Is this one of the games that Phil Jackson referred to in his book, Sacred Hoops (Chapter titled "Coaching Michelangelo"), where MJ couldn't even walk because of his bad back and still played three games in a row that were incredible?
MJ utilised his jumpers more as he got older. The "Smarter' aspect of his play(as stated by commentators etc) was more or less directed toward of the younger athleticism in the league at that time, he returned to play. He was older & he had to conserve his energy throughout stretches of the game & possibly important stages of the game aswell. MJ has always been a Smart Player(possibly the Smartest Player Ever), but even he knows when it comes to saving energy, a jumper works just as great.
Great game, this game actually went to Double OT, but I remember that Stacy King had a great game and was starting this game cause Cartwright broke his hand...
Awesome vid. I remember watching this game back in the 91-92 season. Went to double overtime, MJ had 40, Drexler had 38. Great game. Thanks for uploading, SPMJ!
i don't get why people keep saying the 96-98 mj was smarter than this version. in my opinion he has always been smart he just had more weapons from 84-93 that he doesn't have to rely mostly on fadeaways. the way he reacts to the defense in every single play in this game is so quick that they can barely contest the shots. no one in the history has ever had this kind of instinct ( bird came close though)
i used to like the white paint on this court

given that drexler is one of my all time favourite players, the bulls-blazers battle of 1990-1992 are so fun to watch!
