im so glad i grew up listening to social d. my mom loves social d, my dad loves social d. for some reason this song in particular reminds me of my dad and all the stories hed tell me of the 20 plus times him and his friends would go see social d and the adolescents and bad religion. he told me that the pool hall he used to go to in really did turn into 7-11 haha. I play guitar, I've never played guitar hero. I've heard it and I like how they seperate the guitar sound in the mix. I once saw a guy streaching out before he started playing guitar hero. I don't have to do that before I play real guitar. Anyways, great song and if the game makes people want to learn some chords and scales, right on. Someday, we'll all be reading interviews and watching videos from rock stars that wanted to play guitar because of guitar hero. Social D will influence them.

I play bass, guitar, drums, sing, backup, everything...but I still enjoy playing rock band every so often.

So rather than trying to be "cool" and say learn the real thing, some people have no musical talent, some just enjoy games. Live and let live.

I don't really see how learning a song from hearing it in Guitar Hero is any different to hearing it anywhere else. Surely if you actually like the song it doesn't matter where you hear it. And I don't get the argument that you may as well learn a real instrument, the point of the games isn't to teach you anything, it's to have fun.
