Wonderful! I think you really did a great job here.. I might try it myself.. I'm blown away at your attention to detail and your ability to retain it's original style. This is my favorite iMac as well.. Trust me, I do love my (2) 27" iMacs I sit in front of, but what a great style for a computer... Blows away the current design, in my opinion... Thanks!

Wow! Thank you to everyone. It's great to know that I'm not alone in loving this design. One of my goals was to make this simple and reproducible. Even if you have no experience with modding, this can be done. Even if you don't go all the way with an all-in-one, you can turn it into an external monitor or a larger screen for a macbook. I have step by step guides and a parts list in my "Dremel Junkie" blog for the 17" and 20" versions. I am happy to help, suggestions and questions are welcomed.

So cool jberg! I've followed you for quite a while, and now my iMac G4 won't turn on after a memory upgrade, so I figure now is the time to do a mod.

If it's not too much trouble, could you make a complete list of what you'd have to buy to make this mod (or the list for what you would use today, if this have changed since you made your build). I'm really not that techical and experienced with DIY-computers, so such a list would really help me! :)

@TW1ST3DLOG1C I have a step by step guide on my blog. This lends itself much better to that format. A video would be a whole lot of me trying to get tiny male pins to join to tiny female pins. I have a detailed step by step for the 17" and am finishing off the 20" version.

Gundam, use of stand alone graphics posses some problems. To add a card that has substantially better performance than the on chip Intel 3000 has 4 obstacles. 1)Space: you would likely have to loose the optical drive. 2) Connectivity: the pcie mini on this slot is only x1 so even with an adapter the card will be limited. 3) Power: a real graphics card will push you beyond pico power supplies, you'd probably need 2, prob have to supplement with another pico or the native PSU (which doesn't f
