  • Would those changes work with an automatic transmition?

I´m from Brazil and i will buy a 2000 EJ6 LX from my father, i´m thinking about some light mods, can someone help me?

  • Nice

    Hey I have. 1997 civic ex..it's a D16y7...but I've read they're not VTEC...but mine has the VTEC solenoid...????

    I'm lost

I just got 4-2-1's for it and it's chipped with intake..pulls nice...when I hit 3000rpm the whole entire sound of the engine and exhaust changes

It's like the VTEC kicks in...

Could it be a VTEC engine?

  • @1995camry1 Probably, previous owner swapped a vtec head on? With the y7 tranny?

  • Na ej1 all day

  • Were can i get a bisimoto cam i have a stock d16y7 motor

  • are bisi cams hard on valvetrains? they worth the investment for an na with bolt ons and a clutch?

  • very fast y7...props

  • i wanna get a really clean eg hatch and do an all motor d16 build sooo bad. i drive an rx7 but ive always had a soft spot for hondas..... and 9000rpm lol

  • @86touge Your rotary should be able to hit 9000rpm just as easily as a Honda. If not more easily. Not many Honda engines can hit 9000rpm and be stable about it, if they can even hit 9k at all. But regardless, I'd totally reccomend an EG hatch, those things are the bomb. I'm working on getting another one myself or possibly my old EF back.

  • love that sound

  • why using D non vtec engines ?

  • does any1 know how much power you can gain with bisi level 1 cams and gears?

  • wat can i do to my stock d16y8 engine to cain more hp

  • Oh wow, that pulls nicely!

  • what stage cam did you get. I got a stage 2.3 Nitrous cam. I can't say that I feel too much difference from the stock one I had before. I still feel my A6 cam was better then my Y7. However I still need to load the nitrous kit to put it through the paces it was designed for. I love the lope when idling cold start.

  • I found out why i wasn't feeling much difference, the engine was getting some spark ping from the timing being too far advanced, when I put the timing belt on the timing is off by one tooth which is like 10*. So when I retarded the timing i can feel the power much better.

  • I see a significant improement over stock.

Do you feel the Bisi cam made more power than the 272?

  • a small improvement on all power band over the 272, but nothing big. If you already have the 272, keep it, or go much bigger, they are equivalent.

  • Interesting. Thanks for replying!

  • @beletttte Et si l'on compare a un level 1 ou un modèle d'origine , la différence est flagrante j'imagine ? merci

  • would you choose bisimo over crowler cams

  • no crower available for non vtec

  • it would be a no brainer. Bisi has spent countless hours making everything hands down best for honda motors. He knows what he is doing and makes very high quality parts

  • i wanna steal your dash, you can fit an navigational system right in it. mounted as if its like factory.

  • throw on a d16y8 head or a d16z6 head and give it a good tune and your set for now.. nice power for a non vtec motor

  • I will do something like that, I made frankeinstein head, y8 casting with y7 valve train. I like non vtec, but with y8 advantages. Square combustion chamber and bigger ports.

  • did you ever get it tuned? whats your dyno numbers?

  • street tune for this one right now. No numbers.

Last setup was almost the same only 272 delta cam, very close of level two bismoto cam. 132whp.

  • is this a stock d16y7 with just cams and other mods? or is it a mini me with a vtec head and transmission?

  • stick y7 block, cam ,d16y8 intake and transmission, 4-2-1 header, exhaust, obd1 and crome tuning. Stock y8 transmission is a pain in the ass, it's still long geared.

I'll go turbo next winter ;)

  • i heard that the y8 trannys have alot of problems?

did you see good gain with the y8 tranny vs y7 tranny?

  • They are strong gear box, but bearings and forks wear fast. Not a big difference between these two gear boxes.1- 2-3 gears are a bit closer but very not much.

  • how much did you spent on the bisimoto cams and other mods you did to make 132 whp? with all that money you could have gotten a b16 at street price and still be faster.

  • This is not a money issue, b16 will make about the same on dyno jet, and about 2500rpm higher peak tq. I'm under 1000$ a swap cost more more than that. My gears are so long, it seems to be slower in fact, but with the same gearings, I'm faster due to a broad powerband instead of peaky b16.

    I don't like how b16 is pulling. Have I the right to do it like I want even It's a d16 ?

  • yes you do have the right, but thats why I asked you why you chosen that route and how much did all those mods cost you.. but your comparing your built d16 with a stock b16a. imagine if you were to modify that b16a however it will be more expensive though but who says making power is cheap? you say money is not an issue then I would have invested in a b16a then buy cams, port and polish, header etc.. you also say that your d16 peak torque is 2500 which is good but b16 rely on high reving

  • Because then he'd be like every other boring b16 swap on the road.

  • @gibsonxp totally agreed!!! you can boost a d16 for the price of a swap...and by the time you mildly build the B16 swap you just blew money on you could have fully built the d16 and turbo'd it up to like 300 hp :)

  • what do cams do?

  • Change the valve duration and timing, also open the a little further. V8 guys have been doin in since the 70s. Will liven up any engine though.

  • q podre este video

  • nice!

  • not bad not bad. check my gauge shot video of my accell in my Z6. only internal mod is A6 pistons, and piss poor oil pressure. let me know wut u think

  • Dude, that pulled like a Z6. I think you'd keep up with me and my D15B VTEC hatch

  • It pull much more than a z6/y8 swap in this plateform. dynoed @ 164 corrected cranck Hp

  • Dam I'm REALLY impressed!! I guess a dyno tune can do a LOT, then..?

  • This engine is built a bit, dyno and well choosen parts. I got a heavy '99 sedan. See what this engine could do in a 88-91 hatch or at least in 92-95.

  • it's not wheel HP, threw up 132 whp on a dynojet.

  • what do you run in a quarter....i read your biuld thread on d series

  • I never tried. I think it's in the low 15, maybe 14.9, around this.

  • a corvette!! vtec it vtec it nos it nos it high revving

  • Looks and sounds great man!

    Bisimoto is the shit!
