  • @spinalremains84... Earth ad was ok that was the time when the band started to go down hill earth ad was the direction that Danzig wanted the misfits to go an Jerry wasn't feeling it an that's how samhain came about

  • They suck live.it's too noisy.

  • i have this on casette, thanx for the upload my friend.

  • their earliest stuff is best! earth a.d is great too but so much outside of what they originally intended for the band..manny,mr jim, franche, bobby all the way..

robo destroyed the band..just my opinion..

  • @spinalremains84 Agree.Doyle with him.THIS are the Misfits I was hooked on,when they had Googy, and played on right speed,Glenn could sing, they had this 50s-60s RnR thing going on.After, when they catched that HC wave, when Doyle and especially Robo came,it was all downhill.Static Age and Walk Among Us are THE Misfits.

  • this is really cool, would love to hear feline nursery too!!

  • Glenn and co. REALLY screwed up by letting Bobby go!..This era to me was when I think the band was at their PEAK and functioned more as an actual Band!..Boddy is the most down to earth of the crew and most easily accessible!..Not a bad guy at all!..Bobby was the PERFECT misfits guitarist!.Doyle was ALWAYS pretty AWFUL on guitar!..Unfortunately he got in due to personal politics and his image!..I believe the band would have shared more success and lasted a bit longer if Bobby had stayed on board!

  • Wow, this must be from before they discovered cocaine. The songs actually have a groove to them like on the recordings.

  • @MakingTimeInBoston Um...Which misfit was the "coke=head"..The only misfit to my knowledge EVER to be liinked to blow, was Jerry Only!..And i've only heard of his usage taking place in the mid-late 90's with the reformed Misfits!..

  • @MakingTimeInBoston its about Doyle/Bobby-Franche-all others thing. And even more about drummer. When Joey and Googy were on drums they played at right speed, and that brings Glenns singing on top.And his voice is why they're good in first place. When Robo came, they played more HC and Glenn couldnt sing for shit

  • Just Awsome!!!

  • classic Misfits,I like the pre-Doyle stuff the best!

  • As much as I love Glenn he was wrong about bobby. Bobby did have a problem with drinking and showing up to practice but he played so much better live. He could not play as fast as doyle but who the hell cares. Listen to what happend when they started playing that fast, Danzig didnt like the Misfits anymore and they broke up.

  • let me srat off by saying i've been a huge misfits fan since 1983 or so,and love all their recordings.but this "original"lineup(i.e.before doyle) absolutely killed live.way better sound.

  • i still cant believe they were playing music like this is 79' . i was 1...lol

  • Yeah whoever they had at this time ( I think Donny Steele, I might be wrong) was a much better guitar player than Doyle even though I love Doyle, he just wasnt nearly as good back then as he is now

  • *Bobby Steele

  • Bobby steele**

  • where can i find a recording of this show in its entirety?so far this is the best live recording of the real misfits that i have heard.you can tell by the guitar sound that this was early static age era misfits.love it love it

  • This is the only recording that exists of this show, frankly. I don't know, how you define "real Misfits", but I'm assuming you're talking about the original band ('77-'83) and not only the early SA years. So you might check out "Live at On Broadway" and "Live at 9:30 Club". Those boots have a pretty good quality.

  • Yep,before doyle and his "playing"

  • get u wot u on about love it before they went full hardcore, other stuff is alright but this is proper punk with great melodies

  • Check live from max kansas 78,its great show, glenn was awesome on that

  • gleen is better then micheal 2 me and my friends.

  • totally different singer. cant compare them.

  • why is henry rollins in that picture?

  • He's not..

  • That's Joey Image, an early drummer of theirs.

  • misfits rule!! grave sucks!! and uhhhhh yeah misfits rule

  • this is a horror flick, elvis on speed and the best punk sound you will ever hear.....

  • His voice sounds great here, full and rich. He was the Elvis of punk.

  • yeah this was before the misfits started playing super fast like all the other hardcore bands of the time. when they played slower Danzig could actually sing instead of just yell.

  • jerry only said they caught joey image breaking into their house or something and trying to steal something. jerry says they broke both his legs. this was like 30 years ago though. you can probably find the story on the misftiscentral site.

  • What the hell are you talking about show me a videol or some type of proof cuz thats comeplete bull shit becuz he quit in the england tour

  • It's on misfitscentral, just like he said and Jerry/Glenn told the story in interviews back in the 80s.

  • yeah...i know what im talking about....its on misfits central.

  • send me a link

  • i read it on misfitscentral a few years back. its in the articles/interviews archive thingie. jerry said they broke joey's legs, or some shit and this was after he left the band.

  • bobby. what ever became of him anyway?

  • He founded the Undead and is still playing with them.

    Oh and he became republican.

  • DUH! I know that.got their first few albums..I can't believe the UD are still around...

  • He's had some health problems. I think Muscular Sclerosis. He found a valuable painting in garbage and sold it for some good money. He still gets royalties from playing in the Misfits. I think he is an advocate for medical marijuana. His apartment leaked real bad, and I think he tried to sue the landlord.

  • were you his neighbor or something dude?

  • doyle could never play guitar in the when he was with the old misfits. he looked cool, but his guitar playing blew complete ass if you could even call it playing. even with the newfits i think the iceman is a shitty sounding guitar, but whatever i think doyle seems like a cool dude.

  • Bobby's obviously better than Doyle at this stage.

  • awesome but wish doyle was in there.

still KICKASS ORIGINAL GLENN DANZIG IN ACTION!

  • amazing! great post

  • Yea I am looking for any show live with Some Kinda Hate done live... I know thats crazy bc they hardly played that live I knwo there are some shows with it live... It's my favorite tune and would like to hear it sung live by the old Fits... Anybody help me out?

  • Actually there are no shows recorded where they played the song and I hardly think, that they played it, 'cause the song was unreleased till "Static Age".

  • LoB, I meant.

  • Do they ever play last caress live if so send it to me or post it plz

  • Live recordings exist from this shows:

    12/25/1981 - Hittsville

    04/17/1982 - Al's Bar

    10/19/1982 - Finder's Lounge

01/07/1983 - Henry Ford Community Center

    04/08/1983 - P.U.N.X. # 4 (I've uploaded it as "The Misfits - Heroes Of Danzig Part 4")

    04/23/1983 - Michigan Union Ballroom

    10/29/1983 - Graystone Hall

I've got all of them, if you want some, just write me a PM.

  • Last Caress is on Live at Al's Bar.

  • i dont think the old misfits ever did "some kinda hate" live. I dont think they did "hybrid moments" either. they recorded them in '78, but i've never seen them on a set list with glenn.

  • who remembers the Undead?

  • me i got all there cds

  • the undead are on itunes now. its kinda funny because all these people leave comments asking who the hell? apparently all these idiots looking for the Hollywood Undead are disappointed that they found The Undead.

  • I have this on vinyl and it's great. But The Misfits at Max's is much better!

  • this is fucking great i cant believe ive never heard this before..doesnt even look like jerry so skinny sorta skeletal...

  • i'm glad i found this.......its better than evilive

  • hey honk...is this the earliest live recordings of the misfits?

  • The picture is from New York's Elite show, where the Misfits played a show in 1980. It's Arthur Googy, Glenn, Bobby Steele and Jerry Only. It was Bobby Steele's last show with the Misfits.

Joey Image actually played drums on the recording.

    Thanks for putting this up.

  • No, this can't be Arthur Googy, Googy was blonde.

AT his last show he was black-haired, but he had very short hair.

    This actually is Joey Image.

  • @Honkofthewall I still say that's Arthur Googy.

  • WOW!! i just love your rare vids

  • awesome ¡¡¡¡¡¡¿ fangs fiend ¡¡¡

  • Thanks again Hank!

  • honk you mean?

  • haha yes sorry.

  • ah dont apologize man
