@MrVicshuklanyc . Guru Dutt showed Calcutta/Bengal in Pyaasa because the story was written by a Bengali person. Guru Dutt was not Bengali. Guru Dutt came to Bombay straight from the South, Kerela area I believe. He was introduced to Bombay industry by Dev Anand. Guru's wife, Geeta Dutt(Roy before marriage) was from Calcutta. Sunil Dutt was not Bengali either.

Definately the best piece of art by Guru Dutt. Waheeda trailed him in all his movies beginning with C.I.D except Baharein Phir Bhi Aayengi. Film C.I.D was another saga. Guru Dutt production with Dev Anand in the main role. Guru Dutt was not permitted to be on the film sets in Dev's presence. Oh yes...............Dev and Guru were good friends till around.....1952/1953. After that, they never spoke to one another.

I love it!! My old neighbour looked like the lead role bloke (over in England) - I was 6 and he was 25 back in the '70's when he just arrived from India with his new wife. Beautiful people and beautiful song. They had beautiful kids too. Rock on India!!!!!

I have seen this movie [ Slumdog Millionaire]. Good "touchy" story being originally a book.

That era bout "poverty, snakes and elephants" have gone forever, my friend. Not that I am trying to flatter you but everybody knows what India is all about NOW.

Being from i friendly neighboring country and been to India many times, I have seen the difference compare to some 10 years back and all Indians should be proud of that, I sincerely believe.
