SoundofSorrow, your one to talk pointing out flaws. First its a beginner lesson on fills, not counting and second: it would be 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and... so don't give advice when you don't have any, your a virgin!
@gsrsin So basically.. You just said what i said, but you said i was wrong.. right.. okay. And yeah, it's a beginner lesson on fills, but you still have to count correctly.. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + have good day. 'Virgin' :)
@SoundOfSorrowSOS No, it's not technically wrong. Again, he is counting quarter notes here. It's irregular, as this is a beginner lesson, but it is correct.
a little word of advice, at the start of the vid he tells u to start with your right hand if ur right handed how ever i as a starter was taught to try and always start with my left to help build wrist muscle and coordination
El tio hace una cosa cuando va a velocidad "normal" y otra distinta cuando lo hace a camara lenta. En primer lugar hace Tom - Caja x 4 - Crash y después Tom - Caja x 3 - Crash
One thing he never mentioned. When he hits the Crash(or ride) with the bass that count as the first beat of the rhythm. So after the Crash and bass you go straight onto a high hat then high hat and snare. Hopefully thats not too complicated ;)
I would suggest doing the same except reverse the hands on the snare, as in do a left-right-left on the snare, then it's much more comfortable to switch between tom and snare.
You are the best online tutor ever, Honest to God! So easy to learn with you, You take the time out to teach and not just show what youre made of! Thanks so very much!
thats really uncomfortable, after hitting something with your right hand, its too choppy to repeat another count. after he hits the tom, he couldve start the snare with the left and it'll end with the left and use the right hand on the tom. you can get alot more balance and not so much of a horrible fill that sounds like crap
I thought this was pretty good but it maybe easier to go hand-to-hand; you've gone r-r-l-r-r-r when it would be better to do r-r-l-r-l-r (right hand on tom, right hand on snare, left hand on snare, right hand on snare, left on tom, right on cymbal) otherwise it just over-complicates things...

I keep watching this thinking "dude! that fills too easy" but then I remember that it's for beginners. haha

It's funny because at 0:52 when he starts counting he's counting it wrong. It should be 1+2+3+4. Thats like the basic first thing you learn.

@SoundOfSorrowSOS haha thats what i was thinking. other than that he's a good teacher

@SoundOfSorrowSOS If you knew anything, you'd know that he's feeling those notes as quarter notes.

@XxStrongDrums1996xX Yeah but technically it's wrong, so yeah. I just like to learn things the right way.. Sorry if you have a problem with that. :)

@MooseOnDrums , for damping. its supposed to suppress lasting vibrations/resonations after a hit.

what he does slow during the explanation isn't the same as the full speed demonstration!

he add one or two ghost notes on the snare. that's all and it doesn't change the timing of the fill

Sticking has nothing to do with what handed you are. And I would break that down into it's actual count. 1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n
beat goes snare on 3 with my count, which is the deeper count he alludes to.
In the Fill the Tom goes on 1, second snare set played on "2 n 3" tom on 4
1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n
T n S S S n T n
