Marriage is not a good deal for men. At the later ages of 70 plus men have an advantage. All i see is a bunch of guys crying because they've been fucked over in a marriage/ relationship, or their wife is bored and dosn't want to fuck them anymore and trying to find excuses for why this is the case when really, shes fucking the neighbor's son!
In my opinion its up to the guy to keep it new and fresh, the day you take your marriage for granted is the day she starts losing respect towards you and for her I imagine it would be unattractive.

@chiefnavarro1 I have the impression that the thing that can kill it fast is routine, its the hardest thing to stay away from as it creeps up on you so fast, unknowingly! If you've found a woman that knows that life isn't going to be easy all 365 days of the year, and she sees that you show dedication to continuously keeping the relationship new and fresh the best you can (minimal effort really just show some motivational), and I think that is the secret!

@DetoxMansion To me it sounds like the father would just let the mother raise the child, the raising of a child is a 50.50 of both parents efforts and love. And I dont think you become second place, I have the opinion that you stay in the position of her dedication/ love and devotion. The person she seeks in times of woe.
In terms of attention yes it may go to the child, but in the end she feels empty without the love of her man who inturn looks after her.

There are marriages with happy couples. Of course, not all relationships are healthy and functioning but stop being so dramatic and acting as if marriage means suffering for all. Marriage does have sacrifices and this is a very individualistic culture - very little people care about family and the group before self. I'm not labeling it as bad - I like individualism. But it is part of the equation.

this is bullshit. The reason guys dont get laid in marriage is cause they are the ones who stop investing into the relationship and romance. They get the idea that since they are married their job as far as romance conquest is over.
But ask any guy that does get laid, and ask him what he does to get laid. Hes always taking her places, treats her like its the first week that they met. And BAM!!!, he gets laid. Im married, but I still need to invest to keep the marriage going.

The video title and some video comments here have an extremist leaning. People get married for all sorts of reasons, not all of which are entirely irrational; ie. health care benefits, $ for college, etc. In addition, prenuptial agreements can help protect financial resources. Thus, while I have serious doubts that marriage will ever be right for me, ruling it out entirely seems as irrational as making it the prime focus in life (as the American culture unfortunatly encourages people to do).

Marriage is a long-term sex payment. Women give it up for money, no doubt about it. Instead of paying 150 bucks for one night's sex (hooker, or 3 dates with someone you're dating), you sign away all you will ever earn and your next 30 years paycheck & mortgage to get (maybe) 5 years of (good) sex. The second you marry, women have you by the balls, and they dont want you to know this untill....its too late.

@embracingreality the sad thing it is not really their body images that go down. They are smart enough and manipulative enough to use that against us to deny sex. The reality is when they gain weight that have less energy, hormones are out of wack. When you are 210 pound women your sex drive naturally goes down. It becomes to much work for them. Denial of the problem or justification of it or the failure to do anything about it essentially makes the situation hopeless in a persons life or that persons spouse. I see a lot of men who are reasonably fit, active who are in relationships with women who are overweight or even morbidly obese. In most cases I know damn well she's changed..
