PC12 start up and a Avanti taxis to parking

The P-180 is in a completely different class of small business aircraft from the PC-12. I maintain a host of both aircraft. The P-180 is the fastest production turboprop ever, and the PC-12 is a work horse that flys low and slow but can haul just about anything a businessman can throw in it. And it's easy as pie to maintain. The P-180 is a pain in the ass to maintain and keep up with the SBs and ADs. PC-12 is a better aircraft simply because of it's cost of maintenance and overall simplicity.

turboprops are just jet engines with props connected to em... very reliable and the PC12 is a fantastic aircraft.. the Avanti is far more economical though, notice how small its wings are?? thats cuz its body itself actually generates alot of the actual lift... thit thing takes off like a rocket!! in saying that i much prefer the PC12 though

Do you mean the Avanti is more economical as in faster? Because the Avanti is much faster but you pay for the extra engine in fuel and maintenance. The PC-12 is much more economical but just not very fast

to be honest i dont know what the fuel consumption is like on both, but what i do know is that the Avanti creates a shit load of lift on its body, so it can afford to have smaller and shorter wings, which therefore reduces drag, which therefore requires less thrust from the engines to pull it forward..... i actually wouldnt be suprised if the PC12 burns more....

@wezkiely Thats cool Im not arguing with you just having friendly aviation talk but I am familiar with the fuel consumption of both aircraft because they use basically the same engine! Most PC-12's use the PT-6-67B and Avantii's use the PT-6-66B (or A). I can tell you for sure the Avanti burns fuel X2, oil X2 and maintanance X2. The benefit of the Piaggio is BLAZING speed (for a turboprop). The Avanti is not more economical than the PC-12 but the Piaggio is much much faster!

which is better - considering the avanti is more expensive, 2 engines or the 1 of pilatus - or are turboprops safe non the less?

thats what taxis in after the PC12 comes in. Piaggio is a P.180 Avanti.
