I saw him once live with Suicidal Tendencies en I rather hear them with their old ''less'' technical drummer. Dont get me wrong he is an amazing drummer but quite a busy one.
There are many examples of him playing musically, but when he starts playing really technically, he seems to have a lot more fun. He is amazingly talented in all forms of music, most notably for heavier styles though... not interesting but amazing nonetheless.
@MikeLBJ worth a dislike though? hes not trying to be musical, its a demonstration of pure drumming concepts and his insane ability to perform them flawlessly
@SuperDrummerJoe: Yes, worth a dislike (in my opinion). I really don't like these non-musical demonstrations. I think he's pretty unique in doing this: he may very well be one of the most technically skilled drummers on Earth (along with Virgil Donati, Akira Jimbo, Tomas Haake and so on), but no one has less musical taste than him. I mean, really: I've never seen a drummer of his skills playing ALWAYS without musicality (in almost every aspect of it).
@MikeLBJ Hmmm, He plays some very cool grooves in the between (ex @1:26) . Imo he IS very musical, if you look at some of his other videos, he puts accents on his basedrum and grooves in a way that it is obviously musical. Yes I agree that some of the parts of this video are just about speed and technique but he's a good drummer I tink, not only because of his admirable technique. SORRY bad english. :D
@xCessivePresure We only have different opinions. ;) In my opinion he is actually a great drummer, but I'd never put him in the same group as someone like Gadd, Colaiuta, Weckl, Steve Smith, S. Phillips, and so on. In other words, I don't believe he will never be an "Hall of Fame" drummer. That's it :)
@MikeLBJ fair point my friend, and very articulate for a youtuber :P although i have seen him play in a live situation and I think he has a very deep groove and musical appreciation for other musicians, however in this instance and in many others like it, your point is very valid.
Not one of his best clinics that I've seen, but he's still amazing.

He did not pass for dream theater because he put extra notes, extra details on portnoy´s drums...just saying what the band said

Is this music? I don't think so... Ugly and without any real musical concept behind it.
