Kagome is abusive to Inuyasha. Sit is originally intended for comedic purposes, but in the end, when you think about this, this show is pretty serious.

The sit thing would have worked in Ranma, since that is in fact a comedy

But it's inconsistent in a show where there is a mature plotline-this show is intended to be serious.

There are other ways of creating a comedic effect than abusing a power, and being inconsiderate to your partners feelings.

It is true, Kagome is incapable of protecting herself, and survives throughout the entire show based on luck and the help of her friends.

She's pretty stupid-unable to do well in her school studies, carelessly wasting her future away in the Feudal era, without realization the heavy consequences on her grades in her ACTUAL era.

Her whole existence in the show is for marketability, and for returning the jewel to the feudal era. After that, the show could literally go on without her.
