  • My parents grew up at the turn of the century (20th). This was their music. They had records of those songs.

When I was 3-5 during the Second World War my mother would put me down for a nap in the afternoons (for a little break, I'm sure). She would put the radio on low and I would listen to the songs that she and my father had. I especially

enjoyed this song and Vera Lynn.

  • i love this song! beautiful

  • 82 yrs old song. still very cool today

  • Brilliant! I've grown into the biggest Gene Austin fan over the past year, such an amazing artist! Haven't found one person though other than my mom who knows of him...

  • @easternmind That's truly incredible. His record of "My Blue Heaven" was the biggest-selling single record for a great many years. So sad that people have interest in perspective.

  • I grew up with this music. I'm so glad it's still available for listening.

  • fantastic. beautiful . a golden era, love it

  • I love the movie 'PITTSBURG'. Though not this version, this was the theme song, certainly a beautiful, beautiful song.

  • Wow. I love great songs, This a GREAT song. (I also love Diana Krall's renddition)

  • The most beautiful recording of Garden In The Rain is this 1929 version. Not only his singing, but the background music is gorgeous. WOW!!! Along with Tonight you belong to Me, Girl of My Dreams, Ramona, & When Your Lover Has Gone all absolutely beautiful recordings with Gene Austin. Thank you. Tommy

  • Boy, I've alway known this tune, but not the name. Nice addition to my 1929 playlist. I've got 110 playlists waiting to take you back to any year since 1900.

A trip in time through music, just play all on any list and listen for up to 2 hours.

1929 plays for an hour now, all will eeventuaaly play 2 hours.

  • this song was used as background in a film called "PITTSBURG" with Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne and Randolph Scott made sometime in the 1940's.

  • My parents surelly dance this pretty song that I remember during the ´`50s, when I was only 14. What a days!

  • What a great melody...I remember this song from when I was a kid taking naps in the '40s.

My mother would put the radio on in the other room (low). I equate ths song with the WWII era since that's when I first heard it.

    Thank you for this version

  • The only version available for Karaoke is the Diana Krall version released by Pocket Songs. I adapt Austin's style of Crooning to the Very quiet almost jazz background, and it works. The Lyric style adn the Background music "marry well". Very tender song, I always enjoy singing it since it does have a "Happy Ending."

  • Tht melody is just BEAUTIFUL! There are few versions of that song on youtube, this one is among my 3 favorites. :-)

  • an all-time favorite of mine...yes, beautiful, indeed. thanks.

  • Beautiful..!
