  • I see from time to time Ali referred to as having Parkinson's Disease - he does not. He has Parkinson's Syndrome. That's a fancy way of describing Dementia Pugilistica, or punch drunk. For those of us who have people in our lives who have the actual Disease, this is offensive. A man who brings it on himself, and gets paid millions and millions to do it, should not be placed in the same category as those people who are true victims

  • garethac81: I've seen idiotic posts on UTUBE ovr the years but, u my moronic friend, hav reached the apex of stupidity. Look at boxing critic's lists, Ring Magazine, the huge majority of KNOWLEDGABLE boxng fans, & Ali HIMSELF (i.e., aftr "Thrilla In Manilla", while collapsed on canvas, Ali says- "He is great! He's the 2nd greatest fighter of all-times - next to me"). Chk it out, douche. Smokin' Joe fawt w/ severely impaired vision in one eye since 1966 (fact, asshole) & look what he did in his

  • With all respect to frazier, Ali was and will remain the Best Ever champ of the ring!!!!!!!

  • the whole fight frazier was headbutting... ali is the king!

  • Joe cleared his ass...Ali didn't win the last fight.

  • @lady1champ2

Are you too dumb to remember that Ali beat Frazier in Manila...or was that an attempt at some kind of disgusting, offensive remark about Ali's Parkinson's?

  • the worst uppercut ali ever threw

  • RIP Frazier!!!

  • thanks Joe, what a heart, what a fighter.

  • Rip big man!

  • RIP to a true warrior.

  • @mreman2 Absolutely right mreman. Joe Frazier was a great champion. RIP, Joe.

  • The best fighter to have ever lived. He never gave up, fought till the end and he had the heart of a lion. No matter what anyone said to him, he didn't know how to lose. RIP Smokin Joe. I will always remember you. :-(

  • @TheLondonForever

"The best fighter to have ever lived"? Surely you know how ridiculous that sounds. Frazier was a fine champion, but it would take an extremely naive fight fan to rate him even in top 50 of all time...let alone #1.

Grossly exaggerating his achievements does nothing to honour his memory.

  • Rip Joe

  • GREATEST LEFT IN BOXING HISTORY

  • RIP SMOKIN' JOE

  • RIP SMOKING JOE!

  • In my eyes, the best pure fighter ever. RIP Joe Frazier. My hero.

  • I felt that left hook in my living room. RIP Smokin Joe.

  • 4:24 Rest in peace Smoking Joe Frazier!

  • REST IN PEACE JOE FRAZIER

  • Ali might have been the better fighter. But, Frazier kicked his ass that night.

  • RIP Champ!!

  • R.I.P Frazier

  • Wow, that shut Ali's poetry down for a while...probably contributed to his Parkinsons with that shot alone. My prayers are with you Joe. You are a class act brother.

  • Comment removed

  • So many left hooks throughout this fight. I don't think I've seen a better left hook. Frazier was also relentless. Both fighters were in great condition. I've been watching Ali fights all day and this was the best . Ali's biggest mistake is he fought Joe inside/from close quarters. I know Joe was relentless and really Joe deserves all the credit, I just think Ali should have used the ring and danced and stayed away from him.

  • WTF!?!?! WOW!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DIDNT PUT THE DECISION OF THE WINNINER IN THE VIDEO. Well I had Frazier winning 8rds -6-1 even round. Of course Frazier winning the 15th rd 10-8 with the knock down. That left hook that floored Ali is one of the most compact hooks you will see in boxing. This is alltime top 5 fight ever and may be the best fight ever considering the fighters involved in the fight. My Final score card Frazier-144/ Ali-141

  • @MrScarface6055 8 - 6? lol very biased Ali won this fight and lost only 3 to 4 rounds. I have made my scoring earlier on this page. Sorry but frazier lost every fight in the trilogy:P

  • @324582782 Frazier won i believe a majority decision. Ali was knocked down in the fight, he was hurt two other times in the fight were it looked as if he could of went down. He looked very tired through most of the late rounds. Frazier was the aggressor always coming forward in the fight, Frazier's body punching was so brutal Ali had no answer but to take them all. You must be thnking of their 2nd fight that ALi won by far, but this fight he was beatn to a pulp.

  • @MrScarface6055 give me the rounds that frazier won. Don't give me the summary of the fight lol

  • @324582782 Are you kidding? I love Ali but outside of Chavalo I never seen get hammered like this fight before. Only until Norton faced him later did anyone else hit him like Frazier and Chavalo.

  • @Canadian925 doesnt mean that he lost though,

  • @324582782 With your argument then Norton should have all 3 matches against Ali won.

  • Had it 145-144 for Smokin Joe Frazier

  • I really feel like Joe Frazier got robbed...

  • This is "the fight of the century" for real . The best fight Ali ever had. For sure you may see the results unfair for Ali, but the fact he was knocked down twice really matters. Frazier is a real soldier taking all these punches from Ali. I am a huge Ali fan.

By the way, Forman fight was a walk in the park for Ali compared to Frazier fights. It is clear that Frazier style is weak with forman and forman style is week with Ali.

  • who won??????????????

  • @same270 Frazier won by decision.

  • Comment removed

  • up joe, u da best

  • If Ali fought in today's era he would not have won very many fights. His tactics of pulling his opponents head down, strictly illegal, would have drawn rightful point deductions. He thus would have been forced to abandon his old standby - the grab-and-hold-on-for-dear-life that he employed all fight long against so many opponents. Being forced to fight he thus would have taken quicker and greater damage. His options would have been disqualification or getting the stuffing kicked out of him.

  • @dropway9 He would have anticipated on that, then.. Just like Pele would be CRUSHED in today's soccer.. It was a different time.. I have no doubt that Ali would still be champion of the world if he was born in the 90's..

  • @michaelyouth pele, doctor, maradona, jordan would NOT be crushed ever...

  • @soulyrasheed I did not talk about Jordan or doctor. I'm saying that Pele, the Pele we know, or the great total football team of Holland in 1974, would get CRUSHED in a simple match against tottenham hotspur.. The game is so much faster now. What I do know is that Muhammed Ali, and probably Pele aswell, would have anticipated on that, and trained differently or harder.. There was no reason back then for pele to train the way soccerplayers train today, since the game was slower..

  • Did no one ever teach Frazier how to throw an uppercut?

  • The reason Ali lovers can never understand why their hero has detractors is because of the comments on this very board. Ali throws one decent flurry of punches in the entire match and you guys all orgasm over how he's the greatest.

Frazier on the other hand beats the piss out of Ali for most of the fight, and you guys act like it's some anomaly that Ali went down in the 15th. "What, our demigod was knocked down? Where the hell did THAT come from?"

    lol

  • @DarkwingDork

ali gets knocked down & ali gets knocked down !!! hahahahah what thats hill shit

ali NOT OUT FOR THAT PUNCH IN ROUND 15 so what ??????????????/?? haha

and after 1 secound ali get up only ( one secound ) hill shit

    frizar won 3 rounds only 6 - 11 -15 , and 2 even rounds 8 - 12 , ali won rounds

    1 -2 -3 - 4 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 10 - 13 - 14 ,

    thats it 10 ali , 3 frizar , 2 even

  • @DarkwingDork I agree dude. Ali in my opinion won many fights by the skin of his teeth and favor of the media and judges. If u toss out the Foreman win (impressive) - but was fought in Africa at 3 in the morning where the whole continent was rooting for Ali (god knows what George's water was spiked with) - Ali never dominated great fighters imo. Frazier, Norton pretty much drew with him - and Foreman killed those guys within 2 rounds.

  • Man, Frazier may have won but he sure as hell comes away looking like the loser. His face was all sorts of fucked up, even more than Ali.

  • Joe is the greatest, together with Stevenson.

  • @messier991102 I never implied he wasn't great this night. I think you read something into my post that I didn't say.

  • Ali was probably a better fighter after the layoff. Maybe not in this fight. But he fought a higher caliber fighter overall in his second run, I will always wonder what the heavyweights would have looked like had Ali was around for those years 67-71. We missed alot of great fights over some racist Kentucky draft board employee who took it upon himself to reclassify Ali from 4F to 1A. That case should have never even gone to court.

  • @dennbb no just because he lost this fight doesnt mean he wasnt great this night, just that frazier was greater than most greats this night

  • @youngstackboy510 I don't think Ali ever beat Norton either but haven't watched those fights in decades cause I thought they were real boring fights. I never thought Norton was a great fighter but he sure had Ali's number.

  • joe win

  • frazier was definitely not better, he was just really strong. ali was missing for 3.5 years thanks to this countries b.s. the man missed his prime and had to make a comeback, and he certainly did.

  • Ali is da best. No question

  • Back then, steroids were popular I guess.

  • frazier was better

  • frazier was a beast the way he attacked the body.

    an absolute beast!

  • ali is the best

  • round 15 kocked down got up in less than 5 secounds who is he

    MUST BE THE GREATEST

  • if it was fight to the death who do u think would of won?

  • George Frazier and Muhammad Foreman were the greatest

  • @AgentPaulSmecker George Frazier?

  • @AgentPaulSmecker George Frazier?? Muhammed Foreman??..man, I believe you are a bit confused..xD

  • This holding shit is pissing me off...

  • where is the Love No Homo button when you need one...

  • I actually think Ali-Ken Norton was just as good a rivalry as Ali-Frazier, maybe better, think about it it had two split decisions, and one close unanimous decision it doesn't get much closer than that; all three fights were very close, unlike Ali-Frazier, where the 2nd fight wasn't so close

  • @jeremy10ization truth be told, Ali lost all three fights!

  • @mreman2 I know what you mean, no fighter ever gave Ali more trouble than Norton, Ali could never adjust to his awkward style. I have always wondered what would have happened to Ali's legacy if the 2nd fight had gone to Norton. There have been no need for a 3rd fight because Norton would have won the first two, and people would not have been able to call Ali the greatest fighter ever. Which makes me wonder if that's why the judges gave Ali the 2nd fight because they knew how badly he needed it.

  • @mreman2..ali lost the first n won the next two jus like the record says, n he tko'd frazier in the last one so how could u say that he lost all three if one of them is a technical ko?

  • @youngstackboy510 I was replying to the comments on the 3 Norton fights. I don't think Ali ever beat Norton.

  • @mreman2 YOu are so wrong!! Ali is the greatest

  • i had nyan cat going in the background lol

  • ali&joe, joe&ali, ali&joe !

  • I went through the six videos and I can tell you without a doubt thank you for sharing with me and other boxing fans who are enjoying every single sequence of one of the greatest fights of the last century.

  • 1 knock down in round 15 does not win over many many punches received in rounds 1-14. and the referee did a horrible job of separating them, he pushes ali back everytime, not frazier so frazier gets a first jump on ali, likewise in round 15 frazier continues to hold ali and hold the rope to pin ali while the psy ref does nothing, doesnt do his job. a rusty ali 3 1/2 year ban beats frazier. also all the boxers frazier, bonavena, quarry, chuvala, patterson should all have been drafted, orboycott

  • peek a boo style from joe is better

  • boxing is awesome, and it really gets you in shape. its too bad MMA is taking over. im not saying i hate it. i love MMA, right now more that boxing because right now in boxing no one wants to fight cause everyone is a premadonna.

  • THE WINNER AND STILL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, JOE FRAZIER!

  • @truebeliever786 Joe frazier lost this fight..Ali came to ring after a gap of 3 to 4 years and still he made joe frazier the gorilla look so ugly with his beating that joe frazier was hospitalized for that...Even though Ali was going down in the middle but wow look at his power and courage to hold on so eloquently...ALI IS THE GREATEST BOXER OF ALL TIME AND HE SENSIBLY AND LOGICALLY WON THIS FIGHT WITH GREAT COURAGE!!!

  • @pupunda

Screw you pig. He didn't win. Ali lost the fight and he admitted it later on. At the time he was being an ass but later on he admitted he lost. And Joe isn't ugly or a gorilla.

What about the Thrilla in Manila? Ali didn't have any absence at that time and he said himself that was the closest he ever felt to death. In fact Ali was getting ready to quit in Manila, while Frazier wanted to go on. The fight was stopped against Frazier's will. Frazier's a legend and a true champion.

  • Comment removed

  • @truebeliever786 It looks like u are truly a wrong believer!! Joe the gorilla in the manila was defeated by Ali. I am not saying gorilla joe is a bad fighter but he doesn't stand any chance to be compared to the greatest Ali & joe gorilla was terribly beaten and smashed to death by Goerge foremen and defeated by him with 2 rounds with six quick knockouts. But Ali defeated foremen which smashed the critics faces. At that time Ali was around 31 and foremen was 24 but still Ali defeated him! ALI!!!

  • No, Ali was 32 and Foreman was 25. Yes that was a stunning victory, but that is irrelevant. Using the idea that A beats B and B beats C. Therefore A could kill C is ridiculous.

Look at the following: Jimmy Young beat George Foreman beat Joe Frazier beat Jimmy Ellis beat Jerry Quarry beat Earnie Shavers beat Kenny Norton beat Muhammad Ali.

Using your logic all the boxers above would own Ali, yet Ali's the only guy to have beaten every single one of them. This logic is falacious.

  • @truebeliever786 Thanks for the correction about the age and also i am happy to see that you agree that Ali is the greatest since he defeated a giant like foreman who had brutally beaten joe frazier. As far as the logic is concerned, if someone gets beaten by a legend like bruce lee and the other wins over bruce lee that doesn't mean t the one who lost with bruce lee can win over the one who defeats bruce lee. Take care and thanks.

  • @pupunda

And there was a reason Frazier lost. He could not see with his left eye and Ali blinded his right eye, therefore he was blind. Eddie Futch, Joe's trainer, held 4 fingers in front of Joe and asked how many fingers he was holding up and Joe said 1. Then he called the fight off, although Frazier wanted to quit. Ali was getting ready to quit and begged Angelo Dundee to cut his gloves off. If that bell rang, there is a good chance that Ali wouldn't come out of his corner and Joe would win.

  • @truebeliever786 Well i don't know what you are saying about Ali here. Do yo have proof for that? and even if its true then what matters is that Ali made joe blind and a blind dying joe can't win over a tired Ali and Ali's face was too strong to get damaged like other boxers. Thanks and take care.

  • @pupunda

You want proof? You really do suck with boxing history, don't you?

See, I am a big fan of Ali and Frazier. They are both my heroes. If you want proof see the 'Thrilla in Manila' documentary. Freddie Pacheco, one of Ali's cornermen, testifies to the fact that Ali was begging to quit in the fight with Manila. On the other hand Joe was forced to quit, even though he didn't want to. That was Ali's hardest fight ever and even Ali said so.

  • Comment removed

  • @truebeliever786 I said even if its true that what you have said, still Ali is was on the advantage since joe was losing his eyes. Even if joe wanted to continue, he would have lost his eyes and again no chance to stand infront of Ali. I also said joe is not a bad fighter but no way he can come close to Ali's skills and legacy. Ali is the greatest boxer and will remain the greatest of all time to which the whole world agrees to and knows of it. Thanks and take care.

  • @pupunda

Ali didn't have the will of Frazier. Based on their fight in Manila I would put them as equals in the ring. On the one hand Ali blinded Frazier and bruised his face so bad and on the other hand Frazier battered Ali's body organs so hard that Ali felt closer to death than he ever did and was even willing to quit if Joe didn't. I love them both. They are both legends. Ali said after the match: 'He is tough. He's the greatest fighter of all times next to me..."

  • @truebeliever786 Thanks for agreeing again to the fact that Ali is the greatest boxer of all time!! Joe can be next to Ali (which i don't agree since foremen had beaten joe so badly that even the audience were laughing since it was very hilarious to see joe getting knocked down 6 times in 2 rounds in a very funny way) but not equal to Ali. So in totality Ali is the best of them all which most of the people agree since everyone has seen Ali's greatness as a boxer. Take care. Good bye.

  • @pupunda

I'm not saying Joe's better than Foreman (he's obviously not). I'm just quoting what Ali said. I agree that Ali is the greatest of all time, but he respects Joe so much. Joe gave him the hardest time. No opponent gave Ali as hard a time as Joe did and even Ali testifies to that fact. I'm saying that Ali and Joe were equals in the ring with each other. Overall Ali was greater, but when facing each other in the ring, I'd put them as equals, based on their fight in Manila.

  • @truebeliever786 Thanks for testifying and agreeing again to the fact that Ali is the greatest boxer of all time and no one comes equal to him in totality. Take care. Good bye.

  • @pupunda

No problem man. I never disagreed to that. I just said Frazier's also a great boxer and Ali agrees with me. Ali and Frazier are great friends today man. They are both legends.

  • @truebeliever786 Its alright. Its nice to see that you testifying Ali being the greatest boxer and no-one can be equal to him in totality and perfection to its best. Now you are appearing as a true believer with sensibility. Take care. Bye

  • @pupunda

    You too.

  • @truebeliever786 thanks

  • @pupunda We need to stop making excuses for Ali. He fought 2 fights before this one and was in excellent shape. Frazier was just a beast in this fight who would have rather died than get beaten. Frazier was never the same after this fight. But Frazier had the longer layoff going into the fight. Ali fought twice within 7 month period, and Frazier hadn't fought in about 9 months.

Ali is the greatest, but he lost this fight.

  • @mreman2 two fights can't make up for 3 1/2 years.

  • ali,ali,ali !

  • frazier the best

  • Comment removed

  • ali and frazier then leonard and hagler, now manny and who? floyd?

  • steroid wasn't invented yet but look at their stamina and hand speed, but now if you have those power speed and stamina people like tedy atlas will accused a boxer of using steroid or PEDS, ali's hand speed and frazier stamina and power equals Manny Pacquaio, 40 years ago, this coming May 2 boxer that have both quality power and speed will going to meet.

  • If only we had fights like this today

  • 40 years ago today, baby!

  • bigD3287: 2nd "fight" ws mor of a square dance thn boxing match, w/ Ali dancing/holding/clinching/neck grabbing... • the drama of this fight was superb. awesome, 5 stars

  • 3 Scorers had it 11-4, 9-5-1, & 9-6. Mercante, one of boxing's great refs', ws the 9-5-1. I hd it 10-5. Ali won on most holding/grabbing ard- the -neck/clinching! Ring Magazine, 91% of bxing critics, & any one w/ 6th grade intellect knew who won this fight, inc., BTFW, Ali!!! SMOKIN' JOE FRAZIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Face it, Ali superfans!

  • @3244gorilla Joe won this one fair and square, but Ali won the other two fights they were in flat out......
