Thanks Tony - yeah house concerts are probably my favourite kind of gig. And when you're like me (not famous) they're probably the most viable gigs too :-)
Greetings Tony (and Mark!) Yes it was a special evening - Mark & Brenda are gifted in making this so! Very happy to see others sharing in the enjoyment of this moment thru the lense & mic. I agree with your comments! :) Blessings, Chris L
This really sounds nice, but man you are stealing views by posting this as a video response to a Kindgren video which doesn't have any relation to this video.
Thanx for the compliment about the Rowan lute vid - much appreciated :-) I can't remember the Kindgren vid I'm afraid - I must've posted the response quite a while ago - but something about it must've inspired me to do it, maybe I didn't have anything else remotely similar either but just wanted to show respect. Sorry, my memory's not too good on it, and I don't actually post responses very often so... ?
Yeah the lute has 4 strings, 2 close together which I use as drone strings, and 2 melody strings. From bottom to top the tuning on that vid is EAEA, so it gives me the key of A. But I make up all sorts of tunings for it, however that's a nice easy one to play as the intervals are the same as on guitar.
Dude, work off your aggressions before logging into youtube - you intentionally read the second comment page with comments written more than one year ago, just to pick out the one you can complain about!?!
Mark and I clarified this a long time ago, today we just enjoy each other's music!
Anyway, let's just forget this now, and listen to Mark.. I still love this tune!
Thanx for saying so - yeah a lot of people have said that about Alan's instruments. I often mention him in my intro to the lute at concerts, and people are always coming up after and wanting to look at it, or touch it, or know what kind of wood it's made from, and a lot of the time they're not musicians - nice.
a beautiful work! i keep coming back to listen to this while working on visuals

Thanks mate. A beautiful piece of music played on a wonderful acoustic instrument. My thanks also to Chris Lewis for recording it.
I love house concerts and the smaller, intimate venues. They seem to make you part of the music somehow.

Uh, nevermind ;-) ..
But hey, can you tell me what tuning you use on this lute? Could try it on the classical guitar for some impro.
Best Regards,
Johannes
