  • The videos were always hokey, but their songs were the very opposite; kept you dancing and kept me cranking up the volume on my radio/cd player/tape deck/iPod (I STILL have 5-Star tunes on it now)...

  • Despite crimes committed against the ozone layer w/those hairdos and a lil too much makeup (ok, a lot) during the 80s, I have a fondness for 5 Star. They did a wicked cover of (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons. Since their (dad)manager is Jamaican, he probably made them record that one, but it was a big hit w/ reggae fans. Big Up 5 Star!

  • Love em"!

  • It always reminds me of bright, blue sky saturday mornings, watching cartoons, ABC weekend specials, & Soul Train to hear the latest sounds of the decade. Music had such a magic to it. ^_^

  • i went to school with delroy and thanks to fb were all been reunited

  • This was out BANG in the middle of my high school years and so is about as '80s as things can get for me. It was just seen as disposable pop at the time but now brings with it everything from that era.

Now, where's my Chrome Burner & ghetto blaster?

  • <3 I had the ONLY crush on Denise. <3

  • the 80s was a fashion disaster PERIOD!! the 70s was cool and smooth the 90s was urban but the 80s was like WTF!!!

  • @touggie2000 Oh, I don't know...I loved the off the shoulder look, although I wouldn't have been allowed to rock it back then (lol). And my brother who was a B-boy back then, used to dress pretty fly, even for the 80s. I was shocked to see some boys rockin' a similar look (like those kids in the Dougie video) last summer. Kinda brought a smile to my face. Not to mention name belts never really went out of style. It's the 'upscale' stuff that was pure cheese.

  • This video is the JACKSON 5 in an alternate reality.I remember being in high school watching MTV and VH1 and just watching with eyes wide shut.(y'all, don't get my point)Oh,my,God, I'd be in total ecstaasy and joy just watching the video.I didn't know who this multi-talented family was or where they came from.all I know is how they made me feel and that's very very happy.Thank you 5 Star. thank you. Class of 1986---Leto High School,Tampa,Florida.

  • I always think of janet jackson when i hear Five Star:)

  • Whenever I am in a long line I sing this song. Every now and again someone remembers the song.

  • I still have the cassette. Love their music. One of the brothers, Delroy I think, looks like the guy that played the older Michael in the American Dream Jackson 5 movie. The actor passed soon after the movie but he does resemble him. Tieuel Legacy! in Motion

  • 5 stat what happend too you. brill. still are,

need to do a come back like all others are.

  • @duffers121 5 STAR are coming back sometime in 2012

Cant wait another minute as im a massive 5 star fan

  • their dance steps were prolly better than any group in da 80's....they didnt fuck around....at 2:39 they really get down, lol

  • i remember this...i used t love this damn song... : )

  • i love the dance!

  • @Laurennnnn96 At least five star can sing and move not like the crap music we have today

    BRING BACK THE 80S

  • @Rusbridge2012 geez, i wasnt hating, i dont even know the guys. It's just if you watched the video (/watch?v=UgH048XJRUM) someone phoned in live saying that and it made me laugh :)

  • @Rusbridge2012 there are singers out there today: Adele, Lana Del Ray, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Christina Aguilera, all sing their faces off. If you like support them. Lana is out now singing her ass off; support her. Adele & others. People complain about singers today but when they drop records nobody supports them: Amy Winehouse, Jenifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera's last record. If you want to hear great vocalist support great artist & stop focusing on the one's that cant sing.

  • Another talented family heavily influenced by the Jacksons, look closely see Micheal & Janet,,, nice

  • Britian's answers to the Jacksons indeed. But they were so cool.

  • I saw Denise tonight in the west end show Respect la diva...she was fantastic..steadman and the rest of the five star clan were in the audience...but denise stole the show....

  • Britain's answer to The Jacksons

  • Comment removed

  • You know whats funny, thay remind me so much of the jacksons. When I first seen them on mtv in the 80s, I thought it was rebbie, latoya, randy, tito, jermaine, with their own gourp, hahaha,

  • 5 star were wicked - was in junior school and remember dancing with the fittest bird to this tune. if only i had it on video to see now. then again...

  • braces finally gone

  • they are touring uk in 2012

  • The pickled onions were a nice touch! So 80's!

  • This was my favorite song and video of their's. They were good dancers and she was a great lead singer. Their parents should have been very proud!!!!!

  • cant wait till they come back its very soon people

  • I love this song. Dont know why its hard to find. I loved Denise and Lorraine.

  • I was in love with Denise back in the day, her accent used 2 blow my mind, i wonder what's up with her?

  • I agree with your description Denises' vocals are outsanding they are indeed. amazing

  • Shame the money went to their heads ... buying Lamborghini's at 17 years old LOL

    The wasted the lot

    Classic 80's sound though

  • @xoio Did they do an UNSUNG on them? I would love to see UNSUNG (behind scene dopcumentary with lil known info on black celebs! I have Cablevision so no TV1

  • @719kai719 that is exactly what I had been thinking for a while..."somebody needs an UNsung"

  • @babyEroose that would be cool:)

  • This is my first time seeing the video and I'm 38 years-old and I still love the song. The lead singer still reminds me of Janet Jackson.

  • It's Denise Pearson's Birthday today. Happy Birthday D!

  • Oh this brings back memories! I loved 5 star too!

  • Love this track.

  • I love this song!! to be honest, i prefer the 80's and 90's to modern day songs. Five Star are amazing!

  • They always looked, sang, and dance like offspring of Micheal Jackson and Prince.... they were good. I wish that they would have done more

  • I use to looooooooooooooooooooove them and the dance moves!!!!!!! 5 star cant wait for the 25th reunion

  • This was my jam when I was in kindergarten. I used to love this song and this group!

  • Oh my gosh, my boy made my night! For so many years, I looked for Five Star forever and just to see this video brought me back to 1984! I also loved "All Fall Down"! Why did they ever quit making music?! :-(

  • i loved five star listening and watching again it brings back so many memories

  • OK - so some GREAT news for any 5 Star fans.... After 15 years apart, all five siblings are reuniting for a new exclusive UK tour in 2012 !!! To coincide with the release of a new album, Lorraine, Denise, Doris, Stedman and Delroy will be taking to the stage one more time in their REUNION TOUR... For details check out fivestarontourdotcom and join for advance notification of tour dates!

  • I <3'd Five Star!!! omgggg!!! I was 6 when this came out...I MISS THE 80s...

  • This is why I love the 80s.

  • I love 5Star (own the CD thanks to Goodwill and yes the songs are on my Ipod) but I used to put on my brothers football shoulder pads with my moms trench and imitate them for a laugh. The only thing I hated about the 80s was the shoulder pads...had women looking like American football players.

  • shoulder pads ftw!!!

  • @weds9994

    LOLOLOLOLOL

  • I remember this group I bought the cassette. I played it to death. what happen to this group. they remind me of the Jacksons.

  • they look awesome love their moves so much :-)

  • I think i foud it:

    Roxette: View from a hill.

...... I'm not certain, though, since several of the songs on Roxettes "Look Sharp" album uses tones of this kind .....

  • Great song .......

But ..... i know i have heard something of it elsewhere .... i think it is a song that Roxette did, that gives .... echoes .... from this .... it's not one of their more known ... i guess it was a bit inspired by this song.

  • This brings back so many memories. Love this song!

  • Holy shoulder pads and hair, Batman!

  • I'm back in junior high! hehehe Too funny.

  • @dillydally58 They still do show in the UK. Well three out of the five do.

  • This is a hot song with real talent -singing and dancing.

  • I havent heard this so in soooo long. It was the jam!

  • I read they are working on a new album

  • poor five star. so good for such a short time. and then they blew it by trying to be 'adult' [rock the world] and forgetting the tunes.

  • love love loved them. had my first ever crush on denise when i was ten!

  • Wow ths tks me bck

  • I forgot how big the f'in shoulder pads were!! HA!! Everyone was wearing them. Who came first, Five Star or Janet Jackson? One of them wins for best moves for the timeframe.....

  • I forgot how big the f'in shoulder pads were!! HA!! Everyone was wearing them.

  • Lets hope so @Lady Challenger"))))

  • Where are they now? They're probably filthy rich and chilling somewhere.

  • its Denise period. her voice made them.

  • 32 dumb ass didn't like this song, apparently they don't know real talent and music.

  • @honeegrrl 32 out of 340,185 cant be bad real talent i still have their cassettes awsome!!

  • Wow. 32 dislikes? WT?? Oh well. I love this song and love Five Star.

  • This song lacks energy and rhythm, just sounds like a flat song. Her vocals and music choice just don't move this song. I think her best song is easily "Love Take Over".

  • @Man18Colts You're an idiot and your infantile head lacks a brain. "Love Take Over" is typical soft - childish - adolescent stuff. Nothing wrong with that but don't compare it with this song, pathetic sissy.

  • @Man18Colts This is a Five Star song not a Denise song, Five Star were a group. Denise's vocals in this song are brilliant, she hit notes most of todays 'singers' can only dream of

  • Good solo, average pop music when i was a kid that seems much more sophisticated than the musical Mcdonalds X factor style pop that's about today

  • Even though I'm 50 years old. I still find Five Star just as entertaining now as they were back in their day. It's a beautiful thing.

  • i love the choreography. i wish i could have seen them in their prime live.

  • Back in time . wwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in time just love it.

  • OMG! I forgot this song existed, but when i heard it, memories just came flooding back. Love it.

  • All I can say is Danceability.

  • I don't really remember this song... (or this group, tbh To be honest)

    What happened to them?

  • @Getrealpeeps Wot? Really? They were quite popular even in the US... but I bet now they're eating beans on toast... and not by choice... "Can't Wait" was quite the hit in both the UK and the US (and probably Canada, too... though probably not in Australia) So was "All Fall Down", "Rain or Shine" and "Let Me Be the One"

  • @Getrealpeeps As far as I know, Denise is still performing and the youngest child Delroy is a record producer. He did Amerie's most recent single "More Than Love".

  • yeah that's right Denise is the lead singer! what's up girl

  • slow tough holding out, this is one of my favorite songs too, And the lead singer has a fabulous voice, I could model this example for my training vocals

  • where are they now...remember some scandal, and as usual the "gentlemen"of the press tore in to them and they faded from our screens...was it something to do with the tax man...not sure....but what a waste they were definately great....maybe they will reform like all other eighties groups seem to be doing, would be good to see them again

  • @dodgysparks i think they went broke

  • I had this cassingle in my car back in the day - it's was the shit!

  • @SuperHypnoman v=CAxlumI9y5o

Add the above after the ? on your youtube address above for the live performance of this track.

  • i miss music like this

  • have you seen this woman lately? she is friggin beautiful! maybe she's a cougar so i can have a chance lol

  • I have a vague recollection of this...and it was shit way back then too :)

  • i been looking for this damn song forever!!!! my sister used to play this song when i was little all the time. talk about bringing back my childhood right here. i just remembered the hook and never forgot it. i love youtube sometimes.

  • @SuperHypnoman where u got this info from?..the info about them having ghost voices? because they kept recording hits in the u.k years after they left the R&B charts here in the u.s...im sure it would have been mentioned somewhere during all those years.

  • @SuperHypnoman you are full of shit, think you are confusing five star with milli vanilli, its been said before about how well they perform in the studio so your theory is rubbish...sorry to burst YOUR bubble

  • @SuperHypnoman Type in the Crunchie Tour 1986 and the Ultrabrite Tour 1987 to hear teenager Denise's beautiful voice sing as well as dance her heart out to all the old classic hits including this one LIVE! No lip syncing whatsoever. Both tours which took place all over the UK were sold out. The Denise is up there with the greats when it comes to vocal ability & performance but severely underrated. She should have left the siblings like Michael did and gone solo earlier on like in the late 80s.

  • I'm not too proud to admit that I was a 5 Star junkie in junior high...i wanted to be Lorraine...and sing like Denise...luvs this group!

  • British 80's talent at it's best (along with Loose Ends). Brings back great memories!

  • I'll say this group had great dance moves for its time.

  • Ohh this song brings back memories....this particular song at the time..i was soooooooo sick of it..because it was played like crazy..fall 1986

  • This song only got to #41 on the Pop charts in 1986, and I really am suprised at that

  • this is my favorite song by them..even though I liked all of their stuff

  • i got this on record 1986 .reminded me when i went camping in wales snowdon ,,,

  • One of my Favourite songs they ever did , shame they went bankrupt and spent all the money , Denise`s voice still gives me goose bumps ....

  • PLAYED THIS SONG SO MUCH MY MOM THREW MY ALBUM OUT THE WINDOW!!

  • I have never heard of this group before or this song.

  • I Love This Five Star 1986 Music Video, "Can't Wait Another Minute," Which Became A Top 5 Dance Hit In America.

  • great vocals.....great memories. :)

  • there is no words to describe the immense feeling of nostalgia and happiness that i feel when i hear this song...i always loved Five Star

  • @blacklily74 Me too. I was in my teens when I saw them on TV. I loved them as much as I loved the Jackson's. What's funny about one thing then I hated the blonde hair on the sisters but now it doesn't look bad to me at all with black roots and all.

  • @blacklily74 here here

  • @blacklily74 You seriously took the words out of my mouth!!.

  • my shit!!!

  • All I think about is bein back in the 8th grade when I listen to this song,I LOVE IT

  • The lead singer reminds of Jordin Sparks. Weird....

  • oh to go back to before 1986 i lost my dad when i was 11 and all these songs remind me of the person i lost

  • Its listening to songs like this and seeing this video that makes a person appreciate growing up or just experiencing the 80's

  • Classic! I wonder what simon cowell would have made of them if they'd turned up turned up at one of his orchestrated talent shows for a audition?

  • u all got them Kingdoms ready?

  • soon he arrive.

  • I remember being extremely happy when I heard this song by 5 Star because I knew that there was no other song out there that could beat it. Remember folks, 5 Star is one of those bands that was just as big as Michael Jackson, The Beatles and Elvis. Think about that. I have followed these cats since Delroy was 14. For 25 years.

  • I had an INTENSE crush on Lorraine!

  • one of my all time favorite song and group.

  • These are one of the best 'HIdden" RB group of the 80's. 80's best fun decade Ever! Miss those 10 years, best of memories

  • Oh this is the song right here!

  • Next to the Jets and J5, their precision dances moves were on point

  • 80's great time

  • 80's great time

  • ahhh happy days.

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this joint since foreva!!!

  • Great song, but I especially love Denise's vocals from 2:56-3:16.

  • me too...she sounds a little young young whit....and of course MJ

  • hey why am i getting negative responses i wasnt saying it in a bad way im just saying every lead singer has probably went through it !!!!!!!!!

  • just think,if you dont smoke,an lead a clean life,an drink yo milk, you to can grow to be fine like these ladies did.....im still in love with the sisters

  • my girlfriend sitting here singing this, my god what a noise lol

  • this was my favourite 5 star song!

  • @mistressmozart I was just about to say that myself!

  • i still know the moves how sad!

  • Sad? Nah...that's actually cool because I'm trying to learn them, lol.

  • Sad! denise is a what if? what if she had gone sole just after silk and steel. she really had a soul voice. this song makes her vocals shine. i would like to know if she has regrets.

  • I remember seeing a video on them and what they were up to on here on YouTube, and they were trying to get back into the biz. But this must have been YEARS ago, lol. I think they still do some stuff behind the scenes. I hope they come back because I love them. But no, the fact that you still know the dance steps isn't sad at all. You should see how many vids I know the steps too, lol.

  • she probably does i'm thinking everybody was in her ear saying that she did'nt need them and she or they daddy turned it down or she didnt want to leave her family hanging in the wind !!!!!

  • cool track lov it so 80s

  • ...unbelievable.... (smh)

  • Their best song!

  • Oh my god I'm having flashback I can't wait another minute 5 star great funky group

  • and thanks for the tip Gemini!!! those annotations drive me nuts!

  • one of my very f
