Anyway too many female singers play only gothic/epic, except Angela. Among all of them I think the most eclectic is Floor Jansen, she's got high technical skills, she can sing with opera voice as well as with pop/rock voice. Tarja Turunen is the best opera voice and the first one adopting this technic in a metal band.

Annette has a very special style in singing. Amy Lee is too much close to Cristina Scabbia who is on the scene long before.

Well first and foremost, I wouldn't consider any of these bands metal. I would categorize them in the Gothic/Symphonic Rock genre.

Heavy Metal sounds completely different and so do the singers. If you want to hear some real metal with female voices, check out some 80s bands like Warlock, Zed Yago, Phantom Blue or the only newer band I can name from the top of my head - Benedictum.
