@wldhrt4evr You are welcome! It is AWESOME to hear that this video was beneficial to you. We are always glad to hear when we have helped someone out! Merry Christmas!
Madame get the biggest caliber which you can handle. It is not because it is small and easy to handle the recoil and you are going to get it. Get a bigger caliber which you can still control the recoil even at rapid fire. If you can handle a .45 caliber why not get it.
@wldhrt4evr madame it should be the caliber which you can handle its recoil that dictates what handgun you are going to get. Shot placement is easy to say that you can do in real fight that is not true. But if you have a bigger caliber which you can handle its recoil and you can do a good shot placement in real fight then it is best.
I’m ambidextrous I write left handed but my reflex is to pull gun out with my right hand and palm with my left when aiming. 3:28 was the best advice thanks for uploading!
.22 is for practice in my opinion you will probably not knock down someone with a .22 shooting him twice but you will with a 9mm or a .38 special or .308.
I've not really known much of what you explain in this video. Yesterday after purchasing the 9mm XDm and the XD .45, I paused the video and jumped on checking my grip.
I definitely got the right guns for me. Accuracy didn't lie.
I've always agreed with the sentiment of caliber not meaning shite. A .22 will kill you dead just as easily as a .45. Yes maybe when your talking about the gigantic magnums and such, you can talk about stopping power, put accuracy should always be more important.
when I buy a semi-auto such as a Glock or a Springfield XD, do I have to strip all the factory lube off and re-lube it before I shoot it, or can I just shoot it right out of the box? Which is the best approach to caring for a new gun?
@pete5668 I am not aware of "factory lube" for polymer guns. Glocks come with some copper looking lube and I would leave that alone unless you are cleaning your gun after shooting it. Honestly, this would be gun specific. I've owned Glocks, XD's, and Sigs never had this issue. I've just pulled them out of the box and shot them. Maybe things have changed over the past several years...
Maybe I'll make a How To Buy A Gun In Massachusetts video. Doesn't look like there are a lot of video's that go over the actual process, paper work and state requirements. It can be a real pain in some states.
@vanable123 Obviously you misunderstood what I said. If you don't spend AT LEAST $300 on a gun, any gun, then it probably isn't worth a crap. I never said that you will pick up any of the guns I mentioned for that price.
@brian47374 I have a S&W sigma .40 I bought for $270. Great gun. With that being said my other gun is a .50 Desert Eagle AE! I love that gun because I can handle it with my size while my other friends always shoot it with fear haha
Hey guys looking got get my first handgun. Can anyone pick the top three from these pistols. I'm looking for the most reliable and proven gun. I think I'll go with the glock 23, but would like to hear from people that know.
@turboMATRIX03 Yeah I plan to carry concealed. I think I'll get the glock 23. I guess that's the best choice for what I need and for my first handgun.
@JetMechMA , sure the Navy seals use a 9mm. But they can shoot a cunt hair at 100 yards. I ain't that good a shot, so I will use my M&P 45acp. That way if I shoot them & miss their heart or spine. I will at least knock their ass down... Then I will get close enough to put one in their head...hahaha
In my opnion, EVERYONE should start out shooting a .22. Shoot a lot to get used to the noise. Then get a gun that fits you. Start with targets up close and move them back as you get better with your gun. Learn the sight picture. But most of all learn gun safety. Pistols are great fun, so shoot often and have a good time.
Navy Seals chose the 9mm Sig P226. There's a video on here where the Navy Seal says caliber doesn't matter when he pumps two in your heart and one in your head. Won't make a difference to that enemy combatant. I'm sure in the case of obvious body armor, they reverse the order. ;)
The right choice of round makes all the difference, all you have to do is go hog hunting to see that first hand. I have seen guys pump a full mag of 9mm FMJs in a hog and it was still charging. The .45 will stop them dead in their tracks, you can site ballistic data all you want but what really counts is actually use.
@cbr6864 Contrary to popular belief a .45 will not knock someone down. You need to read the FBI's Handgun Wounding Factors and Effectiveness Report. It is simple physics. Anything short of a .50 rifle cal does not have the power to knock someone down.
If your THEORY of a .45 knocking someone down is true, then one should be able to put on a vest and be shot and go down to the ground from the impact alone. First of all, I am not saying that anyone should ever attempt such a thing. But, the impact of the bullet is NO GREATER than the recoil of the gun. And that is the bottom line...
@deadlifter410 Really? The gas under pressure IN the barrel are what propels the bullet. The bullet is the fastest when as it exits the barrel and that is why it is called muzzle velocity and not impact velocity. The bullet begins to slow down once it leaves the barrel. Gravity causes the bullet to slow down and not speed up.
@brian47374 I never said anything about muzzle velocity vs. impact velocity. Of course the bullet slows down once it leaves the barrel but that is due to wind resistance, NOT gravity. Gravity actually causes the bullet to accelerate towards the ground as the velocity vector of the bullet is no longer in the direction of where your gun was pointed but it is on a slight downward angle. Just look up charts on the internet that show the recoil energy of a 12 gauge vs the energy of its projectile.
@brian47374 i go hog hunting all the time and have stopped a 200lb+ hog dead in his tracks with a .45 Knock Down power doesnt literally mean to knock someone down . I really couldnt care less what some lab techs say i have seen it first hand many many times. Guys will pump a full mag of 9mm into a charging hog and it still keeps coming.
The .45 is a slow round with a lot of mass you combine that with a hollow point and its over. The wound channel from a .45 is huge.
@cbr6864 While I respect your opinion, shooting a hog & a human are not the same. A .45 wound track in a human being much of the time isn't much different (if any) from a 9mm. Gelatin isn't the same as the human body which is more resilient than gelatin & a hog. Penetration is what matters & .45s are really no better or even as good at penetrating. Bottom line... NEVER place your survival on ANY handgun round!
Thanks for your statement about the irrelevance of caliber. I have 4 pistols in 9mm and I am sick of hearing that 9mm is weak and ineffective. Trust me, 9mm is very effective. Ask bin Laden.
I owe you an apology. I was ready to react to your all talking video with some wise ass comment. To my thinking what you are saying makes good sense. I am close to 70 years old. I am paying for a life where I was very active and an effective fighter. I ended up with a good number of broken bones and now the thought of going toe to toe with attackers is pretty scary for me. Is your training applicable/adaptable to less physically able folks? I could use a mind set tune up.
@andrelemalle Thanks for your apology! Most people can use a mindset tune up. Yes, our methods are suitable for most people regardless of shape or size. Even with physical limitations the principles we teach can be applied to your limitations. Just keep in mind that the gun or tool is NOT the solution to your problem. You should avoid anyone who teaches that it is.

@tandis97 Obviously not, considering how you coudent buy any sort of firearm or ammuntion in the first place, considering that your 15 years old, and that its not legal to own.
G19 is what Im talking about..Glocks are light and a G19 being it is a 9mm caliber is very good for concealed carry and I heard it is so comfortable (depends on what type of holster u buy) you sometimes forget your even carrying a gun.

.40 is much snappier than a 9mm or .45 so i think you should shoot 1 first
i usually carry my glock27 and my g22 w/light for home defense
if its just a range gun or home defense then a sig226
i dont like the sigp250
hk mags are very expensive and the guns are over priced
cbp went from 400$ glock17 to 800$ hk p2000
the usp compact mags pinch my pinky finger
the walther p99 trigger is long and hard

G19 is what Im talking about..Glocks are light and a G19 being it is a 9mm caliber is very good for concealed carry and I heard it is so comfortable (depends on what type of holster u buy) you sometimes forget your even carrying a gun.
