I appreciate the work done by cbradiomagazine but whats the point of this new radio! Bluetooth is supposed to be a wireless, hands free way to communicate yet you still have to reach for the mike and hold it while driveing. Try talking through the handheld mike while turning your rig and upshifting. Why not just buy one of the gazillion bluetooth headsets that are on the market and talk on the phone like everyone else! You don't need a CB to do that!
hey i have this radio works amazin love it but the truck sat for a while and now i have no swr readin at all the weather broad cast comes in good but i dont get any swr reading even if i hole the trigger down on cal it dosnt move what dose that mean do i have a bad growned on my antenna or what im confused any info will help
I sure wish Cobra would change the volume/squelch knobs and the dynamike and rf gain knobs. I'd prefer if the seldom used dynamike and rf gain were "ganged" like the current vol/sq knobs. Then I'd prefer individula volume and squelch knobs. My setup would make it easier to adjust volume and squelch without having to look at the radio. In a typical day I adjust volume and squelch several times. I seldom adjust dynamike or rf gain even once during the year. It's a minor nit to pick.
could u please give me some ideas of mounting it to my truck I just bought one of these and need some help with the functions thank you nice video well explained .....
Question: Hooked up this new CB and it did the same thing as the old one. When I hit the button to talk the lights on the CB dim way down and it beeps all the time. What could be wrong with the truck to make this happen?
do people still use cbs in the uk. i bought one a few months ago but usually i just hear static occasionally you get some convo ive been blaming my equipment and poor setup but it people dont use them then that answers my question
Should do a review of the new Cobra BT with Nightwatch, Soundtracker, and Weather. Is nicer than this one is. Has varible brightness, not just a switch,7 NOAA weather channels, and soundtracker for night operations.
Any advice for a rookie looking to get something like this (in the event, such as the ice storms of January, when cell phones no longer work)? How much do these cost and do they require a federal license to operate? Thanks! Comments and PM's welcome.
These can cost anywhere from $30 to $300+, but it does require an antennae, doesn't have a great range (but it's alright). CBs do NOT require a federal license. The only radio I know of that requires a federal license is a HAM radio license. These have a great range that can go around the world.
Hello RadiosAreMyHobby, I have the same radio. Was wondering what kind of mods have you done? Was there problems with the bluetooth function after the mods. I want to add a swing kit , add an amp and maybe rodger beep. Thanks
Is it still necessary to have a CB with Bluetooth function if an in dash stereo system has Bluetooth? (I know...dumb question but I'm totally ignorant in this realm... ) :o)
CB is still a good resource. We use it on the road when we travel, especially through areas with no cell coverage like the mountainous areas of W. Virginia. I use a President HR2510. Also have 250W mobile capability for extra range.
Thank you for taking the time to show us this radio and all its features. The only thing you didn't really hit on was whether or not we have to "key up" (press the side button) in order to talk on the bluetooth/phone side. In other words, do we press the button on the side to talk on the phone like we talk on the radio? Sorry to complain, but there might be other retards like me out there. The peaking modulation thing was a nice add on to this video. Great Job!!!
Sweet dude, I actually checked this out today at Radioshack. I just got into the scene a few days ago, from a friend of mine who totaled his truck and gave me his set up for free. Now all I have to do is find some people round here to talk to.
I'm planning to buy the cobra 29 LTD but I don't know which kind of antenna to get, I'm thinking the old 9 feet whip style antenna. What do you think? Any good?
you made a very good choice idk if you've gotten it yet, but i ran it for a while it's one of the best, if not the most convenient because of the magnetic mount

The 102" antenna is a grreat choice, you shouldn't have any problems.

I just ordered online the WILSON 5000 magnet mount antenna. I hope I've made a good choice. What do you think about that antenna? Works well?

arguably the 5000 is the best mobile mount on the market. i have a 1000 and it has functioned flawlessly.
