alway amused by the bitching and wars between fellow youtubers thought i'd give comment to this...
kasabian have been doing this cover well before florence and xx got their creative hands on it! last time i saw kasabian live in glasgow they did this same wee slot of 'you got the love' and i was like a kid at christmas...my all time favourite 'hangover' song played by kasabian. They aint out to do a cover they doing a dedication to a well loved song
search for "xx remix - florence and the machine you've got the love" and then you'll understand why this version of the song is such complete and total @#$!
Alternatively, listen to The Source ft. Candi Staton, or the Candi Staton original and you'll realise that thye Florence version, the XX version and this version are all a load of bollocks.
I think it's quite amusing that so many people have posted versions of this track and described it as a Florence and the Machine cover...
@leicsbred I listened to The Source/Candi Staton version and I still have to say that The XX "Remix" of the Florence "Cover" is still the best. It's okay to let your musical taste buds progress beyond 1991, that song sounds like something my 8 year old nephew made with a casio keyboard and trial copy of Fruity Loops. Hey also as a friend may I suggest that you stop using the word Fail, its about as cool as a listening to songs from 1991.
@longhornalumnus I understand you now. Appearing cool is what is important to you, hence the name dropping of the XX remix. You're SO cool and musically attuned that you love Florence and the Machine and anything else the NME tells you to like.
How about you go out and experience something genuinely cutting edge and not Radio 1 championed mundanity, and then perhaps you wouldn't throw a hissy fit over a comment about one of your precious bands-for-the masses.
@longhornalumnus "it's about as cool as listening to songs from 1991"
So songs by bands such as REM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, alice in Chains, Massive Attack, Pop Will Eat Itself, Soundgarden, Red Hot chilli Peppers etc etc, aren't worth listening to?
I suppose Led Zeppellin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Doors, Black Sabbath et al aren't worth listening to either.
What an utterly laughable comment to make. stick to your NOW compilations and keep taping the charts off the radio. Prick.
@longhornalumnus That may well be true. However, I'm not the one sat at home crying along to my Florence and XX records... because they, like, you know... really speak to me on a deeper level.
what's the name of the second song?
