"bowling is the most popular sport in the country", yeah I guess that's why so many bowling centers across the country have shut their doors, the PBA has worthless sponsorships, produce peanut payouts, and pathetic attempts to get any ratings. I don't know where you get your facts but it's popularity is horrible. What makes it popular? If it was popular we would be seeing new center construction for one. We don't, why? Because it's a worthless investment.
Okay, question--they showed Jeff's parents and daughter on the show here, and on his website he talks extensively about his family, but never mentions his wife (though he has a ring on his finger on his big website picture). Is he divorced or something?
It's too bad Tony didn't win the last match. He shot much, much better than Shafer did. I think Tony could have shot what Shafer did if he only carried.
Ryan Shafer shooting what he did made Sunday a dark day for bowling... He hasn't won a title since 2002, and he thinks he's so good, and he's got the worst attitude in person (I met him at the US open this year)...
It's a shame someone more deserving couldn't have shot it...
The thing is he's friends with very few people on tour. While he may not be out there to make friends, he shouldn't be out there to lose the respect of people.
No, he's not out there to be friends with anyone but he is supposed to be a representative of a sport that is dying quickly and his attitude isn't helping any.

I didn't know Shafer was on tour to be friends with you. I think shooting a 300 on live t.v. is pretty good. Just a little bit...
