Socialism is the exact opposite of what the founding fathers invisioned. The Bill of Rights was not written to ensure the rights of citizens - it was design to put restrictions on the government. They believed that true freedom can only come from individuals, and that anything the govnt did (more than provide an army, ensure laws, etc.) would limit it - just think about human nature. If the government did everything for you, would you work as hard? I sure as hell wouldn't.

One thing else you should know about goverment vs. private - government jobs are very difficult to lose (it's very hard to fire a shitty worker), not so in the private sector. Think about adding 100,000's of govrn't employees who are going to stay there forever...

the only solution for a cheap and effective healthcare is to get insurance companies out of the system. No one should meddle in the medical evaluation of patients needs. this may inflate the prime care of hospitals but it will still be cheaper than what you have now. We have what you call socialized healthcare in europe and we certainly do not pay as much as you do. and that is not communism it is common sence

The healthcare reform bill approved this week by a Senate committee contains language that allows state authorities to intervene in a citizens home 2 ensure that both adult and children family members are properly immunized, according 2 a report by CNSNews
The Senate Health Education Labor and Pension Committee issued a release this week that summarizes some of the bills language.

According to the summary, the bill authorizes a demonstration program to improve immunization coverage. Under this program, CDC [Centers for Disease Control] will provide grants to states to improve immunization coverage of children, adolescents, and adults through the use of evidence-based interventions.
States may use funds to implement interventions that are recommended by the Community Preventive Services Task Force, such as reminders or recalls for patients or providers or home visits.
