Although not from Dundee i visited often being from Kirrie great video also loved the music, what is the name of the tune and who plays it Thanks Kirrie Kiwi Tauranga NZ.
I worked 11 weeks on the trams in the boiling hot summer of '55. We students had been taken on to allow staff their summer break as conductors were in short supply. Around £12 a week, including 'ham' (overtime).
The following year the T&GWU refused to work with us as Management hadn't consulted them first. Jist wee bairns!! We had to hang around doing nothing for 2 weeks, worked a week then were sacked. NOT the drivers' fault, they were embarrassed and very apologetic.
My Uncle was a tram driver in Dundee - he and his family now live in Australia. All the best Yvonne
