  • Kind of unrelated sir but have you heard anything about the POf p308's ? or the pof p 415

  • I have heard, but have no experience with those.

    jeff

  • I have heard the front changing handle on these can be flimsy, any truth to this?

  • I don't think so. Seems really durable to me.

    jeff

  • @Badmusicpeoplelove not on mine!

  • Jeff, what's your optimum hand guard set-up? I.E. how do you feel about rails everywhere versus a few more strategically placed rails? Do you have a FAVORITE AR hand guard?

  • Any opinions on Del-Ton products? I have read about them being described as near mil-spec. They make a nice mid length upper. Unfortunately, I usually follow the "you get what you pay for" rule.

  • Del-Ton makes good stuff. There's an article in our ARCHIVE section, and a video here on YouTube.

    jeff

  • I love the concept. I just wish it had a mid length option. I always thought the carbine length was a little too short for my wants/needs on any AR platform. Great video. I think this is the first gunblast video I saw that was longer than 2 minutes???

  • Hey Jeff could you do or are you planning to do any reviews on any rock river arms AR-15's? I can't seem to find any reviews on youtube or the internet that I can trust like your website.

  • Hopefully I will get to do so. Rock River makes some very good rifles, and their triggers are much better than most.

    Jeff

  • What is your opinion of piston vs direct gas for weekend plinker, novice AR owner?

  • I find that one system works just as well as the other, and have no preference. However, if I could only have one AR, it would be as close to mil-spec in operation as possible.

    jeff

  • @jonmic666 i would stick to a Mil spec DI

  • Looks like a great gas system - how much are these running?

  • At 8:15 what brass catcher are you using?

  • That is a 3Bucc Brass Catcher. I've used them on all my ARs, for many years. There is an article (no video) WAY back in the Gunblast archive section.

  • how cool is that gun Jeff.....way past cool

  • "Threw" ..lol

  • Man, these guys through a lot of innovations into that rifle. I peticularly like the foward charging option.

  • This is a REALLY neat rifle.

  • What size buffer did it come with?

    Thanks!

  • you should do a review on Primary Weapon Systems firearms...some what similar

  • Jeff how do you break in an AR 15 barrel?

  • I just shoot a rifle. I do not have any particular ritual, do not say any chants as I dance around the benchrest, nor any other foolishness. It is a piece of steel. Shoot it, but don't let it get too hot to touch. Clean the bore when it needs it, every couple of hundred rounds or so if using plain-jacketed bullets, but you can go a couple of thousand rounds if the bullets are moly-coated.

    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Do not let it get to hot to touch for the first shooting or do I never let it get to hot to touch?

  • Great video!

Have you noticed any wear on the front charging handle cover? Were the rail holds the front charging handle. Thank you!

  • @m555c surprising no!

  • None at all.

    jeff

  • i sure love how JQ's videos have gotten longer in duration...

  • I dig that piston system.

  • Seems kinda like the ultimate AR-type rifle, really. Only downside is that it costs a friggin' fortune ... even by AR platform standards. Over a grand for just an upper? Yikes. I'll have to add this to my "must have" list for whenever I finally win the lottery... :-)

  • I enjoy your videos... Thank you for your time.....

  • those are the sights i bought for my bushmaster super light, once again another satisfying video

  • Very nice, what scope mount are you using?

  • Like it , / Want one , Good video

  • Nice video...looks cool

  • dude i love your badass beard

  • between this and the Ruger SR556 who are you more keen too?

  • @realcattleman honestly,this blows the ruger 556 away!it blows away the larue!

  • @bobsolla not trying to be critical or challenging but how so? i might just switch guns

  • @realcattleman i would first suggest going to the adcor defence website!then go to the locked and loaded channel on you tube and this will help you!

  • @bobsolla thank you

  • jeff, for the first time i`am ahead of you on this one!always asking you for advice!i`ve had this upper in the bear elite piston upper for several months!this is the new standard by which all rifles will be judged!not cheap in price, but built like a sherman tank in quality!this is a fn 249 saw barrel with a titanium op rod system,m16 bolt carrier group with dust cover,o-ring in extractor, properly staked, chromed bcg.you will not be dissapointed!l them about whites testing without failure!

  • Under pressure I think that picatinny rail on the side will TEAR OFF A NICE PIECE OF SKIN if you dont have gloves on.

It also looks like rail covers or mounting anything on the side will be problematic.

  • @EmpathyWorks not at all!i`ve had mine for several months!maybe if you had bankers hands!ha!

  • @EmpathyWorks just on the forward charging handle side, unless you decide not to use it!it is easy on your hands, unless you have baby butt hands!

  • hey Jeff I just got my first AR! can I get an AMEN??

  • ...in case you got some grenade launchers laying around....EPIC!!!!

  • @snoeplow you can get 37mm launchers that are able to launch flares, bird bombs, bean bags, tear gas, nets, .12 gauge shotgun shells, all kinds of stuff. they attach just like an M203 and they're loads of fun lol.

  • Those are some tight groups w/ the BB ammo! Excellent, does it come in other calibers?

  • @VeracityNation they have them made in different calibers, but not sure they are for sale yet!they come in lengths from 10.5" to 20"! in .223/.556!they `ve made them in 7.62&39,and 7.62&51 nato(.308)they are a military contractor and are designed for fully automatic!

  • i wish i was born in the south...

  • Is that a standard lower?

  • How much does that cost? A lot of good piston AR-based rifles often cost over $1500. Also, is the weapon left-hand friendly as in does it eject shells at just the right angle so that left hand users don't get hit?

  • No problem at all shooting from the left shoulder.

    jeff

  • Wow, I like that upper setup, what is the retail for one of those, and is it a Gas or Piston driven system

  • @Chris090883 this is a gas piston,although they have them i d.i.!

  • @Chris090883 he used a gas piston system!they also have d.i.!

  • Nice job Jeff, I really like that rifle; interesting configuration.

  • Impressive accuracy. Looks like a very well engineered system.

  • Accurate, nice rifle.

  • Well done! Michael Brown Adcor Defense.

  • nice vid

  • Very nice upper that adcor has done here. Very nice groups.

  • Many companies of piston AR's have claimed to address the issue of bolt carrier tilt. But after a good 2K rounds or greater have been cycled through their firearms, bolt carrier tilt damage has still occurred. It's happened in every piston AR design on the market. The AR15's bolt carrier & recoil system was specifically designed for direct-gas operation, not piston operation. This is why the AR18 & its derivatives (L85 & G36) used a redesigned bolt carrier supported by guide rods.

  • @Everett07630 okay everett07630!checkout their whites labratory testing!this will make you swallow hard!over impressive!no bcg tilt here!

  • @Everett07630 look at their white`s testing results and then say otherwise!

  • @bobsolla They need to do a better staking job on the guide rod / gas key replacement. Or better yet, make the bolt carrier one piece / monolithic with a permanently fixed guide rod and avoid the issue of a separate staked guide rod all together.

  • What experience do you have with the Adcor Defense BEAR rifle?

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Here's a good post on w w w . m4carbine. net/showthread . php?t=88729 detailing an individual's experience with the BEAR. The BEAR may still have some engineering bugs to be worked at out. I'm not about to spend my money on something that's too new until it's thoroughly proven. I won't be giving up my DI AR15 anytime soon. I'm also waiting to see Colt's new articulating link piston design - 6940P - if it's more superior than the current AR piston systems.

  • That's a 3Bucc Brass Catcher, I use them on all my ARs.

    3bucc-dot-com.

  • Dude, I love the ending guitar licks.

  • I could use this for my next deployment! Sweet rifle and a great walk threw of its functions and operations keep up the great work! Lefties lead the way!

  • Interesting. What do they cost?

  • @MrM2hb The upper is just under 2000 bucks but it will take any ar lower that you can supply. I don't think they sell a full rifle I havent looked at there website in about 2 months.

  • @TheSonofthunder7 they do sell a full rifle for $1575.00!you can purchase the lower seperately for $950.00!this is an outstanding piece of machinery!

  • M-4 profile Barrel needs to go. The forward charging handle appeals to me as a also shoot left. Solution to carrier tilt? Hmmm.

  • @MavHunter20XX no carrier tilt in this one!what`s wrong with a fn 249 sawchrome lined machine gun barrel?

  • @bobsolla You mean the M4 Profile? The thiner portion of the barrel is said to effect accuracy durring sustained firing.

  • @MavHunter20XX using a 14.5" barrel length, after 6000 rds. of 62 grain ball ammo they then shot some 69 grain match ammo at 100 yards and grouped .88 using a fn chromed lined barrel!yes fn!it says it on the barrel.m4 profile.

  • @bobsolla What rifle has the FN barrel? Are you talking about this one (ADCOR)?

  • @MavHunter20XX yes, this one or any adcor defence bear elite models!

  • @bobsolla Oh in that case forget it. J/K I'll take your word of it if this particular rifle works that well. I was talking about other AR-15's that has the profile w/ no appearant reasnon because how many civilians are going to get their hands on a 203? I'd rather have a HBAR fluted.

  • Its got a lot more power than the 22 cal or 223

  • Damn nice rifle.

  • That is one bad mammy jammer.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • Pretty cool rifle.
