  • Do you recognize that there's a difference between one dollar and one cent? - Definitely.

Do you recognize there's a difference between half a dollar and half a cent? - Definitely.

Then, do you therefore recognize there's a difference between 0.002 dollars and 0.002 cents?

    .

    .

    .

    .

    No.

WHAT THE FUCK? Words cannot describe this...

  • Murrika!

  • .002 dollars = 0.2 cents

    .002 cents = .002 cents

    Isn't match wonderful?

  • ...No....LMFAO

  • Dumb shits, they should honestly be fired

  • I looked this up after applying to work at a Verizon call center. My application was denied for unspecified reasons. I was angry, and after searching on Google I found the blog. After hearing this, I think I may not have been incompetent enough to do this job

  • this frustrates me because I cant find a job but these people get to be managers!!!!!!!!

  • LMFAO even an 8 year old kid would know more maths than them...

  • Seriously, this is fo REAL ???

  • There is a difference, .002 dollars is like...1 cent...And .002 cent is like..hardly any money. Lololololo, what if you spent 1 kilobyte in Canada, would you be forced to pay? If so, what would the change be?

  • This kind of looks like they did it on purpose to scam out 70 dollars instead of cents and continued to insist to cover it up.

  • wow, i want to punch my monitor. -_-

  • I dont think she recognized the difference between cents and dollars. Conversions is entry level chemistry for God's sake. Hell, it's taught in the God damned 5th grade. Guess who isn't smarter than a fifth grader.

  • A classic illustration of my saying that our one inexhaustible resource is stupidity. If we could just find a way to run a motor on it.

  • That's like, your opinion man...

  • @tuscanielisagt not the same person that uploaded this clip

  • @tuscanielisagt

Do you need spelling skills to argue math? Or are you implying one can never argue anything at all without being flawless at everything there is? Good luck in life ;)

  • @tuscanielisagt

Do you count to potato? Fucking moron.

  • @tuscanielisagt You are arguing spelling when you have improper grammar?

  • Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SIR for posting this video and making my FREAKING DAY!!!!!

  • Holy Hell. These Verizon people are as dense as .02% of the population! :D

  • So Ironic that I watched this in my math class XD

  • @KesselnLeafs HOW IS THAT IRONIC!?!!

  • You know, they probably did realize the difference, and just lied so they could make up an excuse to try and get 100 times the amount of money from him.

  • 0.11 people work for verizon.

  • AHAHAHAHHAH "IM NOT A MATHEMATICIAN" AHHAHAHAHHA

  • Sounds like those Verizon employees don't have much common cents.

  • I weep for the future of America

  • I know stupid twelve year olds that got that right, does that make them mathmaticians?

god Verizon get it right or get out of the buisness

  • No they can't. Those call centers don't allow them to use any search engines or even a web browser for anything other then Verizon related things. They can't do as much as you think they can.

  • 1:53 Classic

  • wtf mate, that "hahaha" bit at the end scared the shit out of me

  • They're confused because they can't visualise a unit charge that doesn't perfectly equate to a physical unit of legal tender.

  • this is how phone companies screw over people whose English is a second language.

  • @killerlord1203 You had to google to ensure that you got the correction answer??

  • @davidle43 I think his point was that the Verizon employees could have done exactly that - a simple Google search.

  • Holy fuck that pisses me off.

It's not even a number issue, it's that the word CENTS and the word DOLLARS mean two different things. Some how these people don't get it.

  • I accidentally spat on myself midway through this. hilarious

  • wow, i would never be able to have this kind of patience.

  • @yankslosewoohoo Wow, no. It took me all of 3 seconds to figure out what the problem was. If you have a $70 discrepancy, do you just let it go? I want to sell you some things...

  • @yankslosewoohoo

Get that sand out of your vagina. It's not even a fucking math problem, it's that they don't understand the difference between dollars and cents.

  • @yankslosewoohoo You must be really stupid if you believe it takes hours to divide by 100. Perhaps you work for Verizon?

  • @yankslosewoohoo someone skipped 7th grade math class. yeah, it takes hours to work out a simple equation, right....

  • lmfao obviously if i want 5x3 to equal potato its a difference of opinion therefore if you say its 15 i will disagree with you but manage to still be correct.

  • Verizowned.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I feel this guy's pain. I was talking to an HP tech support guy who was literally telling me that it was impossible for my xw8400 to have 2 CPU's and that I was a liar...They shouldn't outsource to India

  • @nik722 Well in their defense very few computers have more than one CPU. Most have multiple cores or hyper-threading.

  • @nik722 Your system likely has a dual core CPU, not dual CPUs. If that's the case then he is technically correct, but he probably still didn't know what he was talking about.

  • @Bayshun The mother board on that system actually does have 2 cpu slots and it doesn't with only one cpu. I was mad at the tech guy because he was being rude to me without even knowing anything.

  • @Bayshun That mother board actually does have 2 cpu slots and it doesn't work with just one, which is what I was trying to clear up. The tech guy was being hella rude to me though

  • @nik722 It comes stock with one, doesn't it?

  • WOW... 2 thousandths of a dollar and 2 thousandths of a penny. That's "Murica" for you.

  • I'M NOT A MATHEMATICIAN MAN!!! Whats your deal brah?!

  • holy shit, the stupid hurts my face.

  • "I'm not a mathematician"

  • It's probably not stupid people, it's probably Verizon telling their people to do this

  • I don't want to live on this world anymore.

  • @tyler049

your gonna need a citation for that

  • hehe i no longer feel so bad about my own math skills

  • this is one of my fav videos ever. stupid people. argh :/

  • LMFAO!!!

  • Everyone probably wants to know...

This clip is just actually an edit of a 20 minute phone call, highlighting some of the best parts.

The whole thing is at verizonmath.blogspot.com. The guy did get the full adjustment to his account eventually. He also eventually received an admission of fault. The whole story is documented on the blog.

  • @whatabrother the fucked up part is, it took a fucking blog to get verizon to do what is right. all they care about is bad press and not customer service or even doing what is decent.

  • @blahblahblah962311 What do you mean?

  • Oh wow, it's not hard to see that there no dollars in the entire equation. it's like counting apples and claiming there were oranges in there.

  • thats why you roll with at&t lol

  • Today my math teacher showed this video to my Math Analysis class and we all thought it was hilarious! One of the students actually predicted at 1:50 that she would say no and when she said it everyone started laughing so hard.

  • @UNSCpilot95 5th hour?

  • you don't even have to be good at math to understand this

  • did he ever got compensated and a formal apology? wow warning to never get Verizon

  • ha verizons stupid...thats y i have att :D

  • go figure….the one time when the person who answers the phone isn't from india, you wish they were. they might not speak english well, but i'm sure they can handle 3rd grade math.

  • he should stay in east asia for 2 years. and he will be god of math

  • This man has the patience of a saint.

  • @SpazzyMcGee1337 I was screaming at verizon through my computer screen just watching this. This was absolutely brutal to listen to.

  • I like when she says it's a difference of opinion, as if math was some kind of philosophy.

  • I'm 14 years old, pretty good in school, and I was amazed that they didn't understand the different. I was looking for other things, but it was simply and plainly just the difference between cents and dollars, they didn't understand.

  • numbers = a difference of opinion?

  • Omigawd verizon was stupid

  • there is a reason why places hire idiots...

  • unbelievable! what have we come to? Even the manager could not figure it out- I wonder how she manages the store without knowing how to use numbers...

  • "I'm not a mathematician" O RLY?

  • Hey did you get an apology??

  • When I use 0.02 cent of service, I am charged for 0.02 cents, BUT there is no such thing as 0.02 cents, so I would be charged 0$

and the total is just the times I got charge 0$, so I got the service for free

  • @dragonlorder Are you speculating? Or did this actually happen to you? Because there IS such thing as 0.02 cents when dealing with a product in volume.

  • @antihax91 lol its just a joke.

  • @dragonlorder There is not such thing as 0.02 cents? Remember that the next time you buy gas price at 2.99 and 9/10th of a cent

    ,

  • it's okay to get confused in the beginning and not catch onto the mistake quickly, but to keep arguing without seeing what is indeed wrong is BS! Good thing I got AT&T...though I might as well keep track of my bills to see if they're following Verizon's lack of math skills route XD

  • LOL i hope you paid 71.79 cents XD

  • Your good with math but still can't spell very well : )

  • @ccann26 You're

The point is that you don't have to be good at math to understand this.

  • All Americans don't work at Verizon.. So saying that this confirms that we're stupid.. Is just ridiculous.

  • @xCirca1994x No, but the fact that 1/5 of you can't locate the US on a world map, and the hilarious state of your public school system, and your overwhelmingly stupid gov officials pretty much confirms these suspicions.

  • @crywolf30 Sorry, Bro. I'm not in that 1/5. I attend a Blue Ribbon school which means it's one of the best in the country. Sorry, I can't be used as an example /:

  • @xCirca1994x Another fantastic example of American intelligence. I never said you were one of those 1/5, did I? I only said you were part of that 5/5.

  • @crywolf30 Whoa. I was just stating that I could locate the country I live in on a map. I agree with you that some Americans are.. a bit below when it comes to IQ but I really can't help there. I can only speak for myself. Chill out.

  • This doesn't do the people of the USA any favours...the world thinks Americans are stupid. This video merely reaffirms this notion. There just happens to be a very small percentage of the population with near genius brains housed in a university called MIT

  • @Sonneybouy Don't forget about Texas A&M. Plenty of incredibly smart people there. Maybe even more so than MIT. So I've heard, anyway.

  • i wonder if they are just playing dumb so they don't have to take responsibility and reduce the charge hahahha. how can people be this stupid, it makes no sense

  • so funny!!!!!!!!!!hahahah

  • It confuses me how stupid people are......

  • There are so many smart guys here who are really good at primary school mathematics!!! However, don't you guys see that the price of .002 cent/kilobytes is not reasonable and the Verizon guys just pretend they don't understand the math because otherwise they have to pay huge for all similar cases just because a simple typo.

  • @maplerstone If I were writing the laws, I would allow judges to set 'reasonable and prudent' interpretations of contract's terms. For example, if I agree to sell you a Rolex Submariner, and the quoted price for the watch in the contract is 'USD$5.000', the reasonable interpretation is five thousand dollars, even though it technically reads five dollars.

  • this is why they should have permit before having kids...can you imagine those people havings kids? They gonna ruins our gene pool

  • this makes me feel really smart ^_^ haha

  • It is less than a dollar... and they get 71.79... Are they speaking in dollars or cents? How much did you pay?

  • so how do we all know that this isnt fake?

  • Omg rofl. "Difference of Opinion." This is simple math. There is only one right answer, not multiple. 1+1=2. 1+1 =/= 21094319503275.

  • Oh my god this is so painful to watch

  • This is the guy who draws xkcd.

  • Who's the stupid one, the reps, or the people trying to reason with them...

  • @enzofx how is he stupid for trying to reason with them? they are overcharging and ripping him off by giving him wrong rates....

  • i am twelve and i can tell these people are BBRRRAAAIINNNLLEESSS!!!!!

  • I would have taken this to the BBB and shown them how stupid Verizon is.

  • For reasons like this is why I will never use Verizon

  • 1:51

    "No"

    ROFL

  • stupid people...

  • these ppl r working at a call center for a reason. they prolly havent gotten their GED yet

  • "I'm going to post this recording on my blog."

OH SHIT YOUR BLOG? HOLY FUCK IM SCARED! LOLOLOL

  • Can't tell if trolling... or just very stupid

  • wow america is fucking stupider than i thought

  • yeah, says the guy who thinks "stupider" is a word -_-

  • ...he explained it so clearly. How did she not understand 0_o

  • i actually do get what he's saying and it makes perfect sense. I don't get how not everyone understands..maybe this is why America is so low ranked in math

  • well obviously there's a difference of opinion... i fuckin lawl'd so hard

  • Verizon. . . woooow. Obviously math isn't a required skill for that particular job position XD

  • This incents me

  • i dont want to live on this planet anymore

  • That was awesome!!! Who ever that guy was, I hope he fought to the teeth. There is a huge difference there. I'm taking math for Elementary teachers and we were discussing that last week! Kudos to who ever was making Verizon look like crazy people who can't do their math. Lol.

  • Verizon is fail. To anyone who doesn't get it let me explain. Say you have 1 dollar and 1 cent. Now multiply that by let's say 20 and you will have 20 dollars and 20 cents. So let's say you have for example .2 cents, ok that is 2 tenths of a cent. So .2 CENTS times 10 is 2 cents. Not 2 dollars. If you have .2 dollars, you have 20 cents. Its 4th grade math people.

  • Math is NOT A MATTER OF OPINION. And P.S., A grade 6 can do this math. Seriously, whoever thinks Verizon is correct, obviously didn't pass grade 8.

  • @gpb42 Would you rather pay $71 or $0.71?, learn math.

  • @gpb42 Are you retarded? They claimed he would be charged 0.002 cents per kilobyte yet charged him 0.002 dollars. 0.002 dollars = 0.2 cents, 100x more than they said they would charge. If you signed up for a long distance phone service that offered to charge 5 cents a minute then found out you were charged 5 dollars a minute, wouldn't you be pissed?

  • im calling troll here. there's noooo way these people are that stupid. no way.

  • Canadian and US school system = fail

  • Although they are retarded, he could have explained it better. He should've explained one cent is like a pie and it takes 100 pies to make a super pie... So .002 super pies is like cutting up a pie into five pieces and then eating one of those pieces, but .002 pies is like cutting a pie into a thousands pieces and eating two of those slices... I don't know, something like that... it's actually pretty hard to explain.

  • THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MATTER OF OPINION.

  • @brilliantbroonette

Is 2+2=4 or = 5? OBVIOUSLY A MATTER OF OPINION. :DDD

  • scam

  • To whom it may concern,

There is no need to try and explain what the video is about... You're not proving anything by knowing the difference between cents and dollars...

    Thanks.

  • *epic facepalm*

  • Jesus...if you do .002 CENTS times his kilobyte usage, the number is still in CENTS. 71.79 CENTS. these tards don't realize that. Then that would equal .7179 DOLLARS

  • It's .002 dollars and .2 cents.

If you watch on he's trying to use variation between dollar and cents to add confusion for the audience and the Verizon customer support person.

$0.002 IS EQUAL TO .2 cents. In order for them to calculate it in a dollar amount they use .002. dollars, and the same as .2 cents. Really people...you're idiots.

I decided this needed to be put in a better way. There are 100 cents in a dollar, hence the reason for $0.00: so if you have .2 of a cent then it's .002 $.

  • @softwolf42 But their price wasn't .2 cents, it was .002 cents. If it was .2 cents then yeah you're right, but they quoted .002 cents and repeated it many times over. Listen next time.

  • it's called 'culture clash'. Canadians are half-decently educated. Americans don't HAVE that option. And you wonder how Americans fucked up their own economy!

  • Leave the store clerk aloone !!!!!!!

    ANd MEEE !!!!!!

    You guyz are just HetrZZZZZZZZZ

Whatever I know Im right, I took statistics and high school.

  • wait a sec, i retract my statement, that was a different video

  • The original one of this with the actual person is way funnier to watch because you can see his expressions haha but this was funny to hear again!!

  • .002 equals .002

Gosh I really dont know wat is so hard to get.

It is simple math and she was right

Please tell me that all you peoples are not that stupid pleease.

You cant just beleive him because he puts up a dumb video.

  • @TheFurrySmurf You're kidding right, sure .002 equals .002, but when you have .002 dollars and .002 cents; they do not eqaul each other!

  • @TheFurrySmurf WOW....you must work at verizon, don't you?

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLL

  • 9 people believe this is a matter of opinion. lol

  • Fail! Thank God I left Verizon!

  • lol its a difference of opinion my ass what a dumb fuck.

  • It shouldn't be possible to be this dumb. ~hits head on desk~

  • Verison fail, concept fail.

  • Anyone know where to get the full version?

  • Why I have Sprint :D and that's 4X faster than Verizon

  • This is where an mba lands you

  • Comment removed

  • *facepalm*

  • "stewpod"( bloomaiblity ) manager

  • I can tell you from my experience today that Andrea is still a supervisor and her customer service still sucks. And she still sucks at math. If i could get any other service I would cancel Verizon in a heart beat.

  • lol its so simple....... its not 0.002 cents its 002*35896=0.71792....0.71 and 8/10 cents for 35896 kilobytes...

  • if you guys go to his blog, you can listen to the entire 30 minute clip. (that's 0.5 hours btw)
