You might want to think about changing your bedding to sherd paper. The bedding you use will make them get URI. The healthier the mice, the greater the quality they are to your snakes. =) I learned that from my uncle. He used to breed mice for his snakes too.
They need seeds and oats. If you're feeding them alfalfa pellets they are going to be a very poor meal (nutritionally) for your snakes :(

That can't smell good at all. I breed rats, they don't smell like mice do.
