cadences needs traditional for visuals)

  • im in 12th my director makes us play matched

my whole band career i was told traditional was wrong

    lol

    idk y

  • When i was in 6th grade they taught us traditional right away now im in 10th and now my brother just got in 6th and they all play match

  • ...it doesnt even look like they're actually playing it to me. someone in the background probably is

  • my school is all matched.

  • That sucked!!!

Too much arm motion, not enough wrist.

The snares arent together (VERY SLOPPY)

And the snares should be playing traditional...

  • no they shouldn't it's personal preference, if they want to they should, if they want to play match they should. it doesn't suck either, they're in 8th grade, they don't have high school chops man. They do better than most middle schools.

  • true, but that can b taken in 2 different ways, u can use it as an excuse or u can say, "hey their in middle school, and their doin better than some of them, so shouldnt they b taking this time 2 maybe clean it up a bit, and learn sum dynamics?"

  • shut up they are trying stupid and in 7th and 8th grade band you have to play match grip stupid

  • umm...i beg 2 differ, i learned tradish in 6th grade, thats no excuse 2 not learn traditional

  • i did to but the derector makes you play match grip

  • why! thats pretty fuckin stupid!

  • dont know im in 9th now and play traditional but when i flip the stick and go to match on of the magers pops u on the hand with a stcik

  • that's true for my school, you don't learn trad until 9th grade here.

  • hahahahahahaha wow no not at all no

  • thats not hard at all. i can play on two differnt drums really fast too

  • very sloppy!!!!!!!

  • too much arm motion.. its all in the wrist. sloppy too. and that cadence is the easiest one ive ever heard. but, for middle school it was okay

  • dude you have to watch or marching band their worst than this in my school they think that if you can play drum set you should be in the marching band

  • rey, dominic,

    don't act like show offs.

you're both still bitches in the end :]

    - Brandon

    (The Goth One)

    :]

  • Not bad, for JH.

    Don't stop practicing.

Few tears hear and there, but still.

  • ok, we have tri toms and 6 lugs on our big bass, the only thing we have is 3 dynasty snares cuz everybody buys there stuff!!!! we still did much better that this!!

  • Everybody be easy on them. They're a pretty ragtag drumline by the look of things. Probably not a very established program. Give them time money and practice and they'll be fine.

  • y not traditional???

  • hahah omfg that was terrible ill be uploading wat a real 8th grade advanced honor band cadence shudd sound like aftr the 21st of may bcuz thats our concert..lmfao that was terrible once again not even close to wat a middle school shudd sound like!!

  • u guys suck!

  • who was that???

  • wow...that was pretty...dirty.

but i guess its not bad for jr high.

    keep practicing.

    =]

  • Damn mari all bad ass

  • go mari!!!

  • I'm not even a drummer and I can play that.

  • wow. sounds almost like the high school. i love that freakin cadence. even though i'm not from that school

  • WHOOP WHOOP! Go rey and Dominic!!!

hope u guys stay in band!

    For next year!

  • hey thats pretty good well we r gonna have a god percusion next year ! ! ! ! ! !

    G!LLYYY

  • ha ha the only 8th gradders in the phs percussion is me on this other boy and were both in pit!!!
